Remains were found in a field in the vicinity of Highway 210, approxiamtely 11 east of Missouri City, Missouri.
The decedent is believed to have been 19 to 22 years of age at the time of her death. The race of the decedent was undetermined; she may have been Caucasian, African-American, or Bi-racial. She was believed to have brown hair, and was found with a hair comb.

Namus says she's 21-25, Doe network says she's 14-23 years old. The reconstructions look older. I wonder why they have only white reconstructions, if she could be white, biracial or black. Is she more likely to be white?`

Tracy Lynn Ramsey, went missing October 30, 1994 about 5 or 6 miles from where the remains were found months later.

actually about 20+ miles distance between the two. Tracy does look like she might have enamal hypolasia as described by UID ME, but the quality of the picture its kind of hard to tell.

Worth contacting LE, I think, though!

Timeline ok, circumstances and demographics close. What really gets me is the photo of her upper incisisor...

Here is the Namus page

I've tried enlarging Peggy's picture and I think that tooth is pushed right back instead of rotten, I can't really tell. It's a shame they don't say. It says partial skeletal remains. It would be difficult for Peggy Alt to get to partial skeletal remains in a month? It's also 240 miles (over 4 hours) away - although the circumstances of her disappearance make that very possible.

hypoplasias - this is probably the best clue we have - see google images...

There can't be that many younger women with teeth stained like that.

There is a Peggy Alt websleuths thread with people that actually knew her here: MO MO - Peggy Lynn Alt, 17, High Ridge, 2 March 1985 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - perhaps you could try and get more information on her teeth? It sounds to me like that 'date missing' could be estimated. If that is the case and that tooth is rotten then this is a good possibility.

Peggy would be a good possibility. I think it was said around the time of her disappearance that she went to the Kansas City area either with a boyfriend or to a family members house...I can't remember exactly..IIRC there were a few different stories as to where she went and with whom.

Submitted this UID as a possible match to Mary Frances Gregory, missing 1978 from Parry Sound, Ontario who traveled to the US with a male companion.

Classification: Endangered Runaway
Date Of Birth: September 4, 1970
Age: 13 years old

Details of Disappearance

Shaunda disappeared from Ypsilanti, Michigan on October 15, 1983. She has a history of running away from her residence and authorities believe she left of her own accord. Her case remains unsolved.

*Height is only one inch off, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt because they are skeletal remains.
*Age is only one year off.
*Interesting facial resemblance.
*She did run away, apparently, but it would be hard for a 13-year-old to travel from Michigan to Missouri in a short period of time unless she traveled with an adult.

About three weeks ago, the bones were sent to a forensics program at the University of North Texas.

On February 20, 2015 the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Squad announced that they had recently renewed their efforts into the investigation of a female homicide victim whose skeletal remains were discovered near Missouri City, Missouri on April 18, 1985 in a field near 210 Hwy and Boyer Road...

Detectives said they have chosen to resurrect the 1985 homicide cold case because of new technology which has been developed. They believe it will help solve this case. Last year detectives solved a 1990 cold case in a similar fashion.

Clay County seeks help in solving old murder case
04/03/2015 6:18 PM

Nearly 20 years after her skeletal remains were found near Missouri City, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department is still trying to find out what happened to a female murder victim in her late teens to early 20s.

The remains were discovered on April 18, 1985, in a field near Missouri 210 and Boyer Road. A tortoise-shell, barrette-style comb was found near the remains. The time of death may have been in 1984 or 1985. The teeth had several unattended cavities, and decay on the upper right incisors would have been visible.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cold Case Squad at 816-407-3716 or email coldcase@sheriffclayco.com. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

New forensic science shows 1985 Clay County cold case victim was African-American

http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article105801541.html

For years, investigators thought the woman whose skeletal remains were found in a field in 1985 was Caucasian. Now, after the remains have been examined further at the University of Northern Texas Center for Human Identification, and by experts elsewhere, the sheriff’s office has said the victim was African-American.

The new information also slightly expands the probable age range for the woman, whose remains were found in a field near Missouri 210 and Boyer Road in southwest Clay County.

Cold case investigators hope the new details could help identify the victim and have distributed a new image showing what she may have looked like.
