Missing 7-year-old may be linked to dead man found at Miami motel
"Miami Police are looking for a man, a woman and her 7-year-old daughter, who may be tied to a man found dead in a motel on Flagler Street over the weekend.

On Monday night, Lt. Carlos Castellanes said police needed the public's help in finding Michael Douglas Evans, 30, Kristy Evans, 34, and 7 year-old Jala Barnett.

Castellanes said Michael Douglas Evans has a warrant out of Ohio for escaping and eluding police custody and Kristy Evans and her daughter were reported missing and endangered in Ohio on May 7.

“We’d like to make a plea to the public,” he said, adding that even the smallest details could be helpful in finding the Evans. “Please call us.”

According to the article ^, the deceased man is Joseph Everett Moniz, 46. No relationship or cause of death has been released.

Local news interviewed the ex wife of the man who was killed. She said he was a very nice guy but he was a drug addict and in her opinion he was killed over a drug deal gone bad.

Mom and Stepdad are reportedly heavy drug users.

The Audi posted upthread belonged to the man who was killed. He also was not a registered guest at the hotel, but his body was apparently found in the room the family was staying in.

If true, what a fun life for a seven-year-old. If you choose to live that lifestyle, your parental rights should be revoked.

ENDANGERED CHILD ALERT...

Authorities are searching for an ‪#‎Ohio‬ family who they believe may be connected to a man found dead in a ‪#‎Miami‬, ‪#‎Florida‬ motel on June 6, 2015.

Miami Police Lt. Carlos Castellanes said 30-year-old Michael Douglas Evans is wanted for escaping and eluding police in New Philadelphia, Ohio, which is about an hour-and-a-half south from Cleveland.

Police said he was on house arrest while awaiting trial in a serious felonious assault case. He's likely traveling with his 34-year-old wife Kristy Evans and her 7-year-old daughter Jala Barnett. The mother and daughter were reported missing and endangered in Ohio on May 7.

U.S. Marshals Offer $5,000 Reward for Information Leading
to the Capture of a Dangerous Fugitive

Cleveland, OH – The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Michael Evans.

Evans is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for aggravated robbery and felonious assault charges. Evans is also a suspect in a homicide that occurred in early June 2015 in the Miami, Florida area. He is believed to be traveling with his wife Kristy N. Evans and Kristy’s seven year old daughter Jala Barnett. They may be driving a Blue, 2001 Ford Escort with Ohio registration FUT4068. Evans may also be driving a stolen 2005 Blue Audi A4 with a temporary license plate number BKD-6156.

Crime Stoppers in Miami is also offering a reward of up to $3,000 dollars for Evans’ capture. This additional reward by the U.S. Marshals brings the total reward amount of up to $8,000 dollars for any tipster providing direct information leading to the arrest of Michael Evans.

Evans is a 30 year old white male. Standing 5’10” and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. Kristy Evans is a 34 year old white female, standing 5’04” and weighing approximately 130 pounds. Jala Barnette is a 7 year old female standing approximately 4’6” and weighing approximately 65 pounds. Jala also has a beauty mark on the right side of her face above her lip. Evans was last seen in Miami Florida but also has ties to Tuscarawas County Ohio.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “Our concern is for the safety of the community and the welfare of the little girl who may be traveling with Evans. Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in locating this dangerous fugitive.”
