GUILTY CO - Leann 'Annie' Meyer, 51, Wheat Ridge, 23 Feb 2013

This feels like a crime of passion. I haven't had much luck finding information on Melissa. I did find possible relatives and associates but no FB for Melissa.

Just read the cbs report. Unreal lack of investigative involvement in this one. If the LE cold case team scheduled this one again, they may be more successful.

Bless the friends and their involvement to try to find answers. Sometimes it is so difficult for friends and family to know how to help. Quite often the more information and possibilities that are put on the table can be useful. They might include that one bit of information or an overlooked angle that could help solve a case and bring someone home.

I'm amazed at how different the truck found is from the truck shown on the missing flyer. I realize the flyer states they were representations...but dang. How do you expect people to be on the lookout for something wrong?

Shown on the missing flyer was a 2WD grey Toyota truck with no graphics

Recovered is a 4WD truck that appears more blue than grey (on my screen) with graphics along the side.

Also, in an article linked upthread, the roommate's father stated that the Toyota truck was in the shop with a "broken motor" (which, personally, I find an odd choice of words for a man). But now the truck has been found in a parking lot? :waitasec:

And how the he!! does the roommate "return" the Rav4 when Annie is missing? Who did she "return" it to? Ugh.

Trounce said that his daughter had been driving Meyer's Toyota RAV4, but had returned it. He said Meyer's older Toyota truck is actually in a repair shop, because it had a broken motor

Great news! Going forward from here. Forensic team searching the truck now. I wonder how it got from the "repair shop" (with a broken motor) to the parking lot.

Now to locate her car, phone, ipad and computer, but most of all, Annie.

Should it be hard to locate?...........................

So the roommate claimed to her father than the truck was in a repair shop with a "broken motor" and it wound up being found 4 miles or so north of the house; and she claimed to her father than the Rav4 was "returned" yet it was found several blocks south of the house. This lady's stories are just NOT adding up at all. Obviously, she wouldn't lawyer up if she didn't have anything to do with whatever happened to Annie.

By the way, I did get a call back earlier this week on the tip I called in. I don't think the lady I saw is Annie, but just wanted to call it in just in case.

I wonder if she had been treated at her doctor's office, urgent care, or some other clinic when she left work early that day.

from above link

The Rav4 was found one mile from Meyer's Wheat Ridge home. The initial investigation indicates the Rav4 had been parked there for several days.

So could this mean a week or two or literally 3 days..

A Toyota Rav4 belonging to a missing Wheat Ridge woman was found late Wednesday night.

According to Wheat Ridge police, a citizen called them regarding the vehicle being parked in the 3700 block of Marshall Street.

Police will search the Rav4 on Thursday for evidence.

Wheat Ridge Police said on Wednesday they found Leann Meyer's truck in a parking lot in the area of West 72nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

Guess the motor got fixed on the truck or that's a really really bad mechanic that leaves a vehicle 3 miles from your home.

I just came here because I saw the article and know the officers involved (great men btw) I'm confused on one thing, if she was last seen on 2/7 leaving work early, then s/w her mom on the 10th IIRC, who was it she actually spoke with on 2/23? Has that been mentioned at all? TIA
