Gloria Allred & Nipple Ring Demo!

Gloria Allred is going to put a nipple ring on a mannequin, all in the name of Lady Justice

Gloria's gonna demo what happened to a woman who had to remove her nipple rings with a pair of pliers in order to pass through airport security. Of course, G-L-O-R-I-A reps her.

Allred (who now represents Heather Mills -- who's famous for displaying another body part) will hold a news conference at 12:30 PM Pacific time today, where she'll "display two nipple rings on a mannequin, and explain what she and the woman will do in order to ensure that no other person is forced to suffer what the woman did in order to board a plane."

Of course, we'll be live streaming the news conference. Wouldn't miss it for the world

Not knowing anything other than what has just been posted, I think I may have hired an attorney also- we fly all the time, I have been pulled aside numerous times, purse hand searched, kids backpacks searched- they can do anything they want to us- but having to take out the nipple rings is ridiculous imo-

I appreciated what she did for Amber in the SP case. I appreciated her doing something (although what I'm not sure) about Jackson holding his baby over the railing. She's still highly annoying though!

hum, I have a belly ring and the "buzzer" never goes off when I walk through it..

Those must have been some big rings. Aren't they removable? If they are, she should have thought of that before going to the airport. I mean it's no secret that you have to go through a metal detector.

I am not sure about this story, something must have changed.

I worked for the TSA as an airport security screener from 2002 to 2003 and if a wand went off while screening a "sensitive" area (you might be surprised what people pierce) the passenger was offered a private screening and would be escorted to a private room where a screener and a same sex supervisor serving as a witness would then have the passenger disrobe. If the wanding could then continue with no alerts the passenger could continue on their way.

Some wands or walk-thrus could have been set to extra sensitive depending on current conditions but usually piercings (earrings for example) would not set off a detector. I know that some nipple rings can be pretty hefty though. The bigger belly button rings would sometimes set off the wands but a quick pat with the back of the hand would confirm that it was not a weapon. Maybe this person did not want a pat down? We often had to pat down to confirm it was an underwire setting off the wand.

Perhaps this passenger did not want to have a private screening and chose instead to go to the airport restroom to remove the rings. After researching the removal of nipple rings I found that some are more permanent than others.

If it was me...I would "get over myself" and allow a pat down or a visible private screening. Like I would ever see these screeners again....

And if I did, like I was a regular traveler, I would switch to the easy to remove type.

Anyway...this is worth a news segment?? Must be a slow news day.....

A lot of people have pierced body parts. The story seems to be over exaggerated.
But in this day and time, who knows.

The TSA said Friday in a statement on its Web site that the officers properly followed procedures, but that the procedures must change. In the future passengers can either allow a visual inspection of their piercings, or remove them, the agency said.

The statement stopped short of apologizing to Hamlin.

"TSA acknowledges that our procedures caused difficulty for the passenger involved and regrets the situation in which she found herself," the agency said in a statement. "We appreciate her raising awareness on this issue and we are changing the procedures to ensure that this does not happen again."

Hamlin's attorney said she accepted the TSA statement as an apology, and commended the agency for taking quick action. The policy change is "an achievement for the protection of passengers' civil rights while meeting the security goals of the TSA," Gloria Allred said.

Can you imagine being hired into TSA as the chief nipple ring inspector. I haven't ever known any ladies with nipple rings, and that's a good thing.

all i can say is the title of this thread is misleading! i thought gloria was going to demo nipple rings when i read it. dont ask why i am on this thread given that fact.
