This story still doesn't make a bit of sense. I thought SF was not heterosexual [per the news interview with her friend on the 1st day, the Today Show, I think.]

Why would he be upset that she wanted to leave? They didn't look like they were en route to a sexual interlude on the video.

The mercado [little market] is right next-door to that hotel. They said he bought coffee and bread. I can't imagine that taking 45 minutes.

Joran admitted he was under the influence of marijuana, per JC just now. [big whoop] She said authorities said he broke her neck.

Wait....?! Jean just said Natalee Holloway was a household name there in Peru. Did she misspeak or what?

I didn't know there was a Natalee Holloway Center for Justice in Washington, DC. [I guess that's where Beth Twitty was speaking from today.]
 
Rick Sanchez on CNN just said officials were discussing having a live, televised re-enactment coming up.

Maybe if anyone approaches him when he's asleep he reacts violently, or if he's sleep deprived. Who knows. Okay I'm off to try to catch up on the latest "confession"

Someone on the other thread was describing how Stephany looked when entering his room. The fact she went in the room with him at all is so strange to start with, and I agree with what other folks posted that her posture and the way she was following him was strange, the lowered posture of her head.
Does anyone know if people who have been given rufinol hang their heads like that? My understanding is that it makes people compliant but doesn't necessarily render them unconscious, right? And has an amnesia type effect to some degree, so they don't remember too much detail of what went on or it's blurry? Appreciate any other info.
Somebody could use it to rob people I guess

Has any toxicology been released on Stephany yet? (Well I guess maybe it would only be disclosed at trial?)

I heard that yesterday also Flow, she (JC) asked several people if they knew who he was and they all called him the criminal. There was a lot of coverage on him when Natalie disappeared.
 
Maybe she walked in like that so not to be recognized her father was very well known. Not sure I would want people knowing after the few days the knew each other (as far as we know) that I was willing to go into his hotel room.
 
Yes, you can break a neck with a "karate chop" if you know how to. You don't have to be big and strong like Joran. I can do it with my martial arts training and I am a petite woman. Perhaps Joran had training while in Thailand or elsewhere. On the last thread I believe it was Patty G who posted that she doubted that Aruba could ask for a longer sentence in Peru (hope I paraphrased that correctly). My understanding is that it was reported that the Holloways could do so. In some countries you are allowed to introduce evidence of uncharged crimes at the sentencing phase of a criminal conviction, my guess is that this is what was being referred to.

According to Jean C, who is reporting from Peru he hasn't even been charged yet, they have to do a reenactment of the crime as the next step then the prosecutor takes it all to the judge and he charges him. There is a video on page one.

"LIMA (Reuters) - A young Dutch man linked to the mysterious disappearance of a young American woman in Aruba has confessed to murdering a female student in Peru, police said on Tuesday.

Colonel Abel Gamarra, a spokesman for Peru's national police, said Joran Van der Sloot admitted he killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores, a business student whose body was found in a Lima hotel room last week.

"He has confessed that he's to blame for the death (of Flores) because he was against the wall ... this young man did not have a choice. All the evidence, all the proof pointed towards him," Gamarra said."

"Gamarra said no murder weapon was found and that Van der Sloot probably beat Flores, the daughter of a wealthy Peruvian businessman, to death."
 
I wondered that too, Nort, since the casino was supposedly owned by her Dad's friend. I wondered if she was trying to be discreet and keep her face off camera

Her friend allegedly told media though that S was actually a lesbian, so her friend thought S would never have had any interest in going in a room with a guy. I wondered maybe if he convinced her he wasn't interested in sex, said, I'm not looking for sex, you can crash in my room, or hey, "I'm gay, too, don't worry, let's just do drugs" or just had some other story like, "let's go to my room so I can pick up some more money real quick and then we'll go out for breakfast, or whatever. How about, if we go by my room we can get the money I owe you? What if she'd lent him money in the casino?
She still might hide her face so no one would get the wrong idea about her going into a room with a guy....still it is strange she would go to a room with a stranger from another country, when her girlfriend says she wouldn't go in a room with any guy. Why not just wait in the lobby....
I wonder if rufinol tends to make someone follow like that or hang their head like that

of course her friend could have been mistaken, maybe she wasn't sure about her sexuality yet, but I still would kind of be surprised she would trust a complete stranger and go in his room

Basically that is what I said. I can't see how Arubu could possibly go in front of the Peruvian court and ask the court to sentence Joran for a longer sentence because of the "alleged" murder of Natalie in Arubu. Joran has not been charged in the death of Natalie.

Arubu has to get off there "butts" and either charge Joran with Natalie's death , or just go and get their bathing suits and soak in the sun on the sandy beaches.

Before arriving in Lima on May 14, the dutchman Joran van der Sloot was in Colombia, where he arrived on May 6. What did he do during those days in the neighboring country? The same thing he did here, visiting gambling sites.

However, his visit coincided with the disappearance of two young colombian women who also were frequent visitors of exclusive casinos.

"During those days (the dutchman) visited gambling sites in the city of Bogota, as seen on security videos of these casinos. What puzzles me is she is found with a bra and T or undershirt on.........I didn't see any bulk under her fitted top.
Her outfit (while entering the lobby) looks fitted and dressy. Not jeans.
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did she have some extra clothes in his room?
Had she been in the room earlier that day?
I know many people are calling her a lesbian, but she could of tried to test the water a bit.
Many people can be "BI"...............

- SHE HIT HIM FIRST - SLAPPED HIM
- he hit her back
- he grabbed her by the neck
- he had MARIJUANA in his system when he attacked her
 
Until toxicology tests come back (and are then disclosed to the media) we won't know if SFR was drugged at all. How she entered and walked into JVDS's room, her demeanor, really doesn't tell us much. I mean, at 5am, after a night of gambling (and possibly some drinking) I would imagine one might be tired.

I don't make any assumptions on something that is so open to interpretation (tired vs ashamed vs drugged vs ?). It doesn't really matter (unless she was drugged, of course). She trusted the guy enough to follow him into his room and she was never seen alive again.

So the next waypoint is seeing what the tox screen results say, if anything.

Every single thing he says that points to SFR going through his stuff and hitting him first is, IMHO, a complete lie. He has zero credibility.
