Men Held In Keighley Alyea’s Killing
Body Found Monday In Rural Cass County Field

Two of the three men arrested in connection with Keighley Alyea's killing are in the Johnson County jail in Olathe and the third is being held in the jail in Gardner.

Police had been searching two homes in Johnson County, Kan., earlier in the day -- one in Overland Park and the other in Shawnee. Policed collected evidence and took pictures at each of the scenes.

"It just kind of shakes me up," said Alyea's friend Jaymes Beebe. "I fell asleep for a little while last night but I've been up ever since. I know they've been up -- everybody's been up all night. Just worried to death trying to find out why and what happened. And where she was at and how they did it. And why they did it, if we can get an explanation."

Ok, so we have aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery with murder in the first. If I recall they can file for the DP because the murder took place during the course of a kidnapping. Which I suspect will likely happen, at the very least to use as a club to get them to plead out (see the Kelsey Smith case). Never mind the fact that there's three guys and it's conceivable that at least one of them will plead in exchange for testimony. </my two cents>

Still so many unanswered questions to what led LE to the field.....raeann posted that this is quite far from where they all lived.

I wonder now if this Dustin is the abusive one. Maybe he forced her to get his name tattooed on her shoulder as a way of claiming his "property". So sad, she was so young :(

Well, regardless the post is showing up as 11:06pm CST which is 2 hours after they found her at ~9pm. I don't think there's a discrepancy.

Dillard said that within the last few weeks Alyea woke up one night to the sound of Hilt tapping on her window. When she woke up, she realized that Hilt also had tried to contact her several times by phone, but the phone was on vibrate and she didn&#8217;t hear it.

Gammill said that Hilt didn&#8217;t have a place to live.

I agree, Luke. Part of this gang will plead, if not all. I won't be surprised if some charges are ammended. Surely, one of them will roll over on the other two.
 
It's nice seeing everyone again, but it's sad that it's under these circumstances. I don't know too much about this case, in fact, I just heard about it last night. I've got a sick mom so I've been very busy with her. I am going to go back and read what everyone has posted.

The first thing I thought of was Kelsey.

Prosecutors on Tuesday charged 18-year-old Dustin Hilt of Shawnee, 18-year-old Gerald Calbeck of Merriam and 21-year-old Joseph Mattox in the death of Keighley Ann Alyea.

Alyea's body was found in a Cass County farm field near East 235th Street and South State Route K Highway at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Alyea disappeared about midnight Sept. 29. An autopsy was being conducted Tuesday at the Jackson County medical examiner's office in Kansas City, Mo.

The public information officer for the Cass County sheriff told KCTV5's Greg Adeline that the body was found near the north fence line. The body was found about a quarter to a half mile away from the roadway.

Doing some research it looks like Hilt could have some ties to Harrisonville and possibly the Belton area. Also, It appears that Joseph Mattox possibly has a relative that lives on 245th in Harrisonville, just down the road from the intersection of K Hwy and 235.
