A FATHER charged over the death of his three-year-old daughter has been granted bail this morning.
Matthew Williamson appeared in court today on charges of child cruelty and manslaughter of Kyhesha-Lee Joughin.

The 28-year-old, who was the sole carer of the toddler when she died in their Petrie unit in March, was interviewed by detectives for five hours yesterday before being arrested.

Such a beautiful little girl. I cannot understand why her father got bail?

One of the first reports...

April 01, 2013

SHE was daddy's little girl, a bright and bubbly three-year-old who never stopped smiling.
But Kyhesha-Lee Joughin's family was left in shock when the toddler's lifeless body was found at her Petrie home north of Brisbane at the weekend, unrevivable despite her father's desperate CPR attempts

Ditto, to all wondering how a child killer gets bail. It's shameful.

The pictures are so lovely and sad. What a GORGEOUS little girl, what innocent, trusting eyes.

Her mother must be devastated. I can't imagine my beloved, beautiful daughter being murdered by the man I was partnered to. Two losses, both terrible to bear.

I wonder if the judge who gave him bail has children. :|

Wait a minute....wtf? What was the COD? Why was this guy given bail?
Such a beautiful little girl. :(

I don't understand this part:
After the bail hearing that lasted about 15 minutes, Magistrate Linda Bradford-Morgan granted bail on the condition that he has no contact with his two-year-old son and no unsupervised contact with any child, including his four-year-old niece.

So why must he
also live with his father, sister and niece at Hillcrest.
???

Is it the same niece?

Terrible reporting btw. Spelling mistakes everywhere in that article.

It probably is the same niece, it's only unsupervised contact that he's not allowed.

That article also says the 44yr old that was arrested in Grafton on unrelated charges is a 'co accused'. Very interesting!!

The matter will return to court on July 1.

<modsnip>

I haven't seen any updates in the news.

Cruelty to children under 16 s 364

The prosecution must prove that:

1. The defendant had the lawful care or charge of the child, who was under 16 years.

2. He caused harm to the child by failing to provide the child with adequate food (or clothing, medical treatment, accommodation or care)

3. The defendant was able, from his own resources, to provide food

4. The defendant knew, or ought reasonably to have known, that failing to provide the child with adequate food would be likely to cause the child harm.
