I saw this on Twitter and googled her name and there was a story, but no comment from police. Allegedly, Kara Alongi was kidnapped from her home today at 6pm in Clark NJ.

The only news article I can find and it doesn't say much.

The article I posted has been updated to include this paragraph:

"But police sent out an Amber alert for Alongi around 10:40 tonight. The report said there were signs of a break-in at the Alongi home and that the girl was home alone at the time."

How scary. Sounds like she was hiding and trying to not make any noise, hence the twitter alert as opposed to calling 911?
 
I wonder if burglary was the intention of the break-in... Or if the kidnapping was?

That's what I would think. And, one of her friends (on Twitter) said that is probably why she didn't call 9-1-1. People were criticizing her for not calling the police, instead of tweeting.

SCARY!!! It's sad when you aren't even safe inside your own home.
 
I hope there are finger prints, shoe marks, DNA, anything that leads to the perp!

Was there a sign of a struggle?

do her parents have any ideas who might wish to kidnap this girl?

I hope the guy named in her tweet from 3 days ago has been checked out!

There are no obvious signs of a break-in and the home was not ransacked. The door was open. Kara, if you see this, please contact your parents or Clark Police. You will not be in trouble. We are concerned for your safety."

Scherb says the canine unit picked up her scent and walked the neighborhood but was broken off after not finding a further trail.

Scherb says the Sheriff's Department is photographing the area, as is procedure. Police are talking to Alongi's friends and investigating all leads. Those with any information should call Clark Police at 732-388-3434."

The report said she was home alone at the time of her disappearance and there were signs of a break-in at her home.


In the article you posted, the 11pm update states:

"UPDATE, 11 P.M.: Alongi is still missing and Clark PD has issued the following Amber Alert: "At 6:12pm the missing, Kara Alongi stated on Twitter that 'There is someone in my hour ecall 911.' Indications of a break-in reported present at the scene. Missing was home alone. Again, missing is Kara Alongi. 5ft3in aprox 105lbs. Blonde hair, hazel eyes. Last seen wearing a blue Aurthur L. Johnson HS (ALJ) sweatshirt""

The 11:10pm update says no indication of a break-in. Now, which is it? :waitasec:

I saw someone say she was found and went to one of her friends page and they said it is a rumor. She has not been found.
