reading the Florida Statues....I am not sure he can be charged with the 1st Degree Felony....it takes more then TM being under 18.....the aggravated manslaughter of a child 1st degree has more to do with child abuse

What is more abusive than murdering? ^i^

A/P "Official" (unidentified source)

snipped

The law enforcement official said that authorities knew where Zimmerman was and were planning to arrest him soon rather than let him turn himself in. The official said he was not in Florida

If FL LE is going to arrest him (rather than let him turn himself in) then he must be of FL or else they would not have the jurisdiction to arrest him.

BBM I don't like the words "knew" and "was." Those are past tense? Are they telling us that they don't know where he is now?

ETA: And I just seen the "were" ... of boy!!

Ok, thank you.

I didn't think they had been. I've googled and found nothing.

Here is where she says she made a mistake.

Does anyone know if he can still invoke SYG in regards to a minor?

I would imagine that you can since a gun in the hands of a 10 yr old kid will kill you just as dead as it will in the hands of a 50 yr old, but it turns things on their head when the kid is 17 and unarmed. IMO JMHO and stuff.

I just did the math... if took us 21 full threads and just over 23,000 posts to get to this point. Amazing!

Glad that you found something "productive" to do while we wait :D I feel like I'm watching grass grow.

Would require federal charges, no? State charges mean that if he was in another state, and refused to come to Florida, he would have to be arrested in that state and extradited.

Am I wrong?

Can I ask a question (mods), now that GZ is being charged, are we to still consider him a victim ?

(not that I ever thought he was)

It looks to me that aggravated manslaughter of the 1st degree is punishable by a maximum of 30 years and a $10,000 fine.
3) A person who causes the death of any person under the age of 18 by culpable negligence under s. 827.03(3) commits aggravated manslaughter of a child, a felony of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

(b) For a felony of the first degree, by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 30 years or, when specifically provided by statute, by imprisonment for a term of years not exceeding life imprisonment.

b) $10,000, when the conviction is of a felony of the first or second degree.

The f.b.i. involvement gets gray/confusing when a kid is involved....or there may be more than state charges coming?

Anyone know anything about the FL statute this article is talking about?

Moreover, the Florida statute provides an additional layer of protection to a defendant claiming self-defense: A judge must decide whether the defendant is "immune from prosecution," that is, if the judge believes his actions fall under the law of self-defense.

So the following mixed outcome is certainly possible: The special prosecutor indicts; the judge does or doesn't grant immunity; if he doesn't, the jury acquits.

Or Virginia, where he was born and raised? imo.

BBM :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

There is a reason that is funny to me! Anyone who knows who Curtis Jackson is will get it. Best Websleuths thread ever!

Good question.

I will check with the top brass and get y'all a direct answer asap. Hang on until then please. :)

I have been reading you all since this case broke and want to tell all WS friends how much I love and admire their support. I haven't jumped into commenting on this one, although I read everything everywhere about it. But I'm still tender from the Caylee "mess" and am here with you all - but staying in the background for now. Justice for Trayvon and Justice for Tori Stafford!
Hugs to all!
