It seems to me one of the things the killers do is mock the police.This may be why Brandon Swansons car was found in a ditch near Taunton among other things .I will get back to that later as I said this is very complex and looks like organized murder .

My theory is this: Of the more than 70 deaths possibly connected, some are tragic accidents related to alcohol and hypothermia.

The other deaths are homicides. There are patterns and clues in most of them that do make sense if the victim just fell in some body of water and accidentally drowned. For example...........water being in opposite direction of destination, tracking dogs losing a scent in locations that would implicate abduction or travel by car to water, oddities about clothing i.e. clothes folded neatly by waters edge, victims on cell phone who stated, feared, or implied that they were in trouble, cell phones being found at separate location from body, surveillance video picking up strange occurrences such as person seen going into the bar but not exiting...............the list goes on and on.

I think the killers are small groups but part of a bigger group that maintains communication. These groups move in and out of areas.

I think they are thrill killers who leave taunts and clues that are symbolic and meaningful to the group. It does not have to be graffiti, as to not be too obvious. It could be numbers/dates, words, locations....They have gotten away with so many that the boldness and frequency of the murders will increase.

And like all serial killers, their egos will be their demise. They love that they are evil, feel powerful but they are really just losers in life....outcasts who only fit in with each other... basically, thugs.

I absolutely agree. I tinkered with other theories but I must say, I keep coming back to the one you stated. Sometimes people get bored with themselves or with life and they decide to cross the line, not because they should, but because they can. When there are no adverse consequences to their actions the thrill becomes the drive. They won't stop until they're caught because nothing else is so intense and risky... it is the ultimate rush. Evil is what they choose to be ... they can never go back... I pray for an end to this.

i dont want to go off the topic with what im about to talk about.but this thread is about thoeries so i can think outside the box a little yet apply common sense when these people are living in a different world.
i lived in a very evil neighborhood for over 10 years.i know what im talking about.there are groups a people that enjoy harming and kill other people.the smiley face killers got their reasons and other groups got their reasons too,whatever they might be.in my neighborhood many people got killed in the entire city like many others.our neighborhood created its own brand.you could be owned and once you were owned you did what you were told which for most people was just to stfu.every murder is unique,some unlike any others,some fast and others incredibly slow.the people that are involved are like normal society people but are enjoying causing physical suffering to others.being that i lived in a street with murderers,lonesharks,drug dealers and torturers ive seen and heard alot.people are oblivious to the things that happen everyday only a few homes away and our street the homes are close together,that dont mean much either.THEY CAN GET YOU if they really need to.they are into technology,they love it because they can incorporate into whatever they are doing and pass the info along to likeminded people like thereselves.these types are the ones who wanna know where someone might sleep.

Personally I think it is just an unfortunate coincidence. I live in a town with 3 major colleges and a couple more near by. Think of how many college students there are at any given time in the USA. This is an unfortunate small portion. A lot of them drink. Just because they are athletes or scholars doesn't exclude them from partying.

I am heartbroken about anyone losing a child. My son went to college here. I always warned, no lectured them, not to go near the river if they were drinking. Because kids do.

I believe that there is so much in the media and online that most kids are aware of this. Some are going after the fact to draw the smilies.

Keep in mind if you look at a map, these occur in places where there are large and/or numerous bodies of water.

College kids go to bars, get intoxicated and, being unfamiliar to the area or disoriented, stumble into the river.

Lack of water in the lungs could be due to hypothermia before death.

I am just so sorry this happens. I wish we could hold them close until they are grown and safe.

With all due respect.............there is no way ALL of these are unfortunate accidents.

When you look at each case and the details of the case, many are to say the least, suspicious.

Not all of the victims were drunk, some had very little to drink. Yes drunk guys will do stupid things around water but usually in a GROUP, not when alone. And definitely not when they say "They are chasing me....." for example.

But this is easy to dismiss as accidental, another reason they've gotten away with it.

Lack of water in lungs could also be because the victim was placed in the water unconscious resulting in less water breathed in........

Let's not forget the gentleman who woke up in the river, missing clothes, had no idea how he got there........last memory at the bar........went to hospital/interviewed by police..........

I think these people a being murdered for their identity. Is it possible to get social security or some other type of benefits/money from their name, assuming they had some inside help? Maybe thats why the fbi won't get involved. Like a sicko, underground 401k plan?

Interesting thought. It would be a long time until retirement for a college student's identity. But maybe for other uses?

Pop culture and movies like "Munich" may make them out to be invincible, but they screw up a lot. Even during the real life events that "Munich" is based upon, the Mossad screwed up a lot. They murdered an innocent Gypsy man named Ahmed Bouchiki in Norway in front of his pregnant wife because they thought he was an Arab guy they were after. Most of the Mossad agents involved in the murder even got arrested by Norwegian police and convicted because they reused the getaway car to go to the airport! Spielberg left all of that out of the movie. At the end, the movie says they killed the Arab terrorist in Beirut, which they eventually did do, but Spielberg left out the fact that they murdered a German nun, a British student and others and injured many in the process.

They've had a lot of failures over the years. Just in the past 15 years, they've had several very notable failures.

They botched the assassination attempt of Khaled Meshaal and were exposed for forging Canadian passports.

FWIW, I've worked on this case off and on for several years. I've been off for a couple of years now. But, IIRCC, it was with regard to Paul Moore, that someone contacted us and said there was actually a 'suicide note' from him. I think he knew the family or something. Anyway, sorry, I don't have a link off-hand, but I believe it's in the pages here somewhere on WS.

I know it sounds strange for how his body was found, but this person who contacted us said it was really hurtful to the family to have his name keep coming up with the rest.

To show how sometimes deceiving it can be, a few months ago a woman's body was found in the trunk of her car just up the street from my daughter in Oceanside, Ca. As the story went, she and her live-in b/f had an argument and she took off the day before.....he woke up the next day, she wasn't back and after a few hours he reported her missing, then went looking for her car and he found it and LE found her body in the trunk. Police said there was no sign of trauma or anything.

In the end, she'd purchased three or so bottles of wine, parked, drank the wine and took some medication and crawled in the trunk from the back seat where she'd died. We learned later she had periodic depression and had just lost her job and..................it was intentional.

Sad, sad, story.

I feel differently...almost like jon lacina...found in a stairwell...they ruled it a drunken accident...I feel the people behind these "disappearances" or "drownings" or even "suicides"...in some cases...are making some look like these things...or having them "staged" as so.

I believe it is either masonic, catholic, or some other wide spread group involved in secrecy. My roommate brought up a great point that priests who visit prisons in the area listen to inmates give up the worst secrets, its very possible to groom people through the word and gain power as most of these priests have aged quite a bit in the past 15-20 years.

The masonic temple here has only a front entrance you can use, but is located next to an underground parking garage *just for people living in the apartments located above the garage* and has a back door located above the river, im not sure how far but will be checking in the next few days. Far fetched, but thats usually how it goes.

We asked my friend about the pattern (east west, east west, east west, north south) and he stated that priests do this pattern during mass for the gospel? he also stated it was priests always doing three, but it starts at the head...possibly 2 missed drownings before the killings were noticed? I lost the chart of killings so ill look into that and then start with unidentified/nobody deaths in eau claire or north of here in 1996 or 1997.
