TN TN - Shelley Mook, 24, Shelbyville, 28 Feb 2011

Oh no, not another husband/boyfriend last one to see her. What is up with men out there?!

This doesn't look good. :(

I'm not saying it necessarily applies to this particular case, but in an attempt to answer your question, check out the clip below from the 3:00 mark until the 5:00 mark. Dr. Lee Warren talks about how the economy is crashing, guys wives are leaving them, and it's causing mental institutions to be overwhelmed and some dudes are snapping. Perhaps the mental health problem epidemic resulting from the current state of the economy is a catalyst for a lot of these domestic violence type murders.

I am relatively local but am recovering from surgery so hadn't seen most of this. Will poke around and see what I can find from here.

"Boyce said the department has spoken with Mook's ex-husband, Tyler Mook.
Asked if he was a person of interest, Boyce said: "Everybody is a person of interest until we find her."

Sadly this appears to be yet another case where there is an ex-husband, his wife has moved on in her life to a new place, only to go missing, and now her car has been found completely burned out. :maddening:

And her poor daughter.....

The first article says she has a 9 year old....and she's 24? So had child at 15? Just trying to figure it out.

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -- It's been a week since friends said they last saw Shelley Mook, a Shelbyville mother and teacher. Her family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to her return.

I wonder if her 6 year old daughter has provided any info. LE probably didn't talk to her until 2 or 3 days after Shelley had gone missing but maybe she remembered that mommy and daddy had a fight or that dad left her alone at some point, or something like that.

A lot of info at this link:

http://www.t-g.com/story/1708841.html

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents obtained a search warrant and brought a mobile crime lab to the Old Nashville Dirt Road home of her ex-husband, TM, on Friday night, Sheriff Randall Boyce said.

TM is "cooperating some" with the investigation, in which Shelbyville police and the Bedford and

Also says that TM has moved out of his home and that the daughter is being taken care of by family. And TM has a history of domestic violence issues. He was charged after he tried to run Shelley's car off the road and police were called to their house when they lived together. After Shelley moved out, there were two incidences of vandalism at her new residence and during one of those times a neighbor saw TM nearby and suspected he was responsible for the vandalism.

The article also does a nice job portraying what a great person Shelley is and how the vigil turnout shows her effect on the community.

Per facebook page, Nancy Grace will be covering Shelly's story tonight.

Thanks Chili Fries, more details are being released in the media. I'm just heartsick at the potential loss of another woman due to DV. I realize we don't know this for certain, but most of the info I have seen thus far is pointing that way. That beautiful child may have lost the most precious thing in life, her Mommy. It's preventable, but we see it over and over. If TM isn't responsible, whatever happened to Shelly does not bode well. She would have never left her child, not willingly.

On NG now...

There is zero hope this poor woman is alive...sorry to say. She would not burn her car and vanish...how sickening, what is wrong with people??? And how do so many good decent people end up with people capable of such horror?

They need to look at her ex husband ASAP!! He will not let Shelley's mom see her. Just talking about it on Nancy Grace. This poor woman!! I feel so horrible for her! She said that her name was on the list to pick up the little girl at school etc(her daughter had allowed it) and now that the ex-husband has her he's not letting her see her at all.

Her mom could barely talk she was so upset...just like Paige Johnson's mom two nights ago. I feel so sorry for both of them.

OMG Chilie I did not even see your post about TM having domestic violence issues. They need get the little girl into her Grandmother's custody!

It seems apparent where this investigation is going to end. Hopefully Shelley will be found and given a proper burial. So heartbreaking for her family and especially her little daughter. MOO

You can see it in the pictures, Shelley is a great mom with so much love for her daughter...Why do these nice women get into relationships/marriages with monsters?
