SBI probe into possible juror misconduct

"In his May 16 memo to attorneys in the case, Judge Stephens said the posting from a "Jennifer Russell" was posted by a male blogger in High Point who had been following the case and believed Young was innocent and had been "railroaded."

"This male blogger did not personally know anyone named Jennifer Russell and did not know a hairdresser with a friend on the jury," Stephens wrote. "He just 'wanted people to open their minds up and see that Jason Young did not do it.' He acknowledged that what he had done was wrong."

Stephens said that the State Bureau of Investigation probe also investigated similar messages from an unemployed man in Darlington, Texas, who acknowledged that he posted comments on another website as a joke.

"Unfortunately, it appears that this conduct does not constitute a crime," Stephens wrote. "The integrity of the jury verdict as rendered in open court is confirmed."

Now Jason can settle into his new life. I wonder if they have tailgate parties in the big house.

So happy to read the news. It gives that final element of closure.

When will these malicious bloggers understand that they can be tracked? A huge waste of $$$$$ is spent on people who want to interject themselves into a case but are not confident enough in their story, or they outright lie, to identify themselves and present their story to the DA. They need to be charged with the investigation costs.

Imagine the stress to MY's family.

Anyway, just got back from a little WS hiatus. I needed a break from all the crime stories. It can get to you after awhile. So happy to come back and see this issue has been resolved. JY better make himself at home because it doesn't seem like he's going anywhere anytime soon. :jail:
