While little is being discussed nationally in the news, this article is a bit of information about 2 young women abducted in Pennsylvania (East Coast) and were rescued in Wyoming by an observant State Trooper in January 2016. Story is, at least one woman was being taken to California (West Coast) for prostitution.
IMO, this case, or any case like it, needs more attention/following/sharing ACROSS THE NATION. It was just a one-night blurb on the news in our nation's capital, and finding information on this seems to be "hit-or-miss" in searching.
"Lester Tucker, 38, of Oakland, Calif., and Janice Scott, 27, of Modesto, Calif., both pleaded not guilty before Carbon County District Court Judge Wade Waldrip (Wyoming).
Waldrip said that the cases would be combined and that trial would be scheduled within 180 days.
Though the cases were combined, Tucker and Scott addressed Waldrip separately and court bailiffs seated them apart from one another.
During Waldrip’s recitation of the defendant’s rights, he asked if either of them was not a U.S. citizen. Scott spoke up, saying she was not a U.S. citizen." February 23, 2016 http://www.rawlinstimes.com/news/2016/02/couple-charged-with-human-trafficking-plead-not-guilty/
According to this news article, the trial should be held (and more information available) by August 2016. Victims have only been identified as S.P and N.B. They were taken into protective custody in Wyoming in January 2016.
If you have information on this case or others like it, please share.
