Pretty common for these cases to take a long, long time to get to trial.
The wait is very frustrating, but eventually there is a resolution.

I know, Joe from LB. I just had this hunch that they were going to avoid the entire thanksgiving/christmas holiday months, because the horrid crime happened on Christmas Eve day (I believe). I was soo hoping for the wheels of justice to start turning. I don't want anyone to forget what happened to this young boy.

I will never forget Jonathan Foster!!!
And I see there are several of us still here that will never forget him.
Those bright eyes, that beautiful smile, so full of life & energy ... I will never understand why this happened to him. I have to keep the faith Mona Nelson will be punished to the full extent of the law.

I do not understand the people who are OUTRAGED that this trial has been postponed... but are NOT outraged that BOND was set for this???
What am I missing, help me out here?
Trials being postponed is completely routine and expected, in order for justice for be done.
Bond being set for torching a child is NOT in the interest of justice.

The trial will be postponed no matter what. But if people realize she has BOND, that could be changed.
If she gets out, what does she have to lose? Really? That's scary.

I never understood why she did it. That poor soul, makes me think of my young son, home alone just waiting on mama to get off work and come home. Why did she do it? Any reason?

In an Ex Parte Motion For Permission To Expend County Funds For Purposes Of Hiring Expert For Assistance submitted by Allen Tanner, Attorney for Defendant (Mona Yvette Nelson), the following was granted by Judge Jeannie Barr on 3/8/2013:
Defense can hire Dr. Paul Radelat, a Pathologist, to assist in the defense.
Defense requested $500 per hour; Judge Barr granted $250 per hour.
Said amount of compensation to Dr. Radelat is not to exceed $2,500 unless prior approval is sought from the Court to expend further funds.
