"It's February 1, 2012, about 8pm, closing time. Koenig is shown handing Keyes a cup of coffee, then backing away with her hands up, as if it's a robbery.
The lights go out and Keyes next appears as a fuzzy image climbing through the drive-thru window.
Authorities outlined his next steps:
Keyes forced Koenig to his Silverado; he'd already bound her hands with zip ties and gagged her.
He hid her in a shed outside his house, turned on loud music so no one could hear if she screamed, then returned to the coffee shack to retrieve scraps of the restraints and get her phone.
On February 2, Keyes raped and strangled Koenig. He left her in that shed, flew to Houston and embarked on a cruise, returning about two weeks later.
He then took a photo of Koenig's body holding a February13 newspaper to make it appear she was alive.
Keyes wrote a ransom note on the back, demanding $30,000 be placed in her account. He texted a message, directing the family to a dog park where the note could be found. Her family deposited some money from a reward fund."

Analysis Confirms 2008 Missing Hiker’s Remains

WEST GLACIER, MONT. - Bone fragments found in Glacier National Park last summer have been analyzed by the National Missing Person's Program at the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification and identified as those of Yi-Jien Hwa, a hiker missing in the park since the summer of 2008.
The analysis positively matched the bone fragments to Hwa, and several pieces of evidence were found that closely match the items identified in Hwa's equipment list. The park has contacted Hwa's family and closed the investigation.

The search effort began August 21, 2008 after receiving word from Hwa's family that he was three days overdue from a lengthy and arduous planned hike in the park's backcountry.

Well now. Isn't that special. Didn't he just know that he had the world all figured out, thought he was special and had some kind of enlightenment, that he knew so much more about 'how it really is' and weren't his the only wise eyes able to see the shortcomings of man and the denial and loss of self within society. So brooding to be alone in your genius and so romantic to be so self aware of the depths of his own darkness. Wasn't he just so smart while the rest of the world is just so stupid and shallow. Unlike him we are too stupid to even ask the questions much less figure out the answers like he has. Ugh. As if being a complete freak, psychopath, spiritually bankrupt piece of s---, he had to add intellectual conceit to the list, like a little rotten cherry right on top. Such a p**** to blame society for his flawed and weak character.

I understand. I just had wondered why, if their "journalistic standards" were so "high," they kept the PDF out there anyway. Certainly, they have secure internal servers on which to keep documents?

In any event, I hate censorship. Which cryptogram was it that the FBI failed to solve but 2 people did - was it Zodiac? His note might actually reveal something to another discerning eye.

Serial killer Israel Keyes was willing to make a deal. He would give investigators the location of two bodies, a name and maybe, if he felt like it, a murder weapon. The price? A cigar, he said cheerfully.

In roughly 15 hours of newly released audio from jailhouse interviews with Keyes, the calculated killer discussed his motives, triggers and limits as he teased investigators with tidbits of information about up to a dozen other killings around the country.

He chuckled at the memory of his crimes and teased the cops about what he knew, but refused to give up the details unless they agreed to execute him within a year so his young daughter would not have to grow up with her father in prison. Without that promise he kept silent -- except for an occasional cigar.
