Just some info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogrish.com

ogrish.com as a site like gore. Since beginning of November 2006 Ogrish.com redirects to LiveLeak.com which was registered in October 2006, featuring mostly user submitted videos and allowing the embedding of media on other sites.

The site hosted many graphic videos of violent events, without the permission of the families of the people shown.[1] This has led to heated arguments concerning the rights of the people pictured and the nature of the pictures and videos on the site. For example, in 2002, graphic pictures and videos of the jumpers of the September 11, 2001 attacks were displayed on the site. The site was targeted for hacking attacks from Koreans after Ogrish uploaded the execution video of Kim Sun-il during the summer of 2004.[2]

I hate sites like Ogrish and usually try not to click a link going to anything like it.
That being said, after the Christmas Tsunami several years ago, I was starved for news and video. Ogrish was actually the BEST site to find Tsunami info and videos during the first few weeks. I don't really recall seeing anything gory while doing that specific search.
In fact, I was more horrified at the mainstream news when they posted the story about the mom that had her two kids in her arms and had to make the decision to let one go. How could they air something like that knowing that since both children did survive, that the mother chose one over the other.

I keep getting the feeling he sent it far away, so it would show up last. Or he hid it somewhere to keep as a trophy. When I think of that it just makes me angry.....I really feel for his family. Grrrrrr.

I also had the thought that it may have been sent to the UK reporter as he did say 'he would be back'.

Though, it is often quicker to send something from Canada to the UK than it is to send something a short distance in Canada. At least this was the case the last time I checked. Odd but true. Canada's postal system is frustrating.

EDIT: Although, the first packages did get to Ottawa reasonably quickly (for Canada) and it could simply be held up in the mail somewhere.

Hello....is it right that investigators still don't know where the head is? I wondered if there was any info out there on this.

Thanks

Again, things sent overseas would be subject to border checks...customs, that sort of thing. One would think it wouldn't make it out of the country? Of course, given that a mailman drove around in a truck with two foul smelling boxes in the middle of a Canada wide horror story of missing parts and didn't think to check them and report it to LE, anything is possible.

No word on the head yet and I sure would like to know what this idiot did with it. I am sure there is more to come.

This guy...no words.

"Luka" is apparently a unisex version of the name "Luke", meaning "bringer of light".

Rocco is also a French saint, who ask for a cure of "contagion of sin."

Magnotta--Italian word magno (magnus) means "great"

Interesting. Who knows what was in his mind when he changed his name.
"contagion of sin."

http://calgary.openfile.ca/blog/calgary/2012/whats-name-specifically-name-luka-rocco-magnotta

Funny because Rocco and Magnotta are Italian. Luca spelled with a C is Italian (it's the short version of the Italian name Luciano). There is no "K" in the Italian alphabet.

Well this isnt an argument about someones right TO MAKE such a film, nobody has a right to make that film.

But as far as people viewing it, you can view all sorts of grisly crime scene photos all over the net or even buy CSI text books that have even worse stuff in them so its not like this sort of thing is unprecedented and for purposes of study and research I dont see what the problem is.

Those grisly crime scene photos in that CSI textbook cannot be reproduced or distributed without permission, so consent of at least family is required, depending on the jurisdiction. This is clearly not the case in a snuff video that is distributed worldwide on the web or, indeed, in that camera you've installed in my bathroom so that you can me watch me while I suds (* an entirely fictional and untargeted example *).

And rights are contingent on other rights -- you don't have the right to spend the cash that someone else robbed the bank of, because it is the product of a criminal act. Video X is also the product (and record) of a criminal act -- gaining that access is a 2nd-order infringement of that victim's rights and that, it seems to me, outweighs your (our) right to watch it.

I just don't see the crucial free speech implications here, I really don't. And I am in my life and work absolutely committed to FS principles. And I actually think that the importance of video X as research is a separate question -- as a number of others have pointed out, non-specialists are not guaranteed access to all sorts of interesting research material. I may be a hobby epidemiologist but good luck trying to find a lab willing to lend me a smallpox culture to raise in my home. So even if do grant that video X is critical to our understanding of LRM's distinctive sociopathy (or whatever the **&%! it is), it doesn't follow that we all get a crack at making something of it, just as we couldn't sign up for an interview session with Bundy or Williams or Homolka.

I am in no way saying that those who watched video X are bad people or criminals or inhuman ghouls, merely that the "right" to watch it is imagined or accidental or something else.

Again, IMO

I totally agree. Timeline is important. But the fact that he logged onto his computer at 8:54 am on the morning of the 24th is not an important detail as it is known he showed up at his job later in the day, left it around 5pm AND communicated with his friends up to 9pm. This is known. Lets put our efforts into shoaring what has yet to be discovered.

I guess I shouldn't have posted, :) I have lots of info that I haven't added but since it is already determined that it is not, I'll keep writing in the other forum I was writing before. :)

I'm inclined to think he got it from the game, especially since he doesn't pronounce it properly. It should sound more like "man yo tah" if the Italian pronunciation is used. Makes me think he never heard it said out loud, but then I've never played the game so not sure if it is ever spoken during.

I used to work with a person with this surname and it was pronounced in a decidedly North American manner. Mag-not-uh. This was in the US.

wow, a lot to catch up on.. I too am new but do have a couple of questions:

1st, I read on here regarding body parts (hand & foot) being found outside a school in Acapulco. Yes, I know Mexico is notorious for its drug cartels but has any of those parts been identified to belong to rival gangs.

What if LM met the 66 year old, retired Mexican Airlines employee, HM and HM being much older want to impress the younger LM by taking him on a vacation to Mexico? He would assume he would have free access to fly anytime being retire from an airline.

Has anyone looked into seeing if HM flew out of the country around the time of the murders in Acapuco? Did he have a companion on the flight? If yes, could there be hotel footage of the two in Acapulco that could finally connect LM with HM?

I know it is a far fetched thought but I had to ask

Oh, the other question is regard the so called snuff film? How do we know he was already murdered on the tape? Couldn't he have been heavily sedated? I read on here that ML was interested in the drugs to sedate.

Welcome to WS!!! Not sure about Acapulco, but here is what I was putting together about HM.

- Left his home on 12/26/2011
- Family continued to hear from him until 1/4/2012
- Reported Missing 1/9/2012
- Lived in De Longpre Building
- Head found 1/17/2012
- Once owned a Las Feliz Condominium with someone
- Was picked up at his apartment by someone, and told his friend that he was going on a "business trip to Tijuana, Mexico".

It really depends on how well the package was wrapped and what kind of description was given. When I was fat, I used to order diet pills from Germany because they weren't approved here yet. Never had a problem and I know that was illegal.
I'll go one further. I have a 19 year old son that thinks he's untouchable and had the nerve to order 'shroom spores from Canada in order to grow his own 'shrooms to sell. The box was marked "Horticulture Supplies". Fortunately, I got the mail first and intercepted his package. As most of you other moms know, we have what I call "shady b***S*** radar" and was able to confront him and destroy the package myself.
Seriously though, how the hell does that kind of crap make it across borders?

I'm not saying he sent the head to dude in the UK, but it is possible.

OMGosh, I can't.catch.up!

Anyway ya'll could slow down a little bit? :please::floorlaugh:

Koukla, one persons opinion of what should be discussed does not constitute the entire boards opinion!

You posted one of the most unique finds on the board today. Please continue to share it, as, I am sure there are others who think that is very relevant.

No please do not stop posting, any information or findings is importing imo

The fact that there is disagreement on whether this video should be on the internet is the exact reason that in every society someone has to be selected to make decisions on what is right and wrong (whether chosen or elected).

Not everyone can just decide what is right and wrong for themselves. That woud be ridiculous.

It is not a perfect answer and it is not totally free. Nothing is perfect and there will never be a totally free, anarchial society and I don't think anyone would want that. Do you think this would even have happened if the internet was not here to post this video? Just a question.

This guy had many pro-Luka vids that seem to be all gone now. He also commented on some of luka's stuff.

Hello All,

First-time commenter here. The link above is to my youtube page. In an attempt to keep somewhat anonymous, I posted under the user-names of Shane Taylor, Shane Tucker, and Eric Newman (very poor judgment on my part, the last one was removed).

These videos are NOT Pro-Luka. I don't know Magnotta and am not associated with him in any way.

Like many on this site, I follow true-crime cases like this. This case concerns me for a couple of reasons. There is ALOT of misinformation being published. There is alot of aggressive rhetoric online without a counter-message that every suspect should get their day in court. It will not be to anyone's advantage if an unbalanced spectator shoots & kills Luka on his way into the courtroom. We need a trial so we can properly sort evidence and get the true story of what happened here.

Magnotta spent his life trying to be famous and when that didn't work out, he settled for infamy. Magnotta himself is part of the reason we have so much misinformation. He wants us to believe he is a “*advertiser censored*-Star, Cannibal, Serial killer.” (Hence why he uploaded these headlines a month before the murder.) However, do we have evidence that he is any of these? Not yet. Have we ruled out that he acted alone? Not yet. Have we confirmed that Magnotta is the one in the murder video? Not yet.

My only point is that we need to tone down rhetoric, reserve our judgments, and collect the facts as they come. I hope not to offend anyone with this message.

No, I just think it is people's right to make those decisions for themselves and when you and those who dont like it can tell me who gets to decide for the rest of us what is good and bad then we can have this conversation again, I dont know of anyone I trust to make those decisions for everyone else. I guess we could appoint the Dali Lama or something in a pinch but last I checked the Buddhists, like me, arent in to deciding what is good for everyone else, that seems to be something Christianity and Islam holds a monopoly on.

While I agree the government should not have the right to censor what Americans watch on the internet, I also feel horrid that their is not a way to protect certain things from hitting the internet.

If I was a parent or sibling of a murder victim and it was being discussed by anyone except LE whether my son penis was attached to his torso during a murder I would be just "lost". I understand both sides of this argument but also cannot fathom that the family of this man must know that his murder/sexuality/naked body/and possible consumption were all placed on the internet for anyone to see. I pray that they live rather primitive in China and don't really understand the depravity of what has happened. I pray this is a case of ignorance is bliss because I cannot imagine how they feel otherwise and will continue to feel as this is not going to go away. I am sick over this... They are so in my thoughts at this time. IMHO
