"The investigation into Thursday's ride accident at the N.C. State Fair has led to the arrest of a 46-year-old man who operated the ride.

Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison announced Saturday night that Timothy Dwayne Tutterrow of Georgia has been charged with three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.

'After inspection of the ride, we determined that it had been tampered with and critical safety devices were compromised,' said Harrison."

I wonder how they're sure it was this specific ride operator who disabled the safety function, as opposed to someone else?

See my post before this one. They have a witness that saw the owner modify the wiring while the operator guarded him.

I wish the witness had found a ride inspector or an official and reported it earlier.

The operator of a ride that malfunctioned and injured a family last October at the North Carolina State Fair admits in his response to a lawsuit that he "negligently altered" the controls to the ride before the accident...

Tutterrow and Macaroni have each been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.

http://www.wncn.com/story/27597266/...ir-ride-reached-partial-settlement-in-lawsuit

The family injured last year at the North Carolina State Fair when a ride malfunctioned has reached a partial settlement after filing a $150 million lawsuit in April against the owners of the ride...

After participating in a mediation on Nov. 26, the family reached a partial settlement with Family Court documents say the parties involved in the settlement agreement "are working to finalize all settlement papers so that the plaintiffs can move forward with filing the appropriate dismissals."

The family did not reach a settlement agreement with Amusements of Rochester, so that lawsuit still stands.
