Lewis’ sister, Tiona Peery, said, "She had a heart the size of Texas. We were inseparable. We were everything to each other." "I believe someone murdered my sister," she said.

Peery said, "The thoughts of not knowing where her body -- or where she is -- is not acceptable to me. I have to have Tammy to take her home … That's all I want. I want my sister, and I want to take her home."

When I saw "Travelers Rest" I had to take a double take. That is my neck of the woods, I am about 30 minutes south in the same county. I haven't heard or seen anything about this?!

Police said 40-year-old Tammy Lewis was last seen March 17.

Lewis' family said it is not unusual for Lewis to go missing for a couple of days at a time, but this amount of time is unusual.

On Tuesday, police said they completed a search of Lewis' home, but did not release the details of the search.

Lewis' sister, Tiona Perry, said Lewis' home was broken into three days before she went missing. She said Lewis also reported her car had been stolen before her disappearance.

Perry said she found a scene of disarray inside her sister's home when she went to check on her. She said Lewis' power had been cut and there was a strong smell of bleach inside, to which Lewis is allergic.

"Something terrible had happened," Perry said. "I felt it all along in my heart, that my other half was gone. She did not walk out of that house on her own accord."

Police said Lewis failed to show up for her court date on March 14, and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. They said Lewis may be hiding.

Police feel she might be hiding, per a news article.

I think it is highly unlikely that she is 'hiding.'
There is that smell of bleach in the house, home was in disarray,
someone took her car that very morning
and someone had broken into her house 3 days prior to her disappearance.

Sounding much more likely that her so called friends may have had something to do with her not making her court date.

I think it's extremely unlikely that she missed her court date voluntarily and went into hiding. And somewhere in between her house got broken into, her car got stolen, and her house was doused with bleach and found in a complete disaray. Just doesn't make sense.

I think it's much more likely that she missed her court date because she was in danger. And sadly, I don't think she'll be found alive judging by the state her house was supposedly left in. :(

I don't watch the news a lot, my husband is in the military and I prefer the actual stories he tells me rather than some of the ones the news puts out there. :) However, I made a point to watch some local news last night and this morning. Was there a mention of Tammy? NOPE! If they aren't airing this story because they feel she is hiding then that is just wrong. I personally don't think she is hiding but I understand how that could be. The thing is, just like with run aways ... yes there is a possibility they ran away or are hiding but there is ALSO a possibility they didn't and harm has or will come to them. Everything should be taken seriously until actual proof that it isn't a serious matter!!

"We saw her, physically, on the fifteenth," said T.R. Police Chief Lance Crowe. "[But], the seventeenth is the last sighting that a couple of people have reported to us."

Mrs. Peery, who has been in town in search of her sister since Tuesday, March 22, said that Miss Lewis witnessed and knew who stole her vehicle.

"I have been door-to-door and have called everybody that was in her cell phone,” said Perry. “There were things left in her home that someone would take with them if they were planning on being gone for even an afternoon.”

Travelers Rest Police Chief Lance Crowe said they've spoken with a couple of persons of interest, but as of this posting, they're not classifying the case as a homicide

Lewis’ sister told police on Monday that she was worried about her sister because Lewis was involved with illegal drugs and because she had received threats from people she knew.

Lewis told her sister that her car had been stolen on the morning of March 15, the day she was to have appeared in court in Greenville.

Her front door is locked, the power is off, her bedroom is destroyed, the computer, printer and 2 totes are missing.
Her car is stolen the morning of her court date. She is said to to have known who took the car.
The house smelled of bleach.
