A writ of habeas corpus protects a person from being able to inflict harm on one's self and also protects a person from being hurt by the judicial system.

Didn't AVS lean towards the fact that Joran "may have killed Stephany" and that he should be punished for what he did to Stephany? . At least this is a step in the right direction. AVS indicated "she can't embrace her son" etc., etc. and he should pay for the crime which indicates, "this is my child, I love him" etc. etc. and he should pay for the crime.

AVS did admit they made a mistake sending Joran off to school.

I can't judge AVS for believing her son's story about Natalie. All I can do is hope that at some point what happened to Natalie comes together and perhaps at that point AVS will make a statement. Until then, she is guilty of believing her son; and Joran is clearly the cause of Natalie's disappearance and for killing Stephany. JMO
 
His Spanish is very good, he conversed with the official prior to signing the paper and he studied it carefully, reading every word.

HE'S A SLICK ONE......he's been a 'teflon' murderer throughout the Holloway case and now his goose is cooked and he knows it.

With all the evidence against Joran, videos, everything, how can his mother
NOT admit that Joran killed Stephany. She stated that he lies and now she's coming out with the 'mental' defense.
She knows he's in deep dooo dooo now and everything points to HIM AND HIM ALONE. There are NO Kalpoes in this one to blame. Only JVDS himself.

I think that mental institution is for AN INSANITY PLEA.
It won't work. Not with the Peruvians.

Yes, and it was video taped as he reviewed the documents. I'm sure the Judge will use the video in determining his decision today as well as all the hotel/casino videos. Videos don't lie.
 
I believe Anita will see the truth in regards to Natalee now, it may take awhile to 'process' of course.

And agree that Joran is definitely upping the chances of him being killed sooner rather than later with these statements. I can't see the Flores family 'ordering a hit' or any such thing however, they are too evolved, but someone else just might..

Much more gracefully put than my statement. I also do not believe that the victim's family would "order" such a thing, but I DO think there are many people who will be very angry at JVS's denials!!!

I don't have her exact words in front of me, but she leaned towards that he may be responsible for the death of Stephany. That's a plus in my book.

I have no clue if AVS has viewed the video of Joran and Stephany at the hotel. Hopefully one of the newspapers will ask her that question and report her response.

We may never know one way or another whether there was a scheduled admission to go into a mental facility, and IMO, I don't feel AVS is trying to put out that Joran is mental unstable as Joran can do this one all by himself.
 
We really can't go on what someone says on their blog, from someone who has access to JVS's Facebook as it basically spreading a rumor.

Michael Griffith says that JVS has entered "the Gates of Hell" by being in this prison and by having the possibility of being transfered to that other prison (can't do the name).

He also said that people stand in line to make money so that JVS could be harmed or killed easily.

As they seemed to have video-taped all other aspects of their interaction with VDS, hopefully they also have a video of his confession to disprove their promise of 'the Netherlands'.

When he is first transferred to Peru LE, there is a video of him carefully reading documents and questionning them prior to signing them. If he understood what he was signing then, I'm sure he understood when he signed his confession.

But, this is all moot, since they have enough evidence on him without his confession!!

I'm sure that Aruba newspapers have shown all the videos regarding JVDS's connection to Stephany's murder since the entire news media has put them up. AVDS stated that she doesn't trust the US media so I'm sure she looked at every video regarding Joran and has come up with the 'mental' strategy now.

This son of her's needed help long before NH went missing. He was enabled by the father and perhaps Anita had no say in the matter. Now that she is the sole parent, she will do everything she can to turn the table and try to show how 'crazy' he is now in her effort to save his butt.

I just wonder how much enabling was given to his siblings OR was Joran the favorite son?

 
Joran can't even seem to tell the truth about why he signed the confession.

#1. He was scared of LE. So scared that he just signed everything with no idea of what he signed.

#2. He signed cause they promissed that he could go home to the Netherlands if he signed.

So which is it? Even his lies have lies.:banghead:

This is old news but the interpol statement is what I am taking heart in this morning. Somehow I don't think the insanity plea will help with the wire fraud either. In the highly unlikely event that the Peru charges are dismissed (frosty day in Hades methinks MOO), the extradition to the usa won't be mitigated.

I just wonder how long it will take for us to learn what happens in today's trial....

I know Peru is ahead of us in time....but when will they tell the news media what went down?
