I feel sick sitting in the same city that this THING is in right now. Don't know what else to call him/it.

Picture after picture show Russell Williams naked or almost naked, wearing women's underwear. The Crown says they are showing Williams' escalation. We are only at the first house he broke into."

No mention of MEH being in the courtroom, so I assume she is not attending. Good thing! JMO

I'm going to go have some breakfast, but it will be a miracle if I can keep it down after all this. WG, I'm hoping you can keep up the good work while I'm gone. BBS.
 
My mind goes back to a conversation I had with someone that attended the homes following his arrest. I now completely understand what that person meant when he said that this was the right man, and that I wouldn't believe the stuff they had seen.

My heart is absolutely shattered for anyone involved in this.
 
OMG. This is so much more horrifying that I could have imagined.

This just blows me away. TOO MUCH??? They found 600 pairs of underwear. How many MORE did he get rid of, and how many MORE VICTIMS?????

Ken and Sharon Jones, who live in Belleville, tucked themselves in a corner behind the cameras on the courthouse steps.

The couple attends all the repatriation ceremonies in nearby Trenton for the slain Canadian Forces soldiers whose bodies are returning from Afghanistan. They had taken photos of Williams as a celebrated Colonel when the Olympic torch came through last year.

"This has done so much damage to the image of the forces," Sharon says somberly.

The couple plans to return each day of the hearing.

"It has hit the community really hard," Ken says of how the case has affected Belleville. "But it's bringing everyone together. It's on everyone's mind."

Minutes later, inside, Russell Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder, a clinical treatment for the end of the lives of two young women.

Perverse photography

Assistant Crown Attorney Robert Morrison says thousands of photos were taken and meticulously filed on two computer hard drives that he hid above the ceiling of the basement of his Ottawa home.

Court will only be shown a portion of them -- perhaps hundreds of them.

The pictures will include, he said, photographing the murder of Corporal Marie-France Comeau.

Comparisons to the horrific crimes of school-girl killer Paul Bernardo are inescapable.


Court heard that Williams claimed he targeted the homes of attractive adult women, but many of the break and enters targeted children's rooms and undergarments.

Added to the intense creepiness of the incidents, his first photo escapade was a neighbour whose daughter was a family friend who looked after the Williams' beloved cat, Curio, and had a key to his cottage.

I was wondering about MEH myself. It does seem odd that no one has tweeted on this.

Thank you all for posting as I had to go out this morning and you kept me right up to date. Keep up the great posts. As I have to go out again , grrr

It's a staggering number of trophies, but we also have to remember that there are multiples from the same homes. Some women had entire drawersful missing.
 
Multiplicity

Although charged with 86 counts, Williams warped fetish burglaries were on only 48 different residences -- 23 in Tweed and 25 in Ottawa.

Only 17 were reported to police, meaning that most of his home invasions likely went unnoticed.

Most were at night, after midnight.
