I'm thinking, 25,000 thousand dollar reward? That is it? With all the public intrest in donating funds and resources? I'm not trying to be a smarty pants, Kyron is worth so much more than that!

Where can I write my check so we can raise that amount?

You are now in the Kyron Horman forum. this thread will be closing ina little bit, so please start breaking out the conversation.

I don't see much being discussed about the neighbor's house that was searched. In the video below, the reporter says "Officer's searched a house right across the street from where the Horman's live".

According to PortlandMaps (http://www.portlandmaps.com/) the Horman's live where the red dot is in my picture. The highlighted property is "right across the street". The home is owned by DG. He shows another address as his home address which is about 7 miles South of here. When I did a reverse addy search on this address, I get that same name. So my question is who lives here? Is this a rental? Is this house empty? I will keep looking.

Yes, fishing and all sorts of rec, as just posted. It used to be one of my favorite fishing places (before I discovered gardening). Now it's one of my favorite nursery haunts.

However, the area of water they are searching is the Multnomah Channel, next to the highway. The channel is not prime fishing, but people poodle around in it. The channel is lined with floating homes in the area the are searching.
The entire island is between that water, and the river itself.
The Port of Portland is an 'ocean port'... ships can come all the way up the Columbia from the Pacific.
The river is also a little confusing in that the Willamette & Columbia run north (so up is out).

We were there on Sunday and they were searching all over the island, not just along the perimeter. There is also lake fishing on SI.

There is another link too I could grab, saying the Horman's truck was towed and the house across the street searched.

Hi Ocean, About the truck I found this:

"If you go to http://www.koinlocal6.com/default.aspx and scroll down about half way you will see a "Special Features" tab with a thumbnail picture of searchers looking for Kyron and a link to an article called "Investigators looking for new clues". Underneath that link is the following text: "It has been 12 days since Kyron Horman was last seen. Investigators are searching new areas and providing more pictures to try to solicitate more tips from the public. Investigators also towed a truck from the Horman property and searched a neighbor's home."
BBM

No... click on link titled "Prayer vigil for hope". The video connected to the photo of searchers is not the same one that has the blurb about the truck.

At 5:08, you can see the truck being loaded on the towtruck and the reporter goes on to say that LE said it was "towed at the family's request to a dealership because of mechanical problems".

KOIN should edit their online copy to remove the error you quote above.

LOL I dunno, I love Scandi! :blowkiss:

But that is strange to me though because from what a reporter said LE told them a truck was being towed for the Horman property due to mechanical problems. It seems LE did want the media to know it wasnt being towed by LE but it was going in for repairs.

That may be why they told the news site to pull it or the media may have found out it didnt belong to one of the parents at all but someone who had been visiting at the Horman home. I know I sure wouldn't appreciate the media putting my vehicle out on the news if it was just going to the shop to be repaired.

IMO

There are two separate video reports posted the same day. The one with the info about the truck is not the one with the thumbnail of searchers. The link should lead directly to the "prayer vigil for hope" report, and the truck is at ~5:08.

Hi Ocean, Interesting about editing the video. I found it on Google, played it and thought they'd made a mistake as it wasn't there.

I think I read that yesterday about the truck belonging to Kaine and the red mustang to Terri {in the same sentence}. Now is when I wish we had a forum so we could go to the 'truck' thread. LOL I'll look. xox

PS: I think there are several things that have been pulled from the local news. I bet if LE objects to something going out to the public all they have to do is make a call and 'poof', it's gone !!!

Scandi, the police cannot control the press---USA has "free press!" I think it is more likely that articles are pulled when they are found to contain errors.

Here is the truck being driven up the ramp. Looks like it was drivable IMO and hope this works:

I also found this link which is a bit diferent:
http://www.koinlocal6.com/default.aspx

I found this.

It has been 12 days since Kyron Horman was last seen. Investigators are searching new areas and providing more pictures to try to solicitate more tips from the public. Investigators also towed a truck from the Horman property and searched a neighbor's home.

About ownership, I found a photo taken when the family visited the grandfather's farm that shows the same truck. I'm not bringing it here as I don't think we need a photo of him here out of respect.

just a couple of quick comments. I don't think the truck was being driven up the ramp. Usually they pull the vehicle up onto the ramp by using chains and winches. Also, the article saying that LE had the truck towed away is flat out wrong. In the video on that same page, LE explains about the tow.

the top looks right, but this thing is taller, so it could be a bee box, but are any of them metal????? Maybe a mail box but I never saw one like that unless someone made this thing!

I have never seen a metal bee box, all I've ever seen is wood, and one place has a couple that look like they could be a sort of plastic (Like those fake wooden fences) We don't have an inordinate amount of bee keepers around here, but I know of several where I go to purchase wild honey.......I would think that bees would fry in a metal container! But I live in Louisiana and our temperatures get slightly hotter than Oregon in the summer, I bet!

For a DA to be visiting the house before Kyron is found, for a DA to be visiting the house before a suspect is charged--well, I don't think he's there to answer their questions. My guess is that he is there to ask questions, maybe get clarification on their whereabouts on the day Kyron disappeared, possibly why evidence doesn't match statements, that kind of stuff--the DA is, after all, the person who will present the case to the grand jury and ask for an indictment, whenever that is done.

Ethan Stacy was contacted by the DA re the death penalty etc because there were already two suspects in custody and prosecution's work had begun.

My opinion only, and just based on what I think.
Isn't that highly unusal for a DA to visit a home of a missing child? Anyone know? Or does it relate to the fact that the SD is in LE?

Regarding a separate forum:

I think it would save everyone's sanity especially Mods. as this case is not going away and national attention is seems to be just picking up ex. HLN. It would save the round and around, plus those that just want to focus on certain aspects of the case could & bypass the rest...so less squabbling so to speak. I have to say this...given the mystery of this case, etc. everyone has been so civil!!! Hats off to the mods for keeping a handles on rumors but also the "high-level" of posters here working together and understanding, everyone has an opinion and every cares for Kyron and we agree to disagree!
