Such awful news to return to Dana's thread and find. May she rest in peace. I pray her family and friends find some comfort in the fact that she has been found although the circumstances may still torment them. I hope they find some resemblance of closure. Although it doesn't make losing Dana any easier, at least she can now be brought home. Fly with the angels beautiful lady!!

I've been rabbit hunting on occasion, more than once over many years, and have never seen a rabbit trail per se...places where rabbits "lived"....but not a hippity hop trail. I have seen deer trails many of which even an ATV couldn't manage let alone a car. This part just bothers me and I wonder if LE is exaggerating a wee bit or if there is other access.
In the Chandra Levy case as i recall, much was made by LE of the difficulty of the terrain where her body was found....but then subsequent sleuthers...found alternate routes...that were not, ahem, so difficult and could have explained how a body could have been placed there.
The location of the car...the tree cover to hide it from the air, the alleged diffulty of getting to the spot, with the rain, storm etc. just seems a bit much.
There isn't a such thing as an actual rabbit trail, unless you're talking about some temporary marks a rabbit has made in snow or dirt or such. I can't find any definition for "rabbit trail" meaning a physical trail in any dictionary. "Rabbit trail" is a metaphor that means something is round about, all over the place, leading to a dead end, etc. Interesting choice of phrases!

I found this on a site about rabbits:

Rabbits commonly feed and travel along human paths, rural roads, and roadsides. Heavily used rabbit trails look like 4-to 5-inch wide paths in grass, dirt, decaying vegetation, and snow. In tall grass, trails are more tunnellike. Tall blackberry thickets are a favorite shelter, and nicely pruned little tunnels can be seen leading into these thickets.

So there ARE rabbit trails, after all! Wonder how a car drove down a 5-inch wide path. Or any path.

I'm guessing from the lack of information, that this was, indeed, a suicide. So sad.......
