This is also the intersection Lance Williams dropped off the undercover police woman.
The carpark behind Greer is in the vicinity of where Sharon Mason attended Iona along with 2 main victims, although speculation Jane Rimmer had a connection with Iona.

The three main suspected victims were all allegedly heading in this direction to Mosman park from Claremont.

This question of DNA in this case is often asked over and over, so to save some refinding it online, here is a snippet and link

As part of a continuing operation to retest old evidence with new technology, officers from the State Crime Operations team did DNA tests on the kimono.

Police claim the DNA samples came back as a match to samples already on the police database — samples that had been recovered from the body of the third Claremont victim, Ciara Glennon, and from a 17-year-old woman who was grabbed in a Claremont street in 1995 and then assaulted at the nearby Karrakatta cemetery.

It told police that the serial killer they were hunting may have been the same person who dropped the kimono. While the DNA link did not give them a name for that person, it did provide detectives with fresh investigative opportunities contained within the pages of the 1988 case file.

As a result of re-examining that case, it’s understood the major breakthrough — the details of which are not yet clear — came within weeks.

Police say the woman, who was 17 years old at the time, was walking through Rowe Park in Claremont when she was restrained and forced into a vehicle in the early hours of February 12, 1995.

The car was driven about a kilometre away to Karrakatta Cemetery where she was raped, police allege.

Police say the distraught woman then ran to a pharmacy at a nearby hospital, believed to be the Hollywood Private Hospital, where staff arranged for tests to be conducted.

"The young woman, the 17-year-old, she was walking to a friend's place in Gugeri Street near the Claremont Showgrounds and she never made it," he said.

"She made it as far as the Showgrounds subway and a man grabbed her, put something over her head, tied her, up - she said with telephone cable - and bundled her into the back of what she said was a commercial vehicle, and drove her deep into the cemetery, where she was sexually assaulted.
"She told police she didn't see the man, didn't have a description of him and was let go, with no clothes, and ran to Hollywood Hospital, which was on the other side of the cemetery.

"They now know that the person who committed that sexual assault is the Claremont serial killer and if they solve that earlier crime, they will have solved the other three."

Mr Rayney’s lawyer Martin Bennett: “Do you accept that the Claremont serial killer killings were random attacks — the only thing linking Sarah *Spiers, Jane Rimmer, Ciara Glennon being an attendance in *Claremont?”Sergeant Moore replied that he did not accept that: “I have knowledge of that particular job that I can’t particularly enlighten the court about and those — no, I can’t accept that proposition.”

Caldwell was one of the early FBI profilers that contributed in the early stages of the investigation.

snipped Captain David Caldwell South Carolina Police Services. He trained in forensic psychology with FBI specialising in profiling of violent criminals. He says the Perth killer falls into the most pathological category.

Capt Caldwell said the abductions, especially the third amid increased security pointed to a brazen and intelligent criminal.

"When this person is arrested, people are going to be absolutely astounded. (They will say) "I work with this person. He is my next door neighbour. It can't be".

Mr Boudville said the flats were 200m to 300m from the Windsor.

"Sarah seemed pretty relaxed," he said.

"She had her hair up and was dressed in a blouse and dress shorts.

"The man was tall, well dressed, skinny with sharp features, black
hair, with small curls at the back.

Maybe the perpetrator wanted police find the bodies and chose specific locations.

Dr. Ananth Pullela, a forensic psychiatrist working for the health department and justice ministry, said the killer was deliberately spacing the bodies to avoid detection.

“We found one south of Perth, this time in the north; I’m suggesting we should carefully be looking at bushland east of Perth,” Dr. Pullela told ABC radio.

“They (criminals) try to dispose of the bodies in different directions mainly to avoid detection.

Dr. Pullela said the killer was trying to leave no clues to the location where the murders occurred.

“I think he was trying to disguise the crime scene,” he said.

Dr. Pullela said the lack of care in disposing of the two bodies so that they would not be found challenged the police profile of the killer.

Police have described the principal behind the three murders as a controlled man who had carefully planned the abductions and murderers.

“If he’s so meticulous in disposing of the bodies, why hasn’t he taken more precautions by disposing of the bodies in a much better way,” Dr. Pullela said.

“I’m actually targeting a disturbed psychological state. Is this man disturbed at this point of time, not realising that by leaving the bodies metres away from a very busy road they could be detected?”
