AMEN. We are all with You Breanna... I feel exactly the same way. I am sitting here feeling sick to my stomach and shaky at all that has been going on, from Caylee, to Hayleigh and now Sandra. What the Heck!

And I can tell you the outcome with Haleigh. I could be wrong, but I'm rarely not. I wish I was.

I should clarify what I meant, some type of GPS for small kids, not teens or adults, so they can be found. Not advocating the gov get in our business, or anything like that. I'm not having kids but I'm pretty sick of all the **** going on today. :furious: Just thinking of keeping kids safe...oh well.

Yeah, I'm actually agreeing with you. I was sort of asking why people go right towards gov control theories when discussing things like microchips and gps in humans. Cause that does not worry me too much. But, now I feel like a real dummy because, as a poster stated, a chip would be useless without the kid being found. It's only useful in identifying who you have found, not tracking them. Oh well, I'm tired and upset I guess! Not thinking straight!

I just saw the news... Okay - this one is really getting to me. I was so hoping they'd find her alive. May God bless her soul, and her family. Why do people do this??? Why...

Right now I would be willing to back anything that helps children stay safe...it has just become too much. I just can't imagine going through this as a parent.

sorry amysmom :) from the quote I thought you were referring to what the reporter was saying

That's OK but now I'm very  cos we both were watching Kron Live & I heard the reporter say "Sandra was last seen near #43" at the very end of them showing the route (mhp-crime scene) but you didn't?

Another reporter soon after was talking about LE being there right now (I believe you thought I meant that?) but as you said nothing about #43 was mentioned at that time.

Chipping would bring a false sense of security I think.

A chip cannot protect you or your child.

The bad guys always have outlaw technology - how do we know they would not use it to actually track the chipped children?

Too many unintended consequences with something like chips - even tho I know your hearts are in the right place.

In a precedent that could have a major impact nationwide, California police say they are looking at known child *advertiser censored* traffickers in a missing child case.
(TRACY, Calif.) - Police in Tracy, California, a city of 80,000 just east of San Francisco, are searching for an 8 year-old child, Sandra Cantu, who disappeared March 27th.
Now, according to the Tracy Press, investigators in the case say they are looking at 60 individuals in the Tracy area who have been identified trafficking in child *advertiser censored*, along with 78 "registered" sex offenders.
It is believed to be the first time in the U.S. that police have publicly acknowledged the huge population of known but not arrested child *advertiser censored* suspects in a missing child case. more at link:

:blowkiss:

Keep reading, we're all tired and making mistakes, and I knew you were agreeing with me all along. I guess the bottom line is WS'ers care and want to see a solution to this craziness. It's the price of a free society, so they say.

I just saw the news... Okay - this one is really getting to me. I was so hoping they'd find her alive. May God bless her soul, and her family. Why do people do this??? Why...

There is no why belimom. There is only a because. Because they can.

I wasn't the one who originally reported it, that was just my response to the post. It was a couple pages back I think, but I'll see if I can find who originally posted it. I think it was reported on KRON News if that helps, but there wasn't anything reported other than LE was inside the MHP and hadn't left yet.

can you give a link? thanks

Maybe I'm not understanding, but I don't think a chip could be used to locate somebody; only to identify them if the chip is scanned?
Can you use the chip on your cat to locate where he is in the neighborhood? It must be something I'm not aware of. Usually I'm behind in new technology.

No, I was not making sense! Sorry!

That may be what's really killing me about this case. I usually can follow these cases very clinically and dispassionately. I'm a family law lawyer and many of my family are social workers so I'm exposed to tons of horrible stories. But, I saw the video of the last sighting of sweet Sandra and she was so happy, so cute, without a care in the world just swinging those little arms. That's what hurts a lot - seeing that innocence and knowing what happened next. I'm going to try not to get a time out here but: BASTARDS! BASTARDS!

You said it all... ... Wish I had someone to sit here and cry with me at 1:30am. Dear God someone help these children.

i listen to an LE interview and he said the pond was NOT on private property......
It was on a dairy farm and the owenr was not allowed to return home until after the "container" was removed.

Irrigation ponds are, by definition, on private property. It was drained in ordre to flood (most liekely a field or orchard). There is a REASON LE jumped on it so quidkly. Teh Central Valley is an agricultural area. There are few woody areas - it's all towns or farmland. There's an extensive system of canals for irrigation. I am not sure if Tracy has the huge system of canals that we have in Stanislaus County. Water is sold by the yard for irrigating. Farming and agriculture in the Central Valley of CA is NOTHING like farming in the midwest or other parts of the country. We get very little rain other than in the winter months so farmers PLAN on irrigating. It's part of the growing season.

I just saw the news... Okay - this one is really getting to me. I was so hoping they'd find her alive. May God bless her soul, and her family. Why do people do this??? Why...

We're with ya'. All with broken hearts.

The reason I'm saying the chips are a good idea is that we have one of our own members, and probably others I don't know about, who's family members are STILL MISSING. Not only could a person be tracked and possibly saved before they were murdered, but the bodies of murdered loved ones could be found! My heart goes out to Kathy - she is still in limbo after FIVE YEARS! After getting to know her and the he!! she has gone through, not to mention the rest of her family, it seems like a tracking device of some sort could have allowed them to at LEAST be able to have some peace!

Think about it.. her daughter and granddaughter are not even "officially" victims! I can't even put into words the he!! she is going through. If not microchips, then what?

Exactly...just a tracking device. It could be place in jewelery, shoes, the lining of clothing. It wouldn't have to be placed in the body just on the child so it could be immediately activated once a child is noticed missing. It would at least give some direction as to where to start looking and if marketed and widely used it would be a deterrent to sicko's who snatch kids.

I think they already have these...let me look...

Could you guys take the talk of the chips elsewhere? Thanks - this little girl deserves her own thread and one without debates regarding chips.

You also make sense. Megan Kanka, the little girl who Megan's Law is named for, had a child alarm on her wrist so her mom would feel safe letting Megan play in the neighborhood. Megan's mom was very protective. The alarm was found beeping on the side of the road and Megan was gone.

yes she certainly does and I'm sorry for taking the thread OT.
