SC - Kenneth Hinson for abduction, rape of 2 teens, Darlington, 2006

I'm stunned.

I can only assume the jury knows something we don't.

These girls .. as far as my memory recalls were kept prisoners..

WTF?? who was paid off, bribed or otherwise?
He admitted that the girls thought they could steal his drugs?
OK, good then Nail his A$$ on that:)
At last check drug violations warrant a harsher sentence anyways.

It absolutely amazes me, that these so called "people" believed a monster over children.

I wonder how they would have voted if their daughters/granddaughters were put into the same prediciment?

What happens when a girl isn't believed:

Huntley 'admits child sex attack'

Soham child killer Ian Huntley has confessed to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, the victim's solicitor said.
Hailey Giblin, now 21, has always maintained she was one of the killer's first victims in 1997.
She insists the police should have taken action against Huntley - who went on to murder 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
Mrs Giblin's solicitor, Richard Scorer, said: "Huntley has signed a consent order in the presence of his solicitor, admitting the allegations in the claim.
"In light of this new evidence we will now present this information to Humberside Police and ask them to reopen the investigation in relation to Hailey's allegations."
Mrs Giblin, who waived her right to anonymity, said she felt "a massive sense of relief" after hearing that Huntley had admitted attacking her.

I saw this story and came right over here. It makes me SICK. I am ususally vehemently opposed to this, BUT. I hope he meets some Southern justice, very quickly.

WTF did the jury think he had an underground dungeon for anyway???

:slap:

This is sick.

According to the story I read, it was to hide his pot. I definitely feel like we are missing something somewhere. This is too unbelievable to me.

A jury has found a convicted sex offender accused of raping two teen girls in an underground bunker not guilty of kidnapping, sex crimes and assault with intent to kill.

Kenneth Glenn Hinson, 48, wiped his eyes and mouth and appeared to cry after the jury read its verdict, which followed about four hours of deliberations over two days.

"I think the verdict says it all," he said as he was escorted from the courtroom.

Anyone care to wager how long it wil; be before yet another girl is attacked by him?

A defense witness, Tim Beasley, said that at a house where he had bought drugs, he overheard one of the teens tell a woman the two girls made up the kidnapping story because they had stolen marijuana from Hinson's underground room and were afraid he would retaliate.

edited to add.. I wonder how that explains the semen on the one girl, and her bodily fluids on him. Unless of course he WAS telling the truth, and it WAS consensual.

I have a dungeon. Lots of people have them - but they are used (supposed to be used) strictly for CONSENSUAL fun. Nothing else. Anything non consensual is criminal.

I was just waiting for you to weigh in, Glitch! ;)

I can't really comment on this case because I have not followed the trial closely and have no idea what evidence was presented. I was surprised to hear he got off scott-free.

A few years from now we'll probably hear he was arrested again only for murder the next girls won't be so lucky!

Help me piece together the story together from the defense point of view.
The girls stole pot from him and called the police to say they were raped because...they were afraid he would call the police and say he stole pot from him???
I'm glad Glitch weighed in, though, I don't think she's defending him. "Dungeon" alone isn't the flashpoint--it's "nonconsensual."

No, they were afraid he would retaliate. I read a bit about this a few days ago. The one girls mother was this guys livin boyfriend. If memory serves, the other girl lived in a nearby trailor, and they biggybacked on the other trailors electric. They also showered at his place. So maybe "retaliation" was him just telling their mothers that the girls stole his pot, and he would cut electric off to the trailor next door. But still.. unless these girls were .. basically, hos, why on earth would they be having sex with this creep? The one girls mothers boyfriend.

Unbelievable! I don't know about this case, but it sure sounds like it would've been a slam-dunk. It sucks that they can't let the jury know that he had raped a 12 year old before - maybe then they would've believed the teen girls.

Prayers for everyone affected by this sicko's actions.

yeah, I agree.. I read up on it a few days ago, thinking it was a slam dunk as well. The only thing I can come up with is, these girls may have had quite an unsavory history. The jury did not believe them.
Also, I think that in SC, multiple convictions of raping a juvenile is a mandatory death sentence. I am not sure what age SC defines as juvenile though, or if the jury even knew about the prior conviction. If they did, they may have allowed the reason for doubt, to be much bigger.

It would be interesting to hear the jurors points of view.
