Identified! Canada - Fenelon Falls, ON, human remains found, Sep'10 - Jeffrey Bishop

Human remains found Tuesday afternoon near Fenelon Falls could be those of missing 35-year-old Peterborough man Jeffrey Bishop, investigators say.

City police Staff Sgt. Phil Davis said the body found Tuesday is that of a Peterborough man who recently went missing, but he could not confirm the name. The vehicle found near the body was the one associated with the missing man, Davis said.

bump. Can someone confirm if an official id was ever made that these remains found were in fact Jeffrey Lorne Bishop? I'm not great at navigating my way through Canadian news sites, nor am I great at finding MP listings when they might only be listed at non US sites like Charley Project.

TIA

Yes, positively identified.

Police release identity of missing man

35-year-old Jeffery Lorne Bishop left his residence prior to noon Monday (June 21)

Patience, the above article is dated June 2010 and appears to be a MSM article about the missing person, rather than an article confirming identification of the remains found later in Sept 2010.

I can't find a Sept 2010 or later MSM article after the remains were found that an official id was made, even though MSM articles seemed to point to a tentative id.

On some I have found the MP listed on the SSDI when a MSM update couldn't be found, but obviously no SSDI exists for Canada.

Not being Canadian I've run out of idea's to search....

Since it looks like an official id was in fact made, even though a name was never officially released I am going to update and move to the identified subforum.
