I'm not even going to even attempt to catch up since our chantisement.

Watcing Nancy Grace tonight, what I got from that was if Joran's lips are moving then he's lying.

This video is in Spanish but shows a girl on the floor of Room 309 and she's wearing long black pants and a black shirt. Is this a re-enactment or is this a crime scene and the red panty report is faulty? I'm a bit confused here. Maybe a Spanish-speaker can tell us if this is Stephany or not. It occurs at the 25 second mark.

It must be a re-enactment. She was found with her knees drawn up wearing only her shirt and panties...at least that's what US MSM is reporting.

All in all... The most important thing is he off the streets...I worry though that there may be others that fell into his web....:(

At this point, Joran will be charge in some form for the death of Stephany. We know the USA is next in line for Joran once Joran finishes his sentence, IF he finishes his sentence in the Peruvian prisons. SHOULD Joran be linked with the two girls missing in Columbia, then Columbia will get a piece of Joran at some point.

Then we have Aruba, with it's sandy beaches, casinos, nice hotels to visit. :)

Here are two articles about the missing Colombia girls. One needs to be translated. The articles are all stating that Joran arrived in Colombia on May 6th and that he left for Peru on May 14 making his stay in Colombia 7 days, not 2 as has been reported. They do have video surveillance of him at the casinos. There is also a picture of two young girls kissing him on either cheek (I seriously doubt that these are the two missing and/or dead girls.

At this link the writer indicates that the two women were murdered. I thought they were just missing. Maybe once the elcomercio article gets translated it will be clearer. I dunno.

Honestly, If Paulus would have stepped back and let the authorities investigate his son, it would of ended there...and the FBI would not be placed in the position of having to deal with a murderer/extortionist...

And Stephany would be alive.

Definitely a re-enactment. A bit later they show the re-enactment as shadows on the wall, and then the woman on the floor again. This was just to give an idea of what happened.

My Spanish is faulty, and I've got a headache that won't quit, so I only watched once. The guy's voice is not compatible with my headache, so no more watching tonight. Essentially, it gave the basics of the crime and how he landed in police custody. Interesting how the officer had trouble opening that laptop, and what about that vest - bulletproof, perhaps? :waitasec:

This needs to go into the translation thread JBEAN set up please. This looks like the example on a re-enactment.

Truck driver Luis Aparcana said van der Sloot gave him 1,500 Peruvian soles ($525) to take him from Ica, a town south of Lima, to the Chilean border. The Dutchman didn't speak Spanish very well and carried two suitcases, he said in a TV interview.

Aparcana said van der Sloot appeared "worried, because he kept smoking cigarettes. He didn't have a cell phone but he had a laptop that he would take out, handle and then put back."

This is something I find intriguing. Why didn't he have a cell phone? If even a pre-paid one? I can't imagine him being without one. Did he have one and ditch it?

It was clarifield on JVM tonight via Jean getting info from Columbia that there are no 2 girls missing.

Here is the transcript:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1006/08/ijvm.01.html

VELEZ-MITCHELL: The once prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway`s disappearance confessing to another woman`s murder. Joran Van Der Sloot expected to re-enact his deadly assault on 21-year-old Stephany Flores inside his hotel room.

Straight out to Jean Casarez, correspondent for "In Session" who is live outside the hotel where Stephany died. And we`re covering breaking news that came in while we were on this show about two missing women allegedly in Colombia and a possible connection to Joran. But we have no independent confirmation.

Jean Casarez, what have you found out?

JEAN CASAREZ, CORRESPONDENT, "IN SESSION": Well, what we`ve done, we have been able to contact correspondents for CNN in Colombia. And here is the e-mail we received back from them. They checked with authorities and say there is nothing to it. According Colombian police and Colombian attorney general`s office, there is no disappearance currently being investigated in Bogota or no investigation in Colombia in general in connection with Joran Van Der Sloot.

That`s what they are officially saying in Colombia. Of course when you say investigation, possibly just questioning is not tantamount to a full investigation at this point. But this is what information we`re getting from the law enforcement in Colombia tonight.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. So they would know if there were two women missing in Colombia and apparently we`re not hearing that.

So Mike Brooks, it`s a good thing that we have Jean Casarez there in Peru to check this stuff out.

BROOKS: She is the best, that`s for sure. We`re glad to have her on "In Session" that`s for sure. But then again, it`s not over with him. We`re going to have to go back, take a look at his passports, as said earlier, follow that paper trail and see exactly where he has been and when he was there.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tim Miller, you`re the one who gave us this report that you had heard from Jossy Mansur who is the editor of "Diario" newspaper in Aruba that the authorities in Colombia had launched an investigation because two women were missing in a casino in Colombia.

Now we`re hearing from Jean Casarez that Colombian authorities are saying it isn`t happening. Now, we know in cases like this, I call it urban myth. Things, they sort of take on a life of their own. Is it possible that Jossy is simply wrong or his sources are bad? Because we`re getting conflicting information here.

MILLER: It`s possible that it is. I know that he was going to run that story tomorrow morning in his newspaper. And again while I was there he did get a phone call which stated that authorities were going to -- and in fact had getting to Peru to go ahead and talk to Joran Van Der Sloot. That was, I must say, three or four hours ago.

Also your caller said that it was also aired on a Spanish TV station.

He probably had his cell phone in his dufflebag turned off so he couldn't be tracked by GPS. He was fleeing after all.

he looks totally wasted in that pic. Wish it was dated.

It would be nice to get more facts on the missing/murdered girls in Columbia. Could JVDS been travelling with someone else? Or JVDS go on a killing spree in SA?

I don't believe it, though, Patty G. I think the Colombia police want to investigate/question Joran before they release anything. I think they were stalling JVM and American news media.

*snipped*

Just a side note: a person can lighten their hair using regular hydrogen peroxide, if they were really desperate but didn't want to be obvious by buying hair dye or hair bleach.

Oh, I so want to see that convenience store video to see what he purchased and his demeanor!!!!!:waitasec:

I bet it was more than coffee and bread.

Do you think they will ever release the video?

Yeah I thought Pat Brown was good. She said when Joran said Stephany "had no right" he was referring to her not wanting to have sex and it did not have anything to do with his story about the laptop.

I thought that was very interesting too and she's probably right. She's been trained and seen enough of this sort of thing.

I think some have asked why no one heard this horrific beating. First, IIRC I think there were some reports of one of the housekeepers who stated she heard them arguing. Second, take a look at the site below under "other info". This hotel is "alternative lifestyle friendly". Not sure exactly what that means to them, but I fear it may mean they look the other way at whatever goes on in their rooms, including assaulting a woman. http://lima.hotelguide.net/data/h100149.htm

Hello,

Events and the thread have been moving too fast for me to catch up, so can anyone tell me if anything has been said about Aruban authorities obtaining access to what allegedly was on the laptop in regards to Natalie?

Assuming, of course, there is at least a grain of truth to Joran's account. Which I realize is a big assumption.

TIA,
IB

Unfortunately, yes it is common among the younger generation...modesty is a thing of the past! Just turn on the 'Family Channel' any night of the week and you will be shocked by what you are viewing on a channel geared towards families. Very sad times we are living in when we are lose sight of honesty, morals, integrity, love and intimacy and replace them with greed, selfishness and lust!

MOO

The thing that prevents me from thinking this was the case with Stephany is that she was wearing a sanitary pad. I may just be be projecting, but she seemed to be on the modest side. That's what I get from her demeanor in the video, too. Embarassed and ashamed to be seen in a seedy hotel with this guy at 5 am in the morning.

I think I remember from the Imette St. Guillen case that cell phone movements can be tracked even if they are turned off. May or may not be relevant here.
