FL - Adam Kaufman on trial for the murder of wife Eleanora Kaufman, 33

I had to go to the doctor dan it what did I miss? I wish i knew how to record on the net phoeey and then i went to ALDI if yall have one in yer area you should check them out. I spent 355 and it took 2 hours to put up everthing! Food for over a month for my monster eating 15 yr old son LOL

I am really surprised that the prosecution brought Fara in to testify. She did NOTHING to help them and, in fact, helped the defense.

Ms. WM, I do feel for you and your seizures. I have had to deal with student having seizures over the years and I learned early on not even to put anything into the mouth, just try and get the head turned to the side. In your case, your doctor, family members, etc., know about them.

In this case, the fainting aspect gives my hinky meter a budge. Lina's mother testified rather cavilierly about them, saying, "It was just Lina." I truly wonder if she had as many fainting spells as Mom said. I have a sneaking suspicion and, IMHO, a doctor found a spot in the tissues which could be due to myocarditis and ran with it as a plausible scenario. Mom, fearful of losing contact with her grandchildren, may have gone along. Again, JMHO

Also, if Lina suffered from heart disease, why is it she literally sailed through surgery without any warning signs? Why did everyone in the family say she had no medical conditions and didn't mention regular fainting spells???

Hi Carolinamoon:seeya:, Thanks for your response. I wish I had answers to your questions.

From a personal standpoint, my mother has always referred to them as fainting spells. I think in her mind there is a stigma attached to the word 'seizure' which indcates a damaged person. I was referred to a specialist for my 'fainting spells' as a teen and he diagnosed a heart problem. I don't recall what he called it back then but it's now called mitrol valve prolapse. I wonder how frequently Lina suffered seizures? I avg one about every 5 years. (fortuantely not often)

Sounds like AK should have known about his wife's medical conditions tho. NOt sure about the mom as she may not have witness LIna seizing since she married AK.

('That's just Lina' sounds like something my mother would say in trying to sugarcoat the fact that mom is a narcissist and had neglected to mention the medical conditions so I guess I am a bit jaded on that subject. Think CA :maddening:)

Watching trials is our thing.

The Prosecutions rebuttal witnesses, Farrah and Seth, didn't help them much at all. For me, it even made them look a little desperate. Farrah had only good things to say about Adam; Seth was a loving brother, who was in pain for this twin brother.

I agree! Farrah gave Adam a heart... The testimony backfired for the Prosecution. they should have known what she was going to say. Totally negated the 'shock' of learning he dated so soon. Now he looks like a sad, grieving husband. Not a killer.

He's going to get off.

I just don't get it either. It's like they know they have no chance at getting a conviction based on the evidence, so they want the jury to dislike him as much as possible and the "OMG!!!! He dated quickly after Lina died!" was something they wanted to use to sway the jury but like you, it seemed to backfire. She didn't do anything to help them. I was really expecting a bombshell. Like they were still together and got serious right away but instead.. they were friends with benefits. Seth didn't help either.

I guess they'll just have to hope the judge lets in the prior bad acts against AK, so they'll convict him on that. I still think the judge will let it in. She seems convinced that it was murder(she repeatedly calls it a homicide) and since the case is going so badly for the state, she'll try to help them out.

I just don't see how he's convicted. Even if you think she was murdered and he was the only one there, there's just nothing to connect and too many doubts and the investigation sucked.

I don't think he did it. I think there is a lot the medical world not only does not know but does not understand and she did indeed die of heart problems and that she was injuried after as they tried to save her life. JMO

I'm :fence: myself, jumping one way and then another. At this point, I would have to call it reasonable doubt.

There are two things I think will help me make a decision. First is Dr. Mott (sp) who will testify Monday. He apparently did an extensive study of the heart and will testify as to his findings.

I don't totally trust the defense witnesses, because they seem to have studied only the "damaged" part of the heart. They had somewhat different opinions.

Secondly, I want to hear the jail phone calls to see what Adam was discussing with his family.

To add to the whole complexity, Farrah (sp) did say something that piqued my curiosity. She told the prosecutor that Adam told her that he found Lina on the toilet with her head on the magazine "rack." One would have to be an unconscious contortionist to end up in that small space with the head in that position.

Oh, and another thing... Baden said the big, bad paramedics caused the neck damage. Then, how is it that Adam mentioned the "marks" on her neck in his 911 call? As was pointed out in an earlier post, there has to be blood circulation for such "marks" to develop. IMHO, Lina was dead or almost dead even before the 911 call.

It is common for women's, especially young women's health problems to be ignored. Many a woman has been told her health issues are psychological, hormonal or from anxiety. Even middle age women's heart symptoms were not taken seriously 5 years ago. They are just now realizing and addressing that women die of heart attacks too. I can also see how she would have put off going to the doctor, because of her young children. She may have been scared of what she would hear or minimized the episodes. We don't know that her family didn't tell her to go, and her Mom did say she said it had happened before and everything went back to normal. Because two experts educated us on the heart and what they believe caused her death, I now believe that Adam is innocent. That is very pertinent information. It also helped to hear the girlfriend's testimony as she confirmed that Adam still missed and loved Lina and couldn't get serious in a relationship for awhile. We do not know his current status, 5 years later. The statistics show that widowed men marry soon after their spouses death, or it is not uncommon.

I think it was a tragic accidental death. It is true that people who suffer emotional trauma of this nature don't remember details exactly. They get things confused. Even Nancy Grace who is so quick to believe grieving people's guilt has said she doesn't even remember the trial of the person who murdered her fiance, she was in such a fog. I do not have trouble visualizing the scenarios put forth in this trial. It was such a small space, and it is probable that she fell forward onto the magazines from the toilet. As Dr. Baden said she might have been at an angle. No one knows for sure. But I do believe she died from a medical event. I think asphyxia from the foam in her mouth and throat is a very strong possibility. She could also have had convulsions which caused her body to thrash, and her neck could have been extended, and in a position to cause the marks on her neck as she convulsed. More than one scenario is a possibility. It is least likely, imo, that Adam strangled her because she did not have the broken bones that are typical in a strangulation and that is why the ME couldn't call it a strangulation.

I agree.

Honestly I think he killed her and he is using every penny his family has to get himself out of this one. This is the what...third or forth time they have had to buy him out of a mess.

I think Lina came home from her friends house and Adam went out. When he returned later that night something triggered an argument and she said something and he got really mean.

He was so huge and strong and Lina was gone in the wink of an eye.

Adam gave three different stories of how Lina died and called his brother who he always went to when he was in trouble. He was already in a defensive mode.

Remember the glove that didn't fit in the OJ trial and the Hooker shoe in the Mary Winkler trial and then we had the George and Casey story.

Well this is the heart story where lightening struck. The defense invented all of this for this trial. It's a fairy tale folks. Lina was killed and Adam was the only one there.

Gosh I hope this jury's smart enough to see this and don't give him a pass.

The judge is ready to get this case to the jury . She asked if both teams were ready to go to closing and both are ready but the state wants an hour and a half and the judge wants to get them closer to an hour. Defence says it only needs an hour.

We will hear jail calls and rebuttal on heart defeat issues.

Jury is being bought into the court room now. I wonder how long the jury will take to decide?

Grrr... CNN is again taking forever to load this AM. Then, cat goes to vet at 10:30. Thank heavens for DVR for InSession!

This expert, Dr. Mott is a specific cardiac pathologist. I'm venturing a guess that the prosecution saved hm for rebuttal to Baden so that Baden couldn't huff and puff his way through some complicated bluff to this testimony.

I also wonder what the jail calls will yield. After the GZ fiasco in another case I will not mention, I can only hope that Adam was being more his true self, which we haven't seen yet.

I really DON'T think Adam did it............and I honestly believe that! As I have stated before and I know others have, I have grand moll seizures every once in a great while and I could have easily fell while going the bathroom and died. Thank God it hasn't happened yet but some of my seizures have came very close to horrible incidents happening, lucky someone heard me fall and was around. Pro Pit Bull Attorney and Adam Kaufman here.

hi everyone, i am new but have been reading your posts for years and finally decided to say hello. i am also a serious trial junkie and have been following trials for over 20 years. i dvr in session every day and read everything i can find on each trial. this trial is such a mystery to me- after all the evidence i am left with a gut feeling that won't go away. i believe it was an accident- he did it. i believed him innocent when i first started following but now-- guilty.

Guys, I am still on the fence. I think the investigation was so flawed and the prosecutors are trying to save the day with this rebuttal. I don't think it's working. This doctor did not receive updated information aobut the case before being sent the slides. That was a big mistake on the part of the prosecution. It undermines the quality of his testimony.

Milian did the pit-bull cross by bringing up every out-of-the norm situation.

Luvlife, I appreciate your position based on your own experiences. However, at no time has anyone said that Lina suffered from seizures. If she did, you can be sure the defense would have brought it up over and over. If she had, I'm sure that, on the first occurrance, 911 would have been called and she would have been taken to the hospital. there would have been some sort of medical record.

All in all, I don't think the prosecution has met the burden. Without a bombshell with the jail recordings, Adam will be acquitted. However, I don't think this is going to happen. The rebuttal has been a bust as well as the rest of the prosecution.

Did he do it? I have no clue.

I believe the defense won in the rebuttal of Dr. Mont. They brought out such good points and again planted reasonable doubt, imo. I also think it is underhanded and not likely to win this case by bringing in jail house tapes at this juncture.

I would want to hear the ME say they find scarring in non important areas of the heart all the time so i could disregard the scar as a cause of death. I dont know if they have done this or not.

I know that even strepthroat can cause rheumatic fever.(causes heart scarring) My father in law had it so I guess they found this out before he died. He did not die from that scar.

and still a scar on your heart does not make marks on your neck! I would want to hear testimony that paramedica can cause that type of scarring during CPR.I think you need a pumping heart to get a bruise.

The one thing that I keep reminding myself is the fact he says it on 911 like he knows they will find this and he is trying to answer for it. Notice he didnt say there was stains on the magizine rack. He points out the obvious, like oops she is brused from the pressure.

I dont trust Baden as far as I can throw him..
