The $ Figures?

Some here said - R & L were undoubtedly in financial straights; while others said - they were doing fine financially.
It's all relative, making me wonder about their actual dollar figures.

Any help w reasonable estimates, esp. locals re rent, etc. Or a range might be helpful, e.g. $800-900 or $50-75/mo.
I'll check back later, then plug in your suggested figures, and total.
Not saying how accurate it will be,
but some feel Ross and/or Leanna's motive may have been financial stress, at least in part.

Good thread..Ginger Snap will have lots of info for you I think.

If this is the unit it is renting for $850. It may or may not have been the same price when RH rented it 2 years ago. I am SHOCKED that it isn't closer to $1200/mo.
* notice it has new A/C...

"Saini said the Harrises were perfect tenants. When the air-conditioner recently broke down, Harris didn't get angry about it. Most often, they paid their rent one day early. He said Cooper's room was filled with toys."

***I could argue these are on the VERY low side. In 1990 Jan my electric bill was o er $500 for my 600 sq ft apartment about 5 miles from here. I doubt a condo built in 1981 is very insulated. I doubt that the windows are double pained either...
The figures quoted might be correct for 1 person living alone in a 1500 sq ft home.

Lots of laundry water usage with a baby. There is a $25 processing fee every month on the water bill so zero usage is $25 min. My dads runs about $45 month. He lives alone and does a small load of laundry once a week. He runs the dish washer once a week also.
http://www.trulia.com/voices/Rental_Basics/What_is_the_average_cost_of_utilities_electric_c-560594

Electric: $80 - 140/mo higher rate during summer air conditioning peak
Garbage: $35-75/mo with weekly pickup depending on vendor--includes recycling
Gas: $30 to 100/mo higher rate during the winter heating season
Cable/internet: $120-170/mo depending on entertainment packages selected
Water/sewer: $25-70 depending on usage--higher rates if you water lawn in summer.

Anybody think Ross might have income from employment other than HD?
Anything after the move to Atlanta?

IIRC, he refereed high school(?) football games.
If so, is that all-volunteer or a payment per game?

What about music? Did he & band perform only as volunteers?
Any week-end paid gigs at bars, restaurants, parties?

Anything Leanna may have done, beside dietician work for the one company? Any consulting or private client/patients?

Just another thought.

$96.00 per on field official per varsity game
In 2014

***I am not certain he ever worked a game in Georgia. I did a lot of sleuthing and I have yet to find one picture of him on a high school football field. They have LOTS of exams and training they must take tests attend workshops etc... I don't see RH doing this too lazy IMO. I think it might be all talk. Now he could pay a fee and be a "member" but I don't believe he is even fit enough to be on the field for 2-3 hours chasing the players up and down the field.

OK. So IMO about June 1 they had been here 2 years. RH moved a 7mo pregnant LH here.

Most cable package deals are 3, 6, or 12 months at the introductory price then they stick into ya! I think be it Uverse, XFinity, or Dish if RH had a landline ? Internet and cable ****you KNOW HE HAD THE PREMIUM FOOTBALL BEAST GAME ESPN 24/7 SPORTS PACKAGE***** yelling just a little. GAME DAY! GAME DAY! GAME DAY!!!!
He was paying out the wahoo every month. Ya think 225? 260? for all 3 ? They might not have had a landline however I think the landlord might have had one and kept it for the unit idk.

Daycare was $840/mo

Monthly Tuition Rates as of April 2014:

Infant: $895

Toddler: $840

Early Preschool: $813

Preschool: $767

Child Care @ Little Aprons ................... ~ 840/mo
Other Child Exp ................................. ~ _____. anyone?

per gngr~snp

https://secure.livethehealthyorangelife.com/

Dental, vision, the $2500 life ins policy info, the HOMER FUND that pays for funerals etc. info is here. I can't get any info from a pdf. to link or cut and paste.

Diapering a toddler 5 changes a day? x 365= 1825?
I have no clue what diapers cost now.
plus the new car seat (only one)
Clothing, feeding, a toddler bed... birthday party.. I am sure there are estimates for the 3rd year 24-36 months of life.

IMOO there can only be estimates on many of their finances.
my adult kids haveno clue what expenses my dh and I have. :)

I want to follow the money trail but have a question. Why are we discounting by 30% the HOA fees?

Also, the $235 HOA fees already include water and sewer so that needs to be removed from the monthly expenses.

Absolutely true.
$$$ figures can be gleaned from P/C hearing; Ross & Leanna's soc media; friends & acq's from T'loosa;
www $ re rentals, utilities; student loan calculators; etc.
Estimates only.

It's in the rental agreement.

***yes this is just an estimate. This is NOT the unit the lived in
but a similar one. Forvall we know their rent could have been lower and they may or may not have been responsible for all, part or none of the monthly HOA/CoOp fee.
I just found these trerms online.
I believe their actual unit is being advertised as I mentioned upthread. I didn't find any rental info other than it was renting for $840.00.
I would expect them to be responsible for a % of it since it does include sewer/water and garbage. moo

I'm curious how these income and expense figures will play out. Will they show that the Harris's income vs expenses are similar or average for a young couple living in their community? Or will it show that there's a big deficit in their income vs their spending?

An average income vs expense will not point towards a clear motive for killing Cooper. A big financial meltdown could be a clear motive for premeditated murder.

If only estimates are being used for some of the high dollar expenses, I can see arguments for motive and also for no motive being shown. It can go either way in my opinion.

I'm not sure if I see a financial problem with what's been posted so far. It's still early though. MOO.
