He seems to be SAYING all the right things in this interview...

Man, I wish I was not so jaded....

I truly wish we would not be so jaded, too, or at least keep it at bay until evidence is available supporting our theory -- this man appears to be getting his life on track after years of "urban living" to me!

Respectfully, we are all human.

Now I am thinking about all the "baby-mommas" & jealousy issues . . .

The question mark is where Lane was "allegedly" spotted at 8am, I question it because it is suspect to me because we also "know" that Lane "claims" he dropped off his 15 y.o. nephew at 8:10 that same morning. If the 15 y.o. goes to Pershing HS then this is not even possible. Check out the map to see what I mean. I am such a VISUAL person and these help me out when thinking through a case..

Let me know your thoughts once you review...

When a person who knows someone says they saw them, i usually believe it - that's a much better sighting than someone who thinks they saw someone who looks like the subject.

Back to the map. His timeline that morning is so unclear to me. He apparently left at 7:30, and I guess had to pick up the nephew somewhere? The next time there is pretty clear verification of where Lane was, was approx. 8:10 when the nephew arrived at school. Times aren't necessarily exact.

So if he was spotted by the acquaintance near the bus stop a few minutes before 8, and dropped off the nephew closer to 8:15, that looks very doable to me. I don't know what traffic is like there at that time, but everything looks like a desolate abandoned shell of a town to me - it doesn't seem traffic is a big issue.

He was somewhere between 7:30 and 8:10 - he didn't go straight to the school - that would have taken a matter of a couple minutes.

Does anyone know about where the nephew was picked up?

The police need to let him know they will help him in any way to get his daughter back. IMO this about money he owes.

Not 100% sure - the feasibility of his route that morning depends on where that 15 y.o. attends school. If he goes to Pershing, then there is no way...

As for traffic it is still just like any large city - tons of traffic. The thing with Detroit is that most people commute to downtown Detroit but live in the suburbs. Traffic is typically lighter on a Friday but the traffic is still bad due to the VAST majority of people commuting INTO downtown Detroit.

Traffic is actually an issue, especially around some of the bigger streets that he was near, like E. Grand. Traffic around schools is always bad in the early mornings. Think about other warzones, you know there are people everywhere, but often everything looks deserted, because the people are afraid to come out of their homes? It's kind of like that.

Local news starting now: www.clickondetroit.com

Interview with dad. Two other daughters of D'Andre were also in the home with him that morning. Attorney won't allow Lane to answer question about what happened to Bianca. Lane will start classes at WCCC next month. Lane has failed polygraph. Lane willing to take another since he was under duress for the first LDT.

Volunteer searches ongoing. Checking vacant homes/property. Looking for any signs of Bianca. Searchers seem to think that something is going on that needs to be investigated and that Bianca might be safe somewhere.

The police need to let him know they will help him in any way to get his daughter back. IMO this about money he owes.

I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he was honestly carjacked, it would have been hard for him to call LE for any reason, just considering his history, and that would be multiplied if this were because of drugs or something personally related to him. If there was trust to be built, I think LE blew some of that trust right off the bat. They not only arrested him, they arrested him and publicized it, even though he has, in the past, tried to protect his children and family from being affected by his arrests and time incarcerated.

Lane was arrested Monday on an unrelated charge for violating a Personal Protection Order to stay away from an ex-wife.

sure doesn't sound like a traffic violation ^^^ so when exactly and how exactly was this violated???

I don't honestly think he intentionally killed her. I think his "punishment" got out of control. She could have still been alive when nephew was dropped off, just in shock or a coma. I'm don't think nephew really checked. Baby was probably in the back seat and nephew sat up front.

I can picture some guy driving around Detroit, slamming his fist on the steering wheel, trying to figure out what to do with the baby as it is obvious she is about to pass away.

Morning all...

I updated the map last night - let me know if you want me to add or change anything...

Great job, LanieFI - Thanks for all your hard work on this.

Thanks for the maps. Do you have a source for the father being seen near a bus stop that appears to be in/near Highland Park? I haven't heard this but do recall from an early report that someone in the house on Mitchell attended school in Highland Park. Since the Mitchell Street address is listed as a tax-exempt site for the National Association of University Women, I wonder if the girlfriend is a teacher or has some connection to a school in Highland Park? Just noodling... but why would Bianca's dad have been at a bus stop when he was driving his car when it was allegedly car-jacked at another location :waitasec: jmo

I was wondering the same thing. If father left his house at 7:30-7:35 a.m. and headed to the high school to drop off his nephew, he could have been to the bus stop at 8:00 - correct? Are those streets one-way? Is that the most likely route?
Then he proceeds on to the high school and drops off the nephew at 8:10.
I am not sure of the time, but surveillance/security cameras at the community college show that he was there before the car-jacking took place.
Now he heads back to the place of the car-jacking, leaves the car.
He runs to Bianca's mother's house, arriving at 9:45 (?) and LE is notified 15-20 minutes later.

Would someone please help me out with the timeline of being at the college, time of car-jacking and time of arrival at mother's home, and time LE is notified - I'm just going from memory - thanks

Note: For those who are wondering about traffic in Detroit: While some photos make it look like the city is desolate, many suburban folks still work in the city (DH did until three years ago). Morning and afternoon rush hours are similar to other major cities - heavy traffic on all major thoroughfares leading into/out of Detroit. No mass transit here, and bus service is limited.

Also, there are many thriving enterprises in downtown Detroit: Comerica Park (baseball), Joe Louis Arena (hockey), Ford Field (football), Detroit Opera House, Fisher Theatre, Fox Theatre, The Max (Detroit Symphony), casinos, restaurants, etc. Many folks from the 'burbs travel to these venues for arts, entertainment, sports.

How credible is the story about the child in the home witnessing the dad beating the 2 yr old to unresponsiveness, the night before she went missing? If that is a true story, then we can discount the car jacking and the drug debt scenario, imo.

Well...what do you guys all think???

He sounded really sincere to me. Seems like an intelligent, well spoken, handsome young man who truly loves his daughter. He isn't a violent criminal, that we know of, is he? I know his story sounds outrageous, he failed a LDT, etc...

I have such a hard time with these things. I see someone like DB or Dandre and I just can't see them harming their child. I don't know. Looking forward to everyone's thoughts.

Where are you precious BeBe?

What story? I am a bit behind on this thread. Is there a link or something?

Sources tell us a child who was in the home Thursday evening, the day before all of this happened, told police that she saw Lane beating Bianca and the two-year-old may have been unresponsive following the incident.

Lane has admitted to police that he did discipline the child,
but it's what happened next that sources believe he's lying about. He says carjackers took off with his daughter still in his vehicle Friday morning, but police have found no evidence to support the story.

~snip~

"I don't know anything about his story. My thoughts are all on my daughter. My thoughts are all on getting Bianca back," said Banika Jones, Bianca's mother.

Her mother told FOX 2 that as of Monday afternoon, Lane had not tried to contact her.

Right now, for the Jones family, he doesn't matter. All that matter is finding Bianca. The question is could the father hold the key to finding her.

ETA: He admits that he did 'discipline' the child. She had just turned two yrs old. What does a 24 month old child do that deserves 'discipline.'?

Well at least D is doing a heck of a lot more than Debbie, Lena, or Julia, by talking. I gotta give him credit for that. People that kill/lie have a tendency to want to stay AWAY from the camera. D sat there for 14 minutes!

That doesn't mean guilty people don't sit for interviews (Scott Peterson). But it would be hard for D to sit there and lie and fake the entire interview unless he had a personality disorder (again, like S Peterson).

I'm jaded to the nth degree, but I am always pleased when a parent makes a heartfelf plea like D did. It gives me reason to hope.

I'd like to know if the beating the night before is true, and if the other child in the car in fact saw B in the car that morning. I have a hard time trying to reconcile that D killed B after he dropped off the other child at school. What would be that reason?

I will continue to be hopeful.

I am thinking that she was already near death because of the beating the night before. Since it was 7:30 am when everyone piled into the car, she could have been all bundled up and looked like she was sleeping at the time.
I think that after the older kids were dropped off, at that time, Dad had to make a decision. Should he take her to the ER, and immediately be arrested and returned to prison? Or should he set up the carjacking story? It may have been easy to dispose of her because he convinced himself that she was already near death. He was just putting her out of her misery.
