Identified! IL - Champaign Co., WhtFem Skeletal 220UFIL, 19-41, in cornfield, May'95 - Keri Lyn Wyant

I noticed the potential for a match while doing some research today as well, and noticed that many of you have made the same connection.

Has anyone received word on an official rule out on Camille being the Illinois body? It hasn't been listed as ruled out on the NamUs profile, but that could just be an oversight.

This Jane Doe has been discussed before but does not have a thread for mixed discussions that I can find. If so please merge.

Is estimated to have been placed in the field between May 1994 and October
1994.
The Champaign County Coroner has ruled the female’s death a homicide. They were unable to determine the cause of death, although there is a possibility that she died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Vital Statistics

Estimated age: 19 - 30 years old
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'3" - 5'6"
Distinguishing Characteristics: Straight, dark brown hair with a reddish tint. Medium to heavy build. She may have had one or more children, probably through Cesarean birth. She may had early athletic or dance training, such as gymnastics, ballet or figure skating, based on the leg bone structure.
Dentals: Available. The victim probably did not receive regular dental care.
Clothing: Police found the victim's blouse, sweatpants, and two rings in the field. The blouse is described as a white, v-collared, short-sleeved blouse. It was a size medium and had buttons on both the front and the back. Additionally, the blouse has a pocket on the shirt’s left side, and bares a Huntington Ridge label. The victim was found with two rings. One ring is a plain, gold band. The other is a yellow-metal ring, with stones set in a circular pattern, and has a dark green center.
DNA: Available

I think Shannon Salisbury could be a match.

http://doenetwork.org/cases/220ufil.html

She went missing from La Crosse County, Wisconsin, roughly three hours away but a reasonable distance for dumping a body.
Age- 29- within age frame
Height and weight look right
Went missing October 1994 within timeframe
Was wearing green sweatpants and the UID was found with sweatpants but they do not mention what color.
Had children same as Jane Doe.
Went missing wearing a green turquoise ring.
Any thoughts are welcome.

Did you ever submit Shannon? She looks like a real possibility to me.

They added an image of this UID's teeth in NamUs.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/5325

From what I can see of the possible MP's presented here, none of them (except one) have teeth that strike me as being similar.

Lola Fry is the only one mentioned here whose teeth really look close.

... but she had breast implants, and one would think those still would have been there with the remains.

Lola Fry is an interesting possibility. She was involved in a lawsuit about the implants. Maybe they were removed to avoid identification and association with the lawsuit. I wasn't able to find out if she had children or early athletic training...

This UID case appears to be one of those cases with a Nuclear DNA profile (nucDNA, or "STR"), but no Mitochondrial (mtDNA).

As I understand it, this means that CODIS would hit only if the matching MP had a DNA profile consisting of that person's own DNA (e.g., from a toothbrush, clothing, etc.), or Family Reference Samples from more than one close relative.

Lola Fry's NamUs casefile indicates "Sample submitted - Tests complete", which presumably includes both mtDNA and nucDNA.

With respect to this UID, her mtDNA is useless because there is no mtDNA profile on the UID.

The big question is whether her nucDNA profile consists of only a single FRS. If this is the case, (as I understand it) there would be no hit, even if this was a match.

But then, her dentals are also entered. So if this was a match and there was a false negative on the DNA, we would still expect a hit on the automated dental comparison.

I couldn't find Julie Renee Gann Brumfield (last seen in Abita Springs, LA) on NamUs, but she is on the LSU Site, Charley Project, and Doe Network. One of her photos caught my eye as resembling one of the UID's recons. I can't make out her teeth, though.

More photos, including two with rings:

Her LKA (September 12, 1994) is within the estimated postmortem interval (May 1994 to October 1994), she wore rings, and her height and age (5'4" inches, 35 years old) are all within the estimates (5'3" to 5'6", 19 to 41 years old).

LSU's profile says dentals are available, but not DNA for Julie.

I've looked at this photo a few times this year and thought "I knew who this is". I then thought" I am going to call this in" and then I thought "Nah, I could be wrong". Maybe this is why I was directed to websluthes to begin with because I am pretty new and have looked at the Doe Network a few times. SO, the thought evaded me for awhile but then I got serious. I tried calling the sheriffs office and that didn't get me anywhere, so I called the crimestoppers number and that didn't get me anywhere either. I finally contacted someone with what I think I know about this girl and I am waiting to hear back. This person goes back to my childhood and if it is the same girl I knew, she lived in Arkansas for awhile. I don't want to be right but we were pretty close when we were kids. I will be seriously surprised if it's not her but I am bracing myself because it might be her. I'll let everyone know if I'm right. Gawd, I have never experienced anything like this feeling before.

I'd love to have this girl identified, but I hope they find your friend alive and well.

I'll be very surprised if it's not her. I'm about 95 percent positive it is her. In the first top picture ( that is drawn) I can tell she is heavier because when she was younger, her face wasn't that full. She also wore glasses... her teeth were crooked. In the second picture, (top set of pictures-- that is drawn) her chin is too pointy .. but overall it's a good sketch. I can see why the others didn't match her.. because she has a distinct jaw bone and real high checks.

I'm hoping it's not her but I will be surprised if it's not. I have no idea where Champagne County, Ill is.. I guess i need to look it up. Thanks for the kind words.. I'll let everyone know. Also, the eyebrows are dead give-away for me. ( 1st picture) The artist did pretty good really... as far the features and bringing her forward. It's really amazing. I can't imagine what happened to her... if it's her. It's sad either way, even if it's not her
