BSL - More Victims????

Awesome! I will update what you posted and try to get it in here this evening. With you updating TX and me doing LA, we should be able to get a lot of information put together. That will make it easier to follow when people eventually migrate over here. I was thinking of adding MIssissippi at some point. I wish we knew more about when he entered service and where he was stationed/deployed/went TDY and the times associated with those.

All I know is Ft Polk in June/July 1999
~ per Ft Polk.

katc has some of those details. Perfect timing!

http://www.katc.com/news/opelousas-city-court-will-pursue-12-year-old-case-against-lavergne/

"The warrant is still active for simple battery that was filed February 8 of 2000," said Lisa Boudreaux, Opelousas Deputy Clerk of Court. "The next step is for the judge to sign the transportation order to have him transferred over here for prosecution."
Lavergne was arrested on the warrant for simple battery on February 9, 2000. He was then released 12 hours later to Fort Polk where he was stationed at the time. The next day, he was booked into jail in Evangeline Parish in connection with an aggravated oral sexual battery charge. He would end up serving eight years.

Can we all agree he was in custody from February 9, 2000 continuously at one of these 4 agencies until his release August 9, 2008?

Based on his age, I think it is safe to say that Ft Polk was his first duty station. BCT is 10 weeks and AIT is 6-52 weeks. The location of his BCT and AIT would depend on his MOS. I am going to do some digging and see if I can narrow down the base options. Then see if I can piece together an estimated time line. I noticed someone talking about his discharge and will pick someone's brain on the process as well. Oh, the dates of incarceration look good to me. Have you seen any other dates he was processed in and out of the system as he was charged? Crimes associtated with the base(s) may not be public, but, I have someone who can give me insight to tht process as well.

no.

Did he serve "probation" in jail? (maybe)
Was he actually "out" for 9 months prior to his
release date?

Remember he was a "model" offender" volunteering to "counsel" others offenders!!

"while in prison Lavergne voluntarily "completed numerous mental and social health programs to achieve rehabilitation, including but not limited to three separate anger managements, all four phases of the Louisiana Sex Offender Treatment Program, a domestic violence prevention group, a victims awareness group."

"While in prison, Lavergne came into contact with a group of prison ministers with Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley."

As early as April 1999 for Fort Polk per the incident report on his aggravated oral sexual battery charge.

His DOB is 1-18-1979 http://www.icrimewatch.net/offenderdetails.php?OfndrID=1417897&AgencyID=54450

so his 18th birthday would have been 1-18-1997. We should not be able to find anything prior to that date for his timeline but not necessarily a date to stop looking for potential victims. Although, I'm not up on serial killer trends to know if they also kill as a juvenile.

The way I understand it is he dropped out of high school as a junior?
He was born Jan 8 1979.
Assuming he was never held back...
At 16 he would be a Jr. 1995?
He got in trouble during this time but was a juvenile.
RECORDS SEALED>

Should have graduated at 17 in 1996?
Earn GED
Sign up for the military (I think) in an attempt
to keep him out of trouble.
So he was 18 in Jan 1997.(did they have early entry then?)

At any rate I believe he was done with MEPS and BASIC by 1998?
NO WAY he went AWOL before that!
AIT by Jan 1999?
Wonder what his MOS was???
I know Infantry train there now.
17 weeks starting IN FREAKIN JULY!!!
But they are only based at Ft.Benning
and FT.Lewis right? (why am I trying to make sense
of this? It was ALL pre 9/11!!!)

I have a suspicion he was based in Texas until at first?
Evangaline rape April 99
A DWT may have been seen fleeing the accident scene with TX tags...
on June 19 1999. IF HE WAS ON 2 WEEKS LEAVE 6/19/1999...
HE LIKELY WAS NOT THERE AFTER JULY 1 1999!
(home on leave? before the transfer???)
transferred to POLK in July 99' met his wife married her in Sept 99'
(after 3 months) <I think so he could live off base!

He beats her xmas eve 99'
He WAS AWOL FEB 9 2000. When he beat his wife.
At Opelasus Hospital where she was working. (and at LEAST 2 months pregnant!!!) She left him after xmas

He was there to pick up his truck(reportedly a DWT). She wouldn't give it to him.

*** not verified!!!! but an honest hypothetical baseline...
and as always :cow:

Here is a few...

-It is rare for a serial killer to pray on members of another race.

-26% of serial killers start out in their teens. 44% in their twenties and 24% in their thirties.

-Prostitutes are the most common serial killer victims career-wise.

-15% of serial murder victims were said to have been chosen entirely at random. 85% stalked?

-A serial killer's favorite trophy is the girl's panties, although they have been known to prize a few human body parts here and there.

-Serial killers tend to be intelligent, but had trouble in school and holding a job.

-There is something called the Triad which is considered bed-wetting past the age of 12, severe pyromania, and sadistic animal torture.

I have been pulling from the local area starting when he was aprox 15. Past history eluded to by verified sources on the MS forum is that he had a troubled childhood...add raging hormones to the mix and I wonder what he was doing at that age.

I added more to my spread sheet and will post when the kids are napping tomorrow. In the mean time, I was thinking about BSL's penchant for arson and sexual assault. Is there a searchable database with public access for either of these? I know there is an arson database, but, I do not think it is made public. If you know a link for any of these please share!

I can'tfind them posted on the public search sites I have done.

my searches show 0 murders since 2002
and 0 arsons since 2002

funny thing a fire fighter in CP was arrested... 3 counts of arson.

There is a story about a woman found dead and dragged out of a house on
fire.

Maybe you will have more luck!

Here is the link for the information on the Arson Registry. I have been trying since first posting about it on the MS thread to find a searchable equivilant and have not had any luck.

It's Bywater. I don't know about you, Bessie, but Bywater is mostly locals, many in arts, alternative lifestyles, neo-hippies. That seems way out of his zone. Don't that he'd even know it existed.

not unless he got off I-10 at Orleans. Does it give her precise start point & route? It's hard for me to imagine anyone doing that know now.
I did it, but that was ages ago when you could still walk from the FQ to Tremé in the evening or at night..

Be sure to provide reliable links to any missing/murdered persons cases you post about here.

Agreed. I can't see BSL finding his way to the Bywater. He'd stick out like a sore thumb. If he did make his way down there, I think he'd be in a big hurry to find his way out. I sure would like to see Jessica's murder solved, though.

BTW, I updated the info on BSL's incarceration in the OP. I'd love to know if he was actually behind bars the entire eight years. I have a long list of missing/murdered in Texas, but the dates don't fit his timeline.

Thanks! If he was released outside of that would it be noted in the system? Has it ever been reported that he was part of a work release and if so where? I am finding alot of interesting missing/murdered in Louisiana that do not fit the time either. What dates are you using to do your search? The inspectors were here yesterday so I was not able to work on it like I wanted to and I was just mentally drained last night. Hopefully I will figure the uploading a table thing out today!

ETA: apparently I am not making complete sentances today. Had to go back and edit.

My list has about 130 names ranging from 1971-2011. It's information I compiled when we were putting together the I-45 forum.

I haven't been able to confirm that he was ever on work release. How about a furlough, though? A few hours on the outside would be plenty of time to work off some anger, kwim? Just speculatin'. Yes, it would be, or should be, part of the record. Unless I've missed something (quite possible), I'm unaware that anyone outside of the correctional system has actually seen his record. Louisiana Department of Corrections has confirmed locations and start/end dates of confinement only.
