FBI pleads for tips on Delphi murder victim's 14th birthday

The FBI marked the birthday of Delphi murder victim Abby Williams with another plea for help.

Williams would have turned 14 on Friday, a little more than four months after she and her friend, Libby German, were found dead in a wooded area near the Delphi trails.

The Bureau posted Abby's photo on Twitter Friday, making a plea to anyone with information about the double murder to come forward.

A reward of more than $235,000 hasn't gotten investigators the tip they need. Police have already investigated an astounding 17,000 tips and more than 600 potential suspects. A task force of more than 100 police has been reduced to 11 investigators.

“We had special places we loved along the trails. So did Abby and Libby – they loved that area out there where the High Bridge is,” he says. “What we want to do is to try to make people feel more comfortable and being able to access spots that are very unique, and very historic, and very beautiful.”

An endowment fund will also be supported at the Carroll County Community Foundation to provide for long-term maintenance of the trail safety measures."

"DELPHI, Ind. –It has been nearly five months since Abby Williams and Libby German were murdered on the Delphi Historic Trails.

“We will find this individual,” said Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby.

Their killer is still out there.

“It is always going to be on our minds until something happens,” said Julia Leahy.

Leahy grew up in Delphi and is the executive director of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. She says she has noticed a drop in visitors since the murders and says some people still avoid the trails due to safety concerns."

White County FOP benefit a huge success
Lodge donates $5,000 to The Abby and Libby Foundation

It was a picture perfect day for the 2nd annual White County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 123 benefit concert held July 8 at the Pine View Resort in Monticello.

This is truly humbling,” stated Mike Patty, Libby’s grandfather. “ It is amazing to see so many people from different communities come out and support us and the White County FOP. We are going to get this field built, and the help and support has been truly a blessing. It is overwhelming at times to see such support.

Of note :

An image of a man wearing a blue jacket with his hands in his pockets walking along the Monon High Bridge and an audio clip of a man's voice saying "down the hill." Police have not said whether they believe the same man is depicted in both pieces of evidence, but they have yet to identify who either person is.
