we're all waiting to hear good news about a miracle little Joshua has been found & now we're hearing about LDTs & tearing out floors. :(

Maybe they're just removing the skirting, not floors since it says the 'base'...still don't understand why that wasn't done day 1.

ETA: and hopefully they'll look under all the neighbors' mobile homes too.

As much as I pray he isn't found stuffed somewhere in that house, I was afraid from the very beginning with the "missing for 20 minutes before LE was contacted" and the discrepancies in the time he went missing...all the way from 7ish to 8:40 I think, that this was probably going to be more than a baby just wondering away from home.

Mobile homes shouldn't be hard to search under. And wasn't this done already?

Police officials also reiterated that they have checked extensively into other options, like abduction, even going so far as to check-in with sex offenders in the immediate area, all with no indication that the boy was abducted, which is why an Amber Alert has not been issued.

Police officials continue believe this is simply a tragic case of a very mobile toddler wandering out into the night and getting lost.

They also utilized some new tools, like ATV's for ground searches, and an aerial drone to search from the sky.

They also began looking at one large piece of property that they had not yet searched because the property owner wanted to be present.

Other searchers concentrated on other areas that may not have been searched as thoroughly, including dive teams being called in to search several ponds and stock tanks in that area.

Going so far?! Like they went the extra mile by doing that?! That is their JOB.

When someone goes missing you look at family, you look at friends, you look at known offenders.

Did they "go so far" as to question the last person to see Joshua? Did they "go so far" as to polygraph that person?

Did they "go so far" as to polygraph anyone else?

When my daughter went missing at 3 years old I KNEW she had wandered off. But that didn't mean someone hadn't picked her up after. Somer Thompson, Adam Walsh...what were the odds that after pouting or getting in trouble a perp would just happen upon them?

I wonder if they do NOT find him out there, what they are going to do then?

Keep in mind that those are probably the reporter's words.
Sounds to me like they are doing everything they can to find him, but if he wandered off and wasn't abducted, he is more than likely gone. ONE night of sub-freezing cold... a baby would not survive.

The article itself indicates that it is "portions of the base" as in-- most likely-- the skirting around the outside of the trailer. I would guess that the person who posted the breaking news flag over the article does not really know what they are talking about. The floor of a mobile home would simply yield access to the same area with a whole lot more trouble than just taking off the skirting and crawling under to look.

A mobile home has a sub-floor.

I believe they have been doing what they should do all along; maybe the polygraphs could/should have been done sooner, but the baby still needed to be found and as we see in other cases, the testers often have to come in from other areas.

In looking for info on mobile homes, found the above. Did not know the skirting is sometimes permanently installed and under a mh can be plumbing and electrical.

Also, remember reading early on somewhere that Josh,jr. has asthma. Does anyone else remember? MHs and asthma aren't a good mix.

I might have read he had asthma, but I know for sure I saw his grandma in a news video & she said he has asthma & takes meds.

would these be tracking dogs? ((blood hounds from TDCJ))

Yes, they would, nursebeme, but those would be the cadaver dogs. The trailing/tracking dogs follow the child's scent on the ground. They're the kind you give something of the missing person's to sniff, and then they take off sniffing the scent on the ground or according to sarx, they can even follow the scent if the child was whisked away in a car, some, not all. That must be a really good dog that can do that.

An air-scent dog, picks up the scent in the air, possibly from sluffed off skin cells floating around in the air.

The dogs are specialists in their fields, don't cha know. LOL

Just how many Adults live in the home? Do we know how long any of them have lived there? Going below the house worries me........ I don't want bad news :(

"We're going to be retracing some of our steps," Lt. Mike Penshorn said Monday morning. "Also, we are still interviewing a number of the people associated with the child and, of course, we're expanding that where we have quite a few people that we are bringing just to talk to find out what did happen in this case."According to Jerome Davis, Joshua's grandfather, that also includes administering polygraph tests to everyone who lives in the household.Davis made the comments as he arrived at the police station Monday morning to submit to the exam, which police often use to detect inconsistencies in statements made by witnesses or suspects in crimes.Davis said in addition to him and Joshua's parents, two other adults have been asked to submit to polygraphs. Penshorn refused to comment on this, saying he did not want to reveal too many details about the investigation.

Police also have had to quash rumors and red herrings.
The latest was a frantic broadcast report that searchers ripped up the mobile home floor in a search for remains. In fact, according to police, searchers merely opened the trailer's apron and crawled under the home.

How horrific for this family - I hope someone is keeping an eye on mom's blood pressure, at almost term in her pregnancy - she needs to be watched.

Please let this precious baby be found quickly, alive and well.

Yes, the bloodhounds were likely DOJ dogs, they would be trailing/tracking dogs and going off of other TX cases, they are prison dogs and are not trained in SAR work, but in catching escaped convicts and have likely never trained on a baby (which actually can make a difference). I just wish these depts. would understand that dogs are not created equal, nor are they trained equally. You gonna take that cute little golden retriever trained for FEMA out to apprehend a suspect? Not likely, get my drift?

So did Darlin Gal.

On researching about MHs, there appears to be an issue with mold underneath. Would mold effect SAR dogs?

Like would it throw off the scent? No, not enough to disguise if he was under there.
