When I was replying to another thread it ocurred to me that there was another strange thing that, I think, John said.
It's when he said something about when his oldest daughter died he learned not to take so many pictures and just create the memories...
One of my close friends lost her 3 year old to an accident...... I have a lot of people around me who have lost children to illness or accident. It strikes me as strange that John said that because everyone I know that has lost a child is the exact opposite. They try to capture every single moment and memory of their childs life because you never know when it will be the last one.
Maybe I'm wrong and some people just go the opposite way. But I just cannot imagine that losing a child would drive you to NOT want to take so many photos....
Then again, nothing they say makes sense.

armywife210,

Maybe it all makes sense if you think someone has something to hide?

JonBenet was extensively photographed both as a pageant participant and domestically.

The majority of the photographs remain private, some are likely themed collections, some are alleged to have been taken down in the basement, and Patsy as per normal, does not know who took them. There is the distinct possibility that the photographs are innapropriate in nature and are what lay behind the 2nd search warrant issued for all camera media, vhs tapes, photographs, in short child *advertiser censored*, the results were redacted to deflect this line of inquirey from public scrutiny.

So maybe John does not want to claim ownership of any photographs, or be known to indulge in the photographing of JonBenet?

.

So they have a phantom photographer in the house.... who doesn't do photographs and video taping at the Whites??

I think he said that in DOI b/c the video of that morning became 'missing',so to speak...IOW,they made it disappear. It appears something was on it they didn't want seen, even though it may have just been Patsy losing it that morning w/ JB,(I consider that a possibility) and not *advertiser censored*.I know it was said JB didn't like the AG doll, and that was a supposed to be a special present for her.(I wonder if that's why she was gripping her arm so tightly in the pic JR took?)JR even makes a point of saying Patsy blew that off,but I bet she didn't.
But JR contradicts himself in DOI,if you read further.I'm also suspect of his line that he was doing everything 'exactly' the same way as his father had...he even emphasized the word exactly..and that his dad had always filmed xmas morning.
Yes,pics become very important to most everyone who's lost a loved one, esp. a parent losing a child.I'm sure he must treasure the pics of his oldest daughter(didn't he even have one of her in his bathroom?),so he knew better.I was also suspect of Patsy going thru JB's photo album in PMPT that morning...that's something someone who's lost that person would do.

I know they video taped it.... and I wonder if it was video taped at the whites too. I suspect it was. I wonder what other events were taped around that time. There was the party a few days prior where 911 was called...
But for sure Christmas was taped. Who doesn't tape their children Christmas morning...
I believe Patsy had a horrible temper, of course she blew up about the doll. I think it was my twinn though, not American Girl. Small difference, but none the less a difference.
I wonder what happened the the video tape.

I've always thought there was something to those photos in the basement, even though some blew it off.In particular, that one q where she was asked if JB did some thing 'cutesy' in the basement, would she take a pic of her there? So it seems someone did take a pic of her there, which is odd,not just that pics were found of her there?
Patsy herself does not come up with an 'explanation' for the photos until the next day,in her interviews. And if there was a 2nd warrant issued,it means probably cause was found to search again, I assume? JR states in DOI that no *advertiser censored* was found...which makes me think that just the opposite was true.
good point re: JR and photographs.

I just don't think so. I think they were fishing. After all, it is a sexual crime in nature (albeit staged) so they are going to go after everything. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst investigations known to man.

ok,that's what I meant.I thought the mytwinn dolls were made by American Girl,or that they make a version on them.I got my daughter a doll there when she was little and I think I recall they do.I don't know for sure though.

lol, I haven't gotten my girls my twinn dolls... however they each have two AG dolls, and all of the books that go along with each of the dolls. My oldest is now 12, so of course she doesn't play with them anymore... and she has moved on in her reading... but she still has them on a shelf in her room. My youngest loves the dolls and the books. The books are the reason I love them so much, they really draw them into reading. My 12 year old used to hate reading until I got her her first AG doll and the complete series. After that she was hooked. I caught on quick with my younger one. It became a "stepping stone" in their life, a goal. As soon as they learned to read Dr. Suess they got their first doll and the complete series. It encouraged them to get to Dr. Suess level, and then it was a huge jump to the next level.... but they were ready and willing.

If the photographs were inappropriate in nature, the District Attorney, would have had his ammunition. He felt he did not have enough evidence to win at trial. You show a jury pornographic pictures of a six year old and you will get a guilty verdict. There are no pornographic pictures. None.

MyTwinn dolls are kinda creepy

I'm not surprised JonBenet wasn't overwhelmingly thrilled with hers. I suppose Patsy thought it would be a mini JB for JB to play with, just like JB was a mini Patsy for Patsy to play with. Patsy did love it when she and JB wore matching outfits, and she said that she'd sent in photos of JB so the doll came with outfits matching two or three of JB's. Perhaps Patsy took the rejection of the doll harder than she lets on in DOI (I would bank on it), and perhaps unconsciously JB's rejection of the doll that Patsy expected her to fall in love with symbolized a rejection of the mini me lifestyle Patsy wanted for JB.

I was really creeped out when Patsy said the doll lying in the box looked like JonBenet lying in a coffin, but I dismissed that as perhaps being gothic drama - Patsy said the doll's eyes were closed, and I don't believe the eyes of the My Twinn dolls close like that.

good thoughts, and then if JB really did refuse to wear the red shirt to match her that evening...all hell could have broke loose. And if she said ok,wear it tomorrow, and then when they got back home,JB refused that too..
I do think Patsy was angry in the xmas morning photo, despite her smiling, since she was gripping JB's arm tight.I suspect she was just smiling for the camera.

that was indeed creepy...I wonder if she was already agitated with JB when she went to put the presents out.

that's cute, great idea too.do they like Harry Potter now? My daughter just HAD to be at the bookstore that Sat. morning when it opened to get the latest one ! My son didn't like to read until he saw her reading those and that got him started, too.

Solace,

They do not need to be pornographic to be inappropriate. JonBenet may have been posed indecently, but still wearing clothes, she may have been posed reflecting the photographers desire to create a theme e.g. pageant princess?

That questions were raised regarding photographs either taken in the laundry room, or discovered there was enough to issue a request for a search warrant which was looking explicitly for child *advertiser censored*, this is why it was redacted.

I agree. But I would think that since she was found in the house, a sexual assault (albeit staged) that they would want all the computers, etc. from that house. But I don't believe he ever says they found photographs there, did he? I think he said "were photos ever taken there? If I am not mistaken.;)

Solace,

Photographs of JonBenet, note the plural, were discovered in laundry room, with some possibly posed there, this was not made explicit.

Okay, I stand corrected.

my oldest has been reading Harry Potter since the beginning of third grade. My youngest loves them, but they are a bit hard for her.... so she will read (or try to) a paragraph with either my husband, my oldest daughter, or me....then we will read the next bit for her until she wants to try again.
Reading is a really big thing in our house.

for us,too.my daughter reads the most of all of us,whenever she's not doing homework that is ! she's always working on something from the time she gets home till just about bedtime, whenever school is in.and even some over the summer.
