Ah yes.. the pride of being Law enforcement.. my dad said he fantasized about it all his life. went into the army and then became a police officer (I wasn't even allowed to call him a "cop!!" I still get flustered around a man (yes there are women but u know what I mean) in a uniform! Unfortunately.. not many feel the same way nowadays
Lots of the reason is because of the actions of LE like the SPD (IMO, MOO, JMO)
He got out because he saw the rapid decline of the external AND internal respect for the NYPD.
:sigh:
So sad...
I'm sorry to hear that...very sad indeed! And I hope if the SPD is found to have been out of line, those bad actors will be dealt with harshly. No leniency for intentional neglect of duty or wrongdoing in LE. No room at all for it.
