The Charlotte Division of the FBI and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are seeking new tips to find a teenage girl who has been missing for more than two years. Rachel Natacha Owens was last seen getting into a car outside of her school on May 5, 2011. Rachel rode the school bus to South Brunswick High School in Boiling Spring Lakes. She then got off the bus and was seen on surveillance video getting into a small, dark-colored car with a possible South Carolina license plate.
Rachel has run away in the past but has never been gone this length of time. She has expressed a desire to go to Mexico and may be going by the name “Raquel.” Rachel has not had contact with any family members or friends since the day she left her high school.
Anyone with information on Rachel’s whereabouts should contact Detective Holly Locklear with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at 910-880-4950 or FBI Charlotte at 704-672-6100.
