The Doe Network, Part 3: Who is Princess Blue?

Hi everyone;). I still have not intently read the letter, but I did notice something that we may want to change. Under Princess' vital statistics it states that her body my have been out there since the seventies. I am afraid that if someone knows a girl who went missing in say 1989 who fits the description except for that they may not come forward. The truth is that we don't know how long she was out there. I don't think that statement was made by a forensic specialist but instead possibly a member of LE who simply didn't know how long she was out there for.

Although, I can't find reliable info to answer certain forensic questions, certain things tell me that she most likely was not out there since the 70's. They have dentals, for example. Remains left out in all weather in a humid area like Houston probably would not have intact teeth for dentals. Also, she still had viable bone marrow which was tested for drugs. Chances are if she were out there since the 70's, that would not be the case.

We have all heard of cases where DNA and nearly or fully complete remains have been found for people or animals who lived up to thousands of years ago. However, those cases are special. There were either frozen, mummified or fossilized due to the conditions that they remained in for all that time. In the Houston area decomposition would be quick and remains would most likely not be intact for very long. The combination of routine high humidity with high heat would accelerate decomposition.

I am thinking that instead we might say something like, "Her remains may have been out there for as long as the 1970's, however her time of death was more likely in the late 80's to early 1990."

This way we cover our bases all around. What does everyone think?

Very very good point. I especially agree that we don't want anyone to rule out his/her missing friend or family member due to wording regarding when the remains were found.

Thank you Coriess! And, welcome to websleuths:).

I totally agree with you LionRun re: focusing on structure and not traits, for lack of a better word. I have a link somewhere to a site that has actual photo compared to LE model and some are very accurate, whereas others are not.

Jaded, I would be very interested in that link when you find it!

I also have been working inhumane hours lately and I appologize for not holding up my end here. My job will take most of my energy until Sept.
Then I will be back with a vengence!
Glad to still be considered part of this group!

There you go. As you'll see - some of them are not at all near their life likeness, while others are very accurate.

Good morning everyone!
I wanted to welcome dimples37(something!) and reannan...thanks for your interest in this mystery!:waitasec:

The merged image of Cheatham and the facial reproduction of P.Blue sure did catch my eye! Nice work. This lead HAS been given to LE in the past, and they were interested in the resemblance. Unfortunately there is not much info. on her case (Cheatham's) but hoprfully they can still look into it thoroughly.

reannan, thank you for looking into the jewelry angle so much. I had never heard that about the Hawaiian rings...interesting. Ever since the press release came out about this story (about a month ago), "feelers" from it have been in sooo many places. I saw it "connected" to a jewelry site for turquoise jewelry once. Forgive me if I'm not using the correct computer terms...I'm not good at that...jaded, help me out! :p
Btw, jaded, any responses to the letters, or is the P.O. box echoing hollow?

fingers crossed,

UPDATE: We are currently in the process of contacting Kimberly's family. We will update as information becomes available. ;)

Hopefully we'll have news by the end of the day to verify if I have found a relative. Got a phone number and we are trying to reach him. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Just got off the phone. It's not her relative, but we're going to keep trying until we find someone.

Here's one of the pics I did with photoshop.

OMG!!!
I didn't even realize I was still sitting with my hand over my mouth because I gasped out loud!!
It is chilling, for sure. Jaded, how do you do that with the overlays?? And richandfamous, if you're reading, don't you know how to do this, too? Will you share some basic directions with us? You're right, it's not science but it's a good starting place. That's what the facial reproductions and reconstructions are, also...TOOLS!! a possible lead. They are def. based in science, but there is some artistic license and supposition as well, depending on the info. / evidence avail.

NICE JOB!!

I use Paintshop Pro - a graphics program. I pasted the Princess Blue photo and then pasted Kimberly's on top of it and adjusted it to about 45% opacity so that the bottom photo and the top would both be revealed. Here's another one that I put together.

Your reaction is like mine when I was sitting and messing with the overlays this morning.

Very cool - what an asset you are! ;)

another topic - have you recv'd. ANY phone calls, e-mails, or letter responses to the mail-outs from the spreadsheets?

I haven't received any responses from the emails I sent to REL High School alumni who graduated close to 1975 either. I expected it to take a while, so I am not discouraged yet. Jaded, have you sent those overlay pictures to LE? They are really impressive, IMO.

They have seen them. I am going to contact the detective on Kimberly's case tomorrow.

I think I found a marriage record for Kimberly Cheatham....

Husband's Name (Last, First MI)
WILSON PAUL W Husband's Age
20Wife's Name (Last, First MI)
CHEATHAM KIMBERLY S Wife's Age
20Marriage Date
12/2/1988 County Code of Application
212County of Application
SMITH File Number
158198

According to her Missing Reports she would be 20 so that fits I wonder if it's the same girl why she would be reported as missing 4 months later under her married name. I can't see the case discussion on SKM so forgive me if you've already discussed this.

Off to do more sleuthing.

Smith County (where the marriage license was issued) is where Tyler Texas is. It's about 2 hours from Dallas. I live between Dallas and Tyler...closer to Dallas though.

Okay...I think I found the Paul W Wilson from the marriage record. I have Drivers License record with last transaction in 2004. The city that he was last registered in is also in Smith County or pretty darn close to it...I'd have to look. If Jaded or RKnowley wants to take a stab at contacting him you're more than welcome..I'll give you more detailed information if you PM me. However I'd freak if he were a suspect in her disappearance. :-/

According to the database I have, no one else is registered as living at his address.
