Theories we have regarding Kyron's disappearance

I have a child in the Portland Public Schools and it is common for the children to learn about art by studying famous artists and doing their own art in the style of those artists. When my daughter was in second grade they made their own versions of Georgia O'Keefe, Van Gogh, Matisse, and others. I really think that sun picture was Kyron's version of something they studied in class. Looked like some old Mayan or Incan art to me.

I was hoping he was influenced by something he saw around town or his area. It would be something to look into if it was, as if he left us a painted image of someplace he had been with TH or company. If by chance you do see anything similar, let us know. Cases are solved by small things sometimes.

there was a kyron sighting out in massachusetts at the north shore mall in peabody this past sunday...
a woman and her daughter saw a boy and called police...
he fit the description and wore an 'Oregon' shirt.
how bizarre -
mcso was contacted and filed it as just another random sighting. WTF?????

oh - and it took authorities '' a HALF HOUR to respond '' - again - WTF???

we're living in Dante's Cave Parable and Kyron is standing right behind us...
just my opinion.

I think Kyron looks like a lot of little boys his age, except for the glasses and his bad eye sight. That sets him apart. So they may get "sightings" and over time they don't get excited anymore, JMO. If people had a photo of him, like kept in a wallet or some place handy, they could maybe compare the boy sighted and maybe that would help. Me, if I see a boy that looks like him, he is not going anywhere until LE show up. If he is in a car, I will not let them get out of my sight.

Thanks for the update.

I wonder if Kaine has sent flyers to Eye Dr's, along with his RX for glasses? He could maybe do a mass emailing to them, just in case they have filled a RX for a boy his age, could be a place to look into also.

Hi Bern, it's nice to read your words again lately.

This post just reminded me of Mark Bosworth and how differently his family is handling things. Mark is an adult, and so could have potentially got much further on his own. The find Mark group organized volunteers almost purely online, to call every single hospital ER in the country to inquire, and to fax a poster.

Your idea has merit, to our eyes. Why isn't the family really looking if they think he is alive? Why doesn't the current investigation make any sense to us from the outside?

Hi PDX,

I have thought about this before, but for what ever reason didn't post it. Is it possible to ask Kaine or family and see if this is a way to go? I don't know them, but I would be happy to assist in what ever manner I can. :seeya:

I live in the Portland area, and I have been following Kyron's disappearance since the first evening he was reported missing. I have been to Skyline School several times, and I have developed my own possible theory for Kyron's disappearance. Frst of all, I am 100% convinced that Terri Horman orchestrated the whole thing. While I would love to have hope that Kyron is out there somewhere safe and well, I don't believe that he is alive at this point. This is what I think may have happened:

Terri arrived at Skyline School in the Horman truck with Kyron and Kiara at the time she stated. One thing about pathological liars is that they tend to stick as close to the truth as possible and deceive people only as much as is necessary to get away with their scam. It is easier for them to keep eveything straight that way. I also feel that it is highly probable that Terri Horman is a narcissistic sociopath, and her entire adult life has been one of lying and scheming. She fits the profile very well.

Terri would have parked in the parking lot immediately accessible when turning into the Skyline school property. I don't believe that she parked in the back of the buildings. I suspect that she wanted her arrival with the children to be noticed as much as possible.

I am confident that Terri knew the layout of the inside of the school, the outside school grounds, and the daily school procedures very well considering that Kyron had been attending Skyline School for almost 3 years at the time he disappeared, and Terri had volunteered in Kyron's classroom. Skyline School is a very small school located in a rural, close-knit, community setting. Furthermore, Terri would have blended in well that day; people would not give it a second thought if she was seen leaving the school with Kyron.

Another important consideration is that the buses were apparently operating at the normally scheduled time the day that Kyron disappeared. The school buses normally pull into Skyline School at about 8:30-8:35 am. This time correlates very closely to one of the times Terri Horman claimed to have left Kyron in the hallway near his classroom at 8:45 am. Therefore, I feel that she walked out of the school building around 8:30 am with Kiara to the truck, hoping to be seen walking without Kyron to her vehicle and leaving the school grounds. I believe that Terri told Kyron that she had to attend to Kiara for some reason, and for Kyron to wait for her at the door of the building below his classroom so that she could take him to his doctor's appointment. Then, Terri left the school building with Kiara, drove the truck out of the Skyline School parking lot, briefly down Skyline Blvd., and then backed into the access road. Terri probably put Kiara into her carseat and walked back along the access road to meet Kyron at the side exit door of his school. Once they walked down the stairs to the access road, they would be out of view. Alternatively, Terri may have instructed Kyron to meet her at the truck parked below the school on the access road so that she could take him to his doctor's appointment. I believe that Terri did make a doctor's appointment for June 11, 2010, but that she deliberately told the teacher and Kyron that the appointment was scheduled for June 4, 2010. She would have given Kyron detailed instructions to walk out the door and down the steps leading tothe access road next to the soccer field. Due to the science fair activities, and the distractions of other students being dropped off by the buses, it is unlikely that Kyron would be noticed at all leaving the school through the before mentioned door and down the steps. The access road is far enough below the school and playground, Kyron would not be visible once he walked down the steps and turned left along the access road. If anyone did actually see Kyron walking alone, it would simply later give credibility to the idea that he wandered off and got lost somewhere. If someone intercepted Kyron and escorted him to Terri at the truck, it would be a matter of explaining that she was trying to sooth Kiara in a quiet spot parked away from the school until Kyron was finished looking at the exhibits. The truck parked on the access road would not be visible from the school grounds unless someone were to walk out to the edge of the playground and look directly over the edge. The front cab of the van is higher than the covered truck bed; Kyron would not be seen by a possible person driving down Skyline Blvd. It would be an easy thing for Terri Horman to subdue Kyron and stash him in the back of the truck in a container to eliminate any forensic evidence. Then, it is simply a matter of Terri driving to the 2 Fred Meyers for her alibi building, and then at least an hour and a half spent "disappearing" Kyron from her life forever. I believe that Terri acted alone; I don't believe that a friend would willingly participate in the disposal of a child. If anyone was involved, it could be that someone gave Terri the idea of how to "disappear" Kyron, maybe from their own personal family experience. If someone physically assisted Terri, I believe that it was after the fact. For example, maybe someone helped Terri by watching Kiara. I believe that Kyron is within the Skyline community--possibly even on the Horman property--but has been overlooked in previous searches. I also feel that he could still possibly be on Sauvie Island or in the Dixie Mountain area. Unfortunately the Pacific northwest is ideal for crimes against missing persons; the terrain here is so rugged, treacherous, and vast. I don't believe that Terri is a mastermind criminal either. I feel that she has just been very lucky that Kyron hasn't been found at this point. I do sincerely believe that Kyron is out there in the local area waiting for someone to find him. I also believe that law enforcement knows that Terri Horman is 100% responsible for Kyron's disappearance, but that they don't yet have enough information to charge her for his murder. There is still the slightest possibility that Terri sold Kyron to someone. Without finding little Kyron, it is a case of purely circumstantial evidence. I have not given up hope that Kyron will be found. Just my own opinion.

Thanks Helenstreet. I heard that Terri was at the school the day before but I can't find a link for this. I know LE was looking for video footage of her from June 3rd as well as the 4th. I wonder what vehicle she had on the 3rd and where she went that day. If she planned this, she would have visited the place where she disposed of Kyron, to make sure everything worked out for her and to scout out the area. She needed to make sure she didn't get busted.

Hi Matou. Yes, I remember something about June 3, 2010. Wasn't Kyron's science fair project taken to Skyline School the day before, on June 3rd? I wonder if Terri needed the truck to take it to school as well since she claimed to need the truck for picking up the science fair project. This case has gone on so long now. I really hope that they are continuing to build their case and there will be a break soon. I feel so bad for Desiree and Kaine.

BBM: I totally agree ...

Over the past year, my theories on how Terrie got Kyron out of the school have "wavered" ... :innocent: the more I read and the more I "think" about it, the more I change my mind ...

But after reading your theory, I think that it is very possible that is how TH did it ...

IMO ... I don't think TH had any sort of "elaborate plan". I think her plan was to have Kyron meet her at one of the doors, at the truck -- at a certain time so she could take him to the doctor ... and I do NOT believe she told Kyron anything about a "doctor's appointment" until the morning of the Fair ... I think TH and Kyron simply walked out of the school to the truck -- NOT together -- but eventually met up at some point ... and she was darn "lucky" there was so much activity and people around that no one probably noticed anything "out of the ordinary" ...

IMO ... I think TH had a "plan" that was actually more "simple". I "think" that TH did schedule a doctor's appointment for the Friday AFTER the Science Fair -- not the day of ... But TH told the teacher something like "Friday - doctor appt -- sort of in a vague way -- that way TH could easily say the teacher or school "misunderstood" her ...

One thing I am just still not sure about is whether or not TH had the baby with her at the Science Fair ... I know I have gone on a "rant" about this somewhere in one the threads here ... but IMO, there is NO confirmation that the baby was with TH in Skyline at the Science Fair.

I do believe that TH had an "accomplice" ... BUT this "accomplice" was NOT at the school ... TH's accomplice came in at one of the FM's parking lots, or stores, maybe the gym ... and most definitely during her "alleged" 90 minutes driving around to "soothe" the baby's ear-ache ...

I wish Kyron would be found SOON !

MOO ...

What would Terri's motive be for this premediated act?

Based on her reported bizarre behaviors, I don't think that a logical motive will suffice to explain why she may have been involved with his disappearance.

She didn't like Kyron and blamed him for her marriage woes. I believe she was also jealous of Desiree and felt put out that she was raising Desiree's son, doing all the hard work, yet Desiree was the "Disneyland mom." I think she was also jealous of the bond Kyron and Kaine had, and wanted that for her daughter instead.

I can't help feeling that TH would have acted more spontaneously, perhaps in a "drunken" rage against Kyron, if she were inclined to be rid of him, rather than spend a great deal of time and effort in concocting what seems to be an unbreakable plot. Or even staged an event where she claims Kyron was taken in a large store, something like that, even more like Sky's mom has done. Whatever happened to Kyron seems more professional to me, seeing how every LE agency in the country, more or less, has been unable to "connect the dots" in any meaningful way. In almost every case I've followed, there have been people with apparent alibis who turn out to be uninvolved, it seems. When a family is looked at under a microscope, there are almost always tensions or worse lurking below the surface, but sometimes there is still the malignant stranger who happened by to commit the crime. JMO. Keeping an open mind as to what happened to Kyron.

Thank you for your post. I agree--I don't believe that Terri "had an elaborate plan" that day either. Actually, my description of what she may have done sounds a lot more elaborate in text than what it entails. I believe that--as Desiree mentioned previously--if things hadn't fallen into place for Terri that day, she would have scrapped her plan. I do feel that perhaps it was a fantasy of hers that she had entertained in her mind to do for possibly quite some time. Look at her Facebook page's pictures of Kyron. Just a few months prior to his disappearance, on the relatively few pictures that she posted of him, his last name was no longer there. Yet, very other family member, including her son, JM, has both names listed. I believe that Terri was mentally removing Kyron from the family up to the point that she physically eliminated him from his family. I am also not convinced that Baby K was in Skyline School that day, but because so many people have insisted that she was--on this forum and others--I just included her in the events. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that an accomplice would know about all this and not come forward by now incriminating Terri in Kyron's disappearance. I don't think I can say too much here, but someone familiar with this case convinced me that LE is 100% sure that Terri is responsible for Kyron's disappearance from Skyline School; that this was not a stranger's abduction. There is just the very slightest possibility that she sold him to someone.

I believe she was also jealous of Desiree and felt put out that she was raising Desiree's son, doing all the hard work, yet Desiree was the "Disneyland mom." I think she was also jealous of the bond Kyron and Kaine had, and wanted that for her daughter instead.

Exactly. I believe that Kyron came to represent Kaine's past relationship with Desiree. Terri, in my opinion, was intensely jealous of Kyron; that is why she was trying to find fault with him. The fact that Kyron was still very attached to his mother, Desiree was probably a huge issue with Terri. It is possible that she became pregnant with Kiara hoping to distract Kaine's very obvious and strong attachment to his son, Kyron. Remember when Kaine made the statement that they hadn't planned on any more children, and he was surprised at the pregnancy of Kiara? I am not quoting, but it was something like that. I have no doubt that Kaine loved and loves his daughter, but Kyron was his first child and only son. Although it is hard to imagine someone being motivated to harm and/or murder a child, to a sociopath it is not the same. Sociopaths don't have that kind of compassion and empathy for others--it is all about them.

Actually, pathological liars are habitual, compulsive liars who lie about small things and big things both. They don't lie only when it is important, and they don't stick as close to the truth as possible. If Terri had been a pathological liar, Kaine would have known about it many years earlier, and there's no indication of that.

This is the doc I created and sent out ... the photo was provided to the Media, I put all the info on it based on what was released by the Family and by NCMEC.

I like your design. My biggest concern is that the photo of Kyron looks like he is a year or two younger than he was when he went missing, but I may be mistaken.

I'm not so sure. Scott Peterson was a pathological liar and he still has his parental units fooled! He fooled everyone for years!
