I can't see that weird eye guy having blondish hair on his arms. errrr....the SECOND weird eye guy.

IF Brianna's body was "posed" when it was found, that would make me think she wasn't his first kill. In a first kill he would want to despose quickly and leave no sightings.

This perp could be from another area. That maybe why they are bringing up the Atlanta case.

He seems to have "graduated" quickly to taking a woman home after raping her, to strangulation and posing a victim and leaving his calling card (panties). This pervert is online alot, on *advertiser censored* sites and probably chat rooms, and probably asking strange women to mail him their panties.

I hope the FBI is looking for related victims in the country, if there has been any. After a body is decomposed, maybe its difficult to see if they are posed, am not sure.

Do we know factually that the killer posed Brianna, and is there a link for this? I'm sorry if it has been posted, but I can't find it. Thank you KR2tonenow:)

This stood out for me: "With the tremendous amount of community support from Brianna, high attendance is anticipated.
Given the limited parking availible, the RTC and the Brianna Denison Memorial Volunteers are asking those wishing to attend the candlelight vigil to park in the south parking lot at Meadowood Mall near the RTC RIDE transfer center.
Transportation to the memorial site will begin at 5.45pm."

How much you wanna bet they're gonna be recording license plate numbers of the cars that park at Meadowood Mall for the vigil?

When I read about the memorial service, my first thought was that LE would be there..........watching the people attending and also checking out vehicles. I hope they do, and hope the suspect does attend.

I'd like to see it too, Nancy Grace was discussing with former FBI profiler
??(name), can't remember last night. That was the information they were deriving from RPD.

I heard it on NG last night and questioned that statement in a post last night.

Last night the guy on NG (I don't remember if he was the former FBI profiler or just a talking head) made it sound like he DID know whether or not the body was posed, but he was specifically asked by RPD NOT to share the state the body was found in - whether it was posed and whether or not the underwear were found with her body, on her body, near her body, etc.

Thank you KR2tonenow, Dad, and aj. Then this is not necessarily fact. It may be a fact that was leaked, but until I hear this from a known, credible source I will keep this and that the panties were left to taunt the police aside as possibilities. I don't disbelieve either of the statements made. I just don't know if either is fact, yet.

In a memo, more than half of the UNR officers agree their department is understaffed and especially now with the ongoing investigation of the Brianna Dennison case.
***
In this memo officers claim director Adam Garcia has ordered them to escort students each night, to unlock cars and charge car batteries. Officers say they are unable to both perform these tasks as well as patrol on a 24/7 basis yet Garcia disagrees.
"Given everything that's happened over the last month, I expect my officers to provide escort services to the community at UNR." He said.
***
Officers said they couldn't comment on camera because Garcia placed a gag order on them on Monday saying there would be diplomacy action if they spoke to the media.

In light of what's happened, the UNR would be prudent to ask for volunteers from among the student population to provide escort services. This would immediately double their policing efforts and allow the uniformed police to continue to patrol the campus. It wouldn't take much to get this up and running.

I live in a fairly large city, and some years ago our local sheriff added "volunteers in policing" to the department. These are citizens who wear a uniform, drive a marked police car, don't carry a gun, and have light training in police work. They're sent out to take reports of minor problems, freeing up the regular police for more important crimes. It's really been a benefit to the whole community.

Hi there Leia:). I think this idea might be worth it for Reno to look into. It seems to be working where you live and in other areas nationwide. I think that our population overall throughout our nation along with technology and an increase in types of crime make it so that LE is chronically understaffed. This idea might help to solve this--or at least dent the problem in a positive way.

I think the "posed" came from Nancy Grace and her legal panel yesterday. On the program, the main topic in this case was the discussion of the underwear left at the scene. NG and most of the legal panel describe leaving the underwear with DNA of the suspect and an unknown woman on them, as the scene being staged or posed.

I don't think this means that Brianna's body was posed in any manner, just that the leaving of the underwear staged/posed the crime scene.

At this point, LE has withheld information on the condition of Brianna's body, and with the exception of the underwear, any other evidence found at the scene. So, we don't know if there was other evidence collected that indicated that the crime scene was staged.

As for the underwear, I think it's a possibility that the police already know who manufactured the underwear and what local stores in Reno carried them as part of their merchandise line. If a woman does come forward and claim the underwear, they'll ask where she bought them to verify she is the owner of the underwear.

I think that the only people who used the term "posed" or refer to a "calling card" are the talking heads who want to make their stories more dramatic... I read some of the Nancy Grace transcript and she really does make me ill... She may have been a good prosecutor and may do a service by getting the word out on cases like this, but she is extremely tacky in the way she does it.
In the transcript she tried baiting the spokesperson for the family into saying something that may or may not be information that is not supposed to be public. I don't know if the family knows for a fact any sort of timeline, but the police have been adamant that they will not release that information to the public.
So if the family knows things that are not for the public, Nancy Grace could be giving information that could jeopardize the whole case.
I don't have a lot of respect or give much credit to anyone who appears on a show like that as an expert. There are good reporters who can get relevant information without worrying about boosting their ratings.

I don't want to be insensitive, but think of what no one outside of the investigators and the killer know that no one else does. No one knows where the panties were in relation to the body. What about her state of dress? If she is partially dressed, that could mean one thing, if she was undressed and redressed that could be another. So in a way, saying that a body is posed is sort of generic. If the perp did not go to extreme measures to hide and prevent identification of her body, you could say that it was posed.

Also, unless Nancy Grace knows that the killer has a particular fetish, she can't even begin to speculate about his calling card. The only thing that anyone knows is that he has previous victims and that the crimes have now escalated to murder. His "MO" is also not anything that should be counted on, because an MO is something that changes as situations call for them. His signature is nothing that has become apparent yet. The police may know something that we don't, but I don't think that there is anything that anyone can point to and call a definitive pattern. This guy has a serious issue with women and himself, and he is lashing out. I always think it sounds so cheesy and like such a cliche but his crimes are absolutely about control. He can't control where his life is and lusts for and also resents young women who are in control of theirs.

Ok, off my soap box... I just took a long time to say how much I despise Nancy Grace. :furious:

from what i understand, they found some packaged condoms at the site with the suspects DNA on it...he must have dropped them?
Ah, okay, thank you c_e!! I had heard about the condom DNA, but didn't realize it was from the 10/22 attack. Thanks for the info.

As long as the volunteers provided DNA first, that's a great idea! But, can you imagine if they just accepted anyone, with no testing, and the perp volunteered to keep women safe??
