First I have heard of this thanks!!

The name 'Wayne' is certainly a popular name with serial killers.

Sounds like a wonderful fellow, doesn't he??

Boyer has pleaded guilty to killing a woman in North Carolina and faces murder charges in slayings in Tennessee and South Carolina. His most recent confession came last month. The similarities of the cases and the apparent lack of remorse from Boyer have investigators encouraging their counterparts along highways around the Southeast to review unsolved killings and missing person files. Even his own attorney in the North Carolina case felt uneasy around him and wondered what else he might have done.

"I think there are a lot more. There's no telling. This guy traveled all over the country. Hopefully we'll get more of these cases solved through DNA," said detective Scott Smith of the Hickman County, Tenn., sheriff's office.

So many wonderful people out there, and then there are the sick few, who simply don't repect other human beings. :(

I saw this a while ago on AOL. I was looking over it. Wonder if he's ever been to Atlantic City?

Betcha' he's good for MANY more. This is the first time he's been arrested, if I recall. But he has been questioned before. They should try and find photos of him as his aged progressed from 18. They could put it on the airwaves and see what comes up. Who knows, someone may recognize him.

Scary dude!

JMHO

PS....any unsolved disappearance and, or murders, of petit females in Augusta, Ga area? I think I saw where he lived with his mom there. :(

Glad her family knows, but I doubt that it will give them closure. Wish they could have matched the DNA to both sooner.

Wonder if there are more that have not been brought to our attention.

Serial killer investigation takes off after Darlington body Id'd
http://www2.scnow.com/news/2011/sep...estigation-takes-after-darlington-ar-2434111/

Darlington County investigators say they're receiving calls from other investigators all across the Southeast, following a press conference held last Tuesday in which they not only closed an 11-year-old murder case but also tied the death to a man whom they're calling a serial killer.
....

Locklair and Byrd said that Boyer is a suspect in as many as three to four other unsolved murders across the Southeast and hoped that their investigation would help other families find closure as well.
"I don't think we've seen the last of John Wayne Boyer when it comes to unsolved cases," Locklair said.
"He was a truck driver, he's been many places and typically if you've killed three people that we know of right now, then who's to say that's where he stopped or who's to say that's where he started."

Ain't that the truth!! And mean people in general. My ex has Wayne as a middle name and he is an abusive SOB!!

CUE Center Executive Director Monica Caison said the closure of the Haggadone case and the subsequent investigations into other cases that followed, showed them that there may be many other victims out there as well that have not yet been identified or tied to Boyer. "That set the wheels in motion to investigators starting to look at other things, and that was a validation for me as well with many, many other cases that I believe he's involved with," Caison said.

The CUE Center set up a website with information on Boyer, including multiple pictures of him from at different points in his life, as well as information on semi trucks he was known to drive, victims who have already been identified and information on potential victims as well.

Could he be linked to( I think her first name is dail) forgive my memory...I-20 from Columbia sc goes straight to darlington..just thinking out loud

"We hit the entire I-10 (interstate), stopping at different truck stops and I couldn't believe the people that knew him and we couldn't believe the people who would come forth saying, oh, we have like five or six jane doe (cases) here...and I was just like, oh my God, this is going to be a larger task than I thought," Caison said.

I missed seeing this before. Just looked up I-10 and it runs all the way across the country - from Jacksonville, FL to LA. That was quite a trip for Caison. This thread is titled NC/SC/TN but it looks like Boyer is suspect from coast to coast.

Truckers are required by law to keep a log book of their travels. Hopefully, the FBI is reviewing the logs to find out when and where Boyer travelled across the country.

I wonder if he could be responsible for some of the I-40 murders also. FBI has info and maps on their site. I'll see if I can locate it and post.

Saw this when I was reading about Wilmington NC murders http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20110919/WIRE/110919699

Here are some sound bites: "as he picked up prostitutes around the Southeast, killed them and dumped their bodies near interstate highways."

"Boyer has pleaded guilty to killing a woman in North Carolina. He faces murder charges in slayings in Tennessee and South Carolina and authorities said he confessed to both of those crimes."

"Boyer also seemed to target women who were especially small. "
