Drew Peterson returns to Will County court, gets new judge

As Drew Peterson was brought into a Will County courtroom Friday morning for his first court appearance in 1-1/2 years, a bailiff gave the standard admonition that no one in the gallery was to communicate with anyone in custody.

Remaining true to character, Peterson waved his arm and said, “That would be me.”

Humph..... always the jokester, 'eh? I pray with all my might that one day soon they wipe that smug grin off his droopy chin. He's just smugly.

Drew would continue joking right up until the switch is pulled to the electric chair he sits in. That smugly smile would get frozen in place and I'm okay with that.

I like that fact that there isn't a "Drew Peterson" forum around here...thanks for that.

Drew Peterson trial ready to begin
After 2 years of delays, judge sets July 23 jury-selection start date

Peterson told a Will County judge Thursday that he was on board with jury selection starting July 23. His trial on charges he drowned his third wife, Kathleen Savio, would begin July 30.

"Yes, your honor," Peterson told Judge Edward Burmila when asked if he was "comfortable" with that date. "I've been in solitary confinement for three years, your honor."

Awww..... poor Drew..... sniff, sniff... We can only pray that he's put in Gen Population once he's been convicted of murdering Kathleen, then he won't be all alone anymore...... <insert evil grin>

I'm so looking forward to this trial and hope and pray there's justice for Kathleen and Stacy. I only wish is that Stacy's remains could have been found and Drew would be facing double homicides.

I have bookmarked a couple of books about the case that I want to read about the case before the trial. Just to refresh my memory. Three years ago I knew everything printed about it. But I have slept since then and will need to refresh.

Drew Peterson jail exclusive: ‘I’m sick of being called sinister’

“I’m very angry about what has happened to me and my family— and especially the Illinois State Police unexpectedly interrogating my son Tom recently at college and questioning him for hours [about the death of his mother, Kathleen Savio].

“I want them to get off his back,” said Peterson in an exclusive pre-trial interview with Sneed Sunday at Will County jail, where he has been held for the past 1,158 days. “My children have suffered enough.”
