Common errors and mistaken interpretations in transcripts etc.

It seems to me that we keep repeating the same conversations over the same erroneous transcripts over and over again, and I think we need a general erratum thread so that we have a place where we can refer back to whenever the same issue pops up again.

I'm thinking any controversy about similar things could also go in this thread.

It's hard to hear because Nancy speaks on top of her but TN says "my son picked her up". It's at the very end of this video.

And another: Did Ronald say his cousin was there or not?

GRACE: Let`s go to the source and find out. To Marlaina Schiavo. Marlaina, who was in the home that evening?

SCHIAVO: She had a cousin visiting from out of town earlier. And so he was in the home at some point, but we`re still trying to figure out exactly how that`s all pieced together, Nancy.

GRACE: Miss Neves, are you aware of anyone else in the home that evening? I don`t mean when they all go to bed, I mean earlier that evening.

NEVES: I heard there was a repairman there. My mother was actually over.

GRACE: I`m sorry, I couldn`t hear you. There was a repairman there. The cousin was there who police have investigated.

NEVES: Yes, ma`am.
GRACE: Who else?

NEVES: My mother came by that night.

GRACE: For what reason?

CUMMINGS: My cousin went in there.

NEVES: She brought some clean clothes over.

GRACE: OK.

NEVES: She had some of the kid`s clothes at her house and she had washed them and brought them over. That was sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. that night.

He's hard to hear again but a lot of people thought that Ronald actually says, "cousin wasn't there", or wuddn't (southern) (at about 7:18)

The "my cousin wuddn't there" makes more sense than "... went in there."
I've heard that fractured contraction all my life, too. I sometimes slip and say it myself.

Good idea for a thread, if we could all agree on something..lol. Here is one i saw just this morning about what Rc said on NG about the cousin being in the trailer the night Haleigh went missing.

The dispute is what TN says: She says "the cousin"......the question should be why did Ron personalize it and make it about MY cousin? Whether that cousin "went" or "wuddn't" there......Teresa first said "the cousin."

For whatever it's worth, I don't hear Ron saying "my cousin", I'd have said he says "cousin wasn't there", or "the cousin".
