When we say victim friendly we mean all those that are immediately victimized by what appears to be a terrible crime. This includes the family that is missing a 7 year old child for the love of God.
You are free to discuss your opinions on statements made, possible doubts you may have or questions raised by the information or lack thereof. But if you start throwing around careless accusations against the family or sleuthing out their personal information or discussing the color of lipstick someone was wearing, you will be given a no expense paid vacation.
If the situation changes and if the investigation by LE points back to the family then these rules will change. We roll with the news and as more information is revealed and as LE gives us information, we adjust. As I have said, imagine this is your child and people are looking at YOU. Moreover, stereotyping some of these players is positively embarrassing to the forum. KNOCK IT OFF!

We are not asking you to ignore behavior, statements to the press or anything else the family says or does. Feel free to discuss what you see and think. Link facts and stop rumors, that's what we like to do.

If you feel censored here then please post at a forum where they do not moderate and you can say anything you like. We do moderate and some people like it and some people don't. We know we cannot please everyone and so we do not try. We stay true to what we think is right and for now not accusing the family is in line with LE and that is the tact we will take. You can be suspicious of whomever you choose, just be cautious in your posting. As always it is not ok to sleuth family members on this board until they have been named as a POI or a suspect or LE leads us to believe they are being considered actively.

As always, if this changes we will roll with it and we will adjust. But to lay out a families personal affairs when they are not even on the radar at this time is just wrong. There will be plenty of time to investigate if things change and often they do.

Many of you continue to make comments ( direct and indirect) about your disapproval of our guidelines. It disrupts the flow of the thread and we are all growing weary of it.

I am asking, again, to please stop.

Thanks.

June 5 News Conference: 'Exhaustive' Search Under Way
http://www.kptv.com/video/23805637/index.html
The family of Kyron has been nothing less than completely cooperative with our investigative process. At this point we are getting a ton of information from them that helps us very much in continuing this search for Kyron. LE

June 6 News Conference - Deputies 'No Closer' To Finding Boy
http://www.kptv.com/video/23812286/index.html
- The last time he was seen was here at the school, and that was on Friday about late, a late hour in the morning was the last time he was actually seen here at the school. Since that time we've developed no other additional information that's indicated that he was here beyond that point after our interviews with the children.

- He was seen not, he was seen near his classroom, and the last point was down at the south entrance door of the school.

- Actually that statement came from one of the children that was here earlier this morning that was interviewed.

- In this situation, I think everyone is of interest to us.

June 10 - Four o'clock - Transcription - why LE is not releasing more information:
Our investigation at this point remains ongoing. I realize that at earlier briefings Captain Gates has not able to answer all of your questions regarding the investigative portion of this operation. I do want to reiterate that we don't release many details of an ongoing investigation for a number of reasons. Early release of information can affect the operation and integrity of the investigation. New and incoming information is often unconfirmed and needs substantiation prior to release. Misleading information can harm both search efforts and the investigation. If there is information that will cause community participation that will aid in search and rescue efforts, we will bring that information forward.

It came to me last night that I haven't seen any pix of Kyron as a baby.

IIRC, the youngest age is about 3 yrs old..I never got on any FB pages of relatives but for those who had (& viewed family photo albums) did you see any? If so, & you saved them, can you please post a few? TIA!

Are we going to see the media briefing today ?

Someone on here posted that Oregon has an odd history of having alot of criminals/missing persons. That I have no opinion on because I just don't live there or haven't heard cases from there over the years...

THis is TOTALLY my opinion and not based on stats, but does anyone else feel like FLORIDA has a terrible rep for having lots of child abductions/murders and a high count of sex offenders??

I'm not bashing Florida or anything, I'm just making a statement based on media cases, etc...

Feels like it to me.... I live in Florida. Don't know what the actual statistics are though.

??? I wonder what they meant by "odd"? I would have to disagree with that opinion unless I knew their definition of "odd".

We have had some pretty high profile cases here, tho. Brooke Wilberger :furious:, the guy who drowned his family on the coast :furious:, and Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis who were abducted and murdered in Oregon City. :furious:

Local update on Kyron right now. They are talking about the reward, the case being reclassified, and that we don't know why they reclassified the case. Search crews from my area have headed home, they said.

:( :( :(

Some loose thoughts this AM, and from braining while trying to get to sleep this AM. What do you think, what should be shot down in the following.

* I'd sure like for LE to address the "creepy" person that children were rumored to have seen on the campus that day. If children did report that, I would like to know if that person has been identified and cleared. Could telling the public this (i.e. that they have been identified/cleared) cause a problem to the investigation? Could putting a composite sketch of that person in the news damage the investigation or help?

* Just a wild thought...I am not indicating anyone, it just hit my brain. On one hand, I wonder if protecting the identity of the person who supposedly saw Kyron at 9AM is for that person's protection OR if it is possible that the person is not being identified because there was not a person who saw him at 9AM and they are indicating one did for some other purpose?

* Father and Step Father's work positions... Is it too far fetched to wonder if the employment of either of these men (enterprise business architect, detective) somehow put Kyron at risk and targetted as some way to punish one of these two men (or back them up in the work they were doing, i.e. we have the boy, your wife is next, kinda thing)?

* Bathrooms available to Kyron at this school... Were there stalls in these, or were these singular rooms -- either way, would it be possible to lock the doors of these bathrooms from the inside. What type of ceilings do these bathrooms have (lifting tiles), what type of trash containers do these have (size)? Sure wish someone from the school could get us an idea of this.

BTW, I cannot remember who suggested recreating the scene (was that you BeyondBelief?), but I have to agree with you that doing that could possibly bring in some good information. Were it me and I were positioned in a scene recreation, a number of remembrances might occur ... with as many people as were there that day, a flock of remembrances could assist an investigation...

Having said the above, just how many people WERE at the school between 8:30 and 10:00 (and at any given time). I wonder if LE has been able to build a picture of that...

On the other hand, a reason for not recreating the scene might be due to LE knowing enough to say, "Not necessary...we're fairly clear on what happened and working on it."

Yes, I agree w/ you about FL. So many missing kids, so many RSO's, and so many violent kids!! I don't think I would even feel comfortable vacationing there at this point.

When I lived in Florida I could have sworn that Florida had the weirdest crimes. I still believe they have a high number of child crimes, but since I moved to California I am almost scared to look at the news. Cali has very gruesome crimes that are so "normal" they rarely make the nightly news, you read about them online. Every other day some sicko has dismembered someone and thrown them in the road/park/field.

Rather than risk taking this thread off track, here's a new thread to discuss crime areas in general: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5289740#post5289740"]Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

sbm

If the above is possible (I can't rule it out) the same goes for SM & Bio-Mom. It could be that someone from the gym had a thing for SM & she rebuffed him..What better way to punish her then taking her son? This male would have to be off his rocker (helped by steriods? or not) to stoop to something so evil but some sick ppl will do anything when they feel they've been wronged.

I don't know enough about Bio-Mom to give a specific scenario but I suppose it's also possible she may have been the target for whatever (?) reason.

Those are only from the past 5 +/- years...
