Okies, I've cleared this topic with a mod. See article linked above.

The abandoned car had Holly's cellphone in it, camo clothing in the back when discovered. The discovery changed the location of the searches. IMO, might be the most significant lead in the case.

So we have Holly escorted into the woods near her home, then...her possessions found in a throw-away car with discarded camo clothing and Holly's cellphone in it, IIRC, 8 miles from her home.

How did that happen and what does it mean?

Two kidnappers? A carefully planned vehicle switch?

Planned change of clothing for the kidnapper?

Don't know why it's not mentioned more often in media, but the MSM link (from several days ago) was brought to the thread today.

It scares the crapola outta me that we can confirm this info about that vehicle linked to Holly's cellphone linked to the new major search area...

What kind of a car is/was it???

Have the brother and bf been ruled out? I keep seeing that they have been, but at the same time, I keep finding the same quote from LE that no one has been eliminated.

For one, this article is from Friday the 15th, the height of the "car rumor/non-rumor/whichever".

Secondly, this article says, "after authorities say they discovered a car that had Bobo's cell phone along with camouflage clothing inside.".

Where did authorities ever say that they had found a car? I've listened to the pressers multiple times and have never heard "authorities" confirm a car. In fact, at 7:11 p.m. on April 15th, Will Nunley tweeted, "TBI: no vehicles have been recovered, that information is not correct ". So we have the TBI saying that there has not been a vehicle recovered, but I can't find anywhere where any member of LE says, "we've recovered a vehicle with HB's cell phone and some camo...", etc.

Can you point me to a link that quotes LE if you have one? It would be greatly appreciated.

What I can do for you is link you to the scanner thread - which records police calls. Give me a minute. I'll bring it to this exact post for everyone.

I have been thinking about this too. Up to the point of the vehicle in the woods discovery they did not mention even the possibilty of a vehicle - ATV yes, but not vehicle. I think that there is only 1 perp. I think she does know him. I think this vehicle was hidden nearby - perhaps between her home and the neighbor's. If the neighbor did in fact hear a scream it was when Holly and the perp were nearer to the car. sure wish she could have kept the cellphone hidden on her person longer! Depending on the model it could be a beacon!!

I don't have confirmation of a car, but I do have this:
On Sunday, investigators asked area residents to try to recall people who may have been acting peculiarly the day Bobo disappeared or afterward, saying it was likely her abductor had knowledge about the the thick woods nearby.
The abductor may have missed work or appointments on Wednesday or for days afterward and also may have an "excessively cleaned" car or all-terrain vehicle, or suddenly sold a vehicle or reported it stolen, the bureau said.

That link does not work for CBS.
This is the story that LE denies.
They did say that the lunch box was found 8 miles away. Was everything 8 miles away? Was everything found together?
LE said yesterday the car was determined to be unrelated. Are they lying? What would be the point?

I think LE keeps denying these things because if she is alive and they are running then they don't want the perp to get too desperate. They would rather he hears them asking people to think about 'missing co-workers.' Imo, LE wants him to think they know nothing and are NOT on his tail. I hope so anyway.

Have read it, Emma. Still not convinced there was a car found that was related to this case (but that's just me :) ).

They were "ruled out" early on. But later, LE came back and said that no one has been eliminated. However, no one has been named as a suspect or POI either.

Emma, many of did read/hear about this thing with the car a few days ago...but LE has more than once said it was not true, and then yesterday in one story said they had looked at a car but it turned out to be not related, when pressed by reporters. So we really don't have any way of knowing if the car actually had the phone in it, as they have not officially said they have found the phone either, as far as I know.

oh shoot. I missed this post while I was working on providing all the links. oh well.

perhaps others will benefit.

Okay, another question: If the brother says he saw her being led away, but recent reports are saying he did not actually see her go, are we looking at an untruthful brother or misreporting media? Has there been any indication of which it is? This is the sort of thing that could easily be mis-reported, but if the brother were intentionally untruthful, it could change things in a big way.

IIRC there were several articles today that said Holly's cell phone and purse had been found. And "other" items. Previous thread has all the articles.

I know that LE is denying this information. I can understand why. But at the time I was listening to this unfold with my own ears. Within a VERY short time they were calling out for more searchers after saying they had plenty for the day and it was being tweeted that searchers were being moved to the new location..... which just so happens is in the vacinity of the found vehicle. That is not a coincidence. They have been going deeper and deeper into this same area ever since.

How far away from the house was Holly when her brother saw her?

The Bobos have a lot of land around their home. Is it not possible he knows he saw his sister walking with camo guy from a long distance and near the woods - but he was far enough away that he can't give a great description, assumed it was someone safe with his sister, and didn't realize at the time she was being forced?

I don't know if they found a car or didn't, or if they did find one, if it turned out to be related or if Holly's phone was really in it. But I do not think that LE has singled out their suspect and is just trying to keep him off guard...they are actively asking the community for help, asking for people to call in with tips about car washings, etc...when they admit they have nearly 300 tips to sift through already. I just don't think they would be doing that if they were hot on someone's heels.

This is pretty much what LE is saying did happen, that he thought the guy was her BF or assumed he was and did not become alarmed until later when he went outside and saw the blood in the carport/garage area. We don't know what made him look out the window at that moment. We also don't know why LE is saying she was in fear for her life at that time, as in, how could they tell if he only saw them walking towards the woods? I am assuming they are saying that because blood was present? But they have not said whose blood.
