GUILTY MO - Jacque Rawson Waller, 39, Jackson, 31 May 2011

Still no sign of Jacque Waller a month after disappearance

Even after moving out of her parents' home as a teenager, Cheryl Brenneke didn't go too long without speaking to or seeing her younger sister. And up until Jacque Waller's disappearance one month ago, Brenneke saw her sibling, along with her two nieces and nephew, nearly every weekend.

Waller's mother, Ruby Rawson, at the very least talked to her daughter on the phone every other day.

It's never been 30 days.

"We're a very close family. We stay in touch all the time," Rawson said. "This is very trying."

Jackson Police Department Chief James Humphreys said Thursday the department has contacted Clay Waller and asked him to come to the station to discuss the case.

"That's about where we get with him," Humphreys said. "We never do see him again or hear back from him."

Waller's estranged husband, Clay, was the last person to see her. Police are careful to stress that he is a person of interest, not a suspect.

"Right now we still have a missing person, we don't have a crime," Humphreys said. "That's why we need his help."

Clay Waller's attorney, Scott Reynolds, says there is a lot of misinformation about his client in the media. He has told Waller not to speak publicly about his wife's disappearance. But police aren't sure why he's not being more helpful.

"If the mother of my children is missing, you're not going to get me off the front door steps [of the police department]," Chief Reynolds said. "I can't speak about him, but it makes me wonder why he's not here. Why he's not helping."

I only live a few miles from where Jacque's vehicle was found on I-55. I am also confounded by the lack of media on this case...especially given all that has been reported on the Spierer girl from Indiana. If the media had been more involved earlier, maybe someone traveling the interstate at the time of the disappearance might have remembered seeing something related to the vehicle or someone on a bicycle. Hopefully more national attention will help find anyone who may have seen something!

Both of the these lovely ladies and their families are in my prayers!

Welcome, tbeldon.

There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to why some cases get alot of attention and some don't.

I feel that Jacque's family has been very active in keeping Jacque in the spotlight, so I don't know why this case isn't more well known.

I am drawn to this case because I have identical twin boys that are the same age as Jacques triplets.

I think, at this point, LE is waiting to get forensic tests back so they can arrest Clay Waller.

I pray for those babies every night and for Jacque's family.

Here are few questions I have: 1) Where was the boat found? 2) Where did they find Clay's truck? 3) What is the basis for believing someone left her vehicle on a bicycle? 4) Last week it was reported that the evidence test results (or some of the them, anyway) would be back "Tuesday." What results were received? 5) If Jacque was planning to pick up her son from Clay and he was at a babysitter's, who picked him up from the sitter and what time was he picked up?

Does anyone have answers to any of these? I haven't seen any of this information in the articles I've read.

"I don't care anything about the arrest and conviction part, that will take care of itself," said Stan Rawson. "I want my little girl."

"I want the agony to stop," said Ruby Rawson. "I know there will be more, we can handle that if we just get her back and we know where she is."

Investigators say they continue to follow new leads daily, but still no sign of Jacque.

This weekend, search efforts will continue. Friends and even complete strangers will be out looking for the missing mom. They hope to cover a lot of ground.

Some personal items of Jacque's were apparently found today!

Another search is being planned for this weekend, also.

On the ground in front of a row of mailboxes was Jacque Waller's business cards.
"They were in a standard business card packet or holder that would be carried in someone's brief case or purse," said Lt. David James-Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office.

Wilma Kallbrier says she's been to those mailboxes countless times since June 1st, the last time anyone saw Jacque Waller.

"It had to have been (placed there) recent," said Kallbrier.

The person who found the cards says they were not there previously? Wow, so does that mean CW is scattering evidence in random places? What's that song I hear playing ...

The parents of Jacque were on GMA and said they are very happy with the investigation. The husband hasn't been allowed so see his children. It's nice to see the police take this case seriously, so many times these Moms who disappear are just marked off as left on their own when we know they wouldn't leave their children and odds are the husband is responsible for their disappearance.

I read in an article somewhere that Ms. Wallers husband was a police officer at one time. Does anyone know what type of 'officer' he was, with what type of agency (e.g., police department, corrections, etc.), and how long was he in this type of employment?

Thank you in advance, and I am sorry if this has been answered earlier and I did not see it.

I finally got one answer! The Pilot was actually at the 104.8 mile marker, not the 105 as had been previously reported. That makes a difference since the 104.8 is south of the Fruitland exit, which is also the exit that goes to the place where the business cards were found yesterday. This means the Pilot was northbound and had entered the Interstate south of Fruitland.

K9-Chaser - Waller was a deputy with the Cape County Sheriff's Department and I believe he also worked for one or two police departments south of Cape Girardeau.

"Waller's blue Honda Pilot was left abandoned on June 1 at the 104.8 milemarker off interstate 55 northbound near the Fruitland exit.

Investigators hope someone traveling through the area noticed something.
"We hope someone saw something out there, possibly someone on vacation who drove 55," said Police Chief James Humphreys."

And this on Waller's attorney: http://www.semissourian.com/story/1611987.html
Then he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and is still practicing! http://www.kfvs.com/story/13318391/...ilty-to-domestic-assault?clienttype=printable

Do we have cohesive any maps (including lakes and rivers)/timelines (was there only a 2 hr. time limit?)/cell ping info./internet info. on soon to be x? The info. seems to be disjointed. TIA

I wonder if Clay remembered to move the seat up after he drove her car to the interstate and abandoned it? Bet someone out there saw him walking back home...

Yes Susan, so very true. From the initial start of Jacque's disappearance, LE took it seriously. I wondered if this was due to CW's reputation and his brief career in LE? I get the impression he is not highly thought of in his own community for a variety of reasons, not just his involvement in Jacque's disappearance. I was pleased to see that the judge extended Cheryl's custody of the triplet's and did not allow CW visitation.

Unlike the Shelly Mook case. Her daughter is in the custody of her ex-husband whom LE has said is a POI in her disappearance.

Thank you tbeldon, you sound like a local. Finally someone who can give us a boot-on-the-ground perspective!!

Clay's truck and boat were at his home-

From what I have read, Jacque's father was the one who talked about the bike. It's not clear if that is his personal speculation or something LE shared with him-

Clay picked up the little guy later that evening-

There is really very little information on Jacque's case in the media. LE has been pretty tight lipped. The best source of info (sadly) has been a topix thread that started right after Jacque disappeared. You will have to weed through the posts, but there is valuable insight to be gained.
