I read somewhere that he'll have to find his own lawyer and it won't be JT. I don't have any idea how quickly the trial will go though. With three judges deciding his fate, I'm envisioning almost the same thing as the tribunal at the Hague several years ago for the war crimes. IOW, it may take a while! MOO

Might not be long at all since Joran has to prove his innocence!;)

Mr Flores has been mentioned being affliated with the circus. The business is big in Lima. I have seen articles on this subject in google but I am not going to link them, but if your interested they are on the net.

I don't think it's conflicting. Both of us stated that the ME theorized or that the injuries may have been caused by.....

Right, it's not the theory, but specifically, your last contribution:

could be interpreted two ways; 1) that her trauma was so severe it would have had to have been physically 'bashed against the corner of a wooden bed frame' (as in the first post of yours I quoted) or 2) it would have taken an instrument other than the bed frame to cause such trauma.

I'm sorry, I seriously didn't mean to offend, but when I initially read that, by the term "more severe" than to be caused by simply falling and hitting the bed frame, that elluded to another instrument being involved.

As I recall hearing interrogations can be particularly ...umm.....painful, in Peru;)

I say, waterboard him till he tells both sets of parents evrything they want to know.!

Excellent idea, Linda!! :furious:

boy - you guys move fast in posting on these threads....

REPORTED ON 20/20 on 4 June 2010
SF's father said "she is a hero" and stated no other women will die in the hands of Joran, it will help Natalee's family. What a beautiful person he is (JMO) no mention of his grief, just all the positive things that have resulted from his daughter's death.
SF family member investigating her disappearance (not coming home for 3 days) was told she had left the Atlantic City casino with Joran. She did an Internet search and learned of Joran/Natalee case and took it to the authorities.
Joran stole her $5k winnings.

I hope Joran sits in jail and is NOT bonded out, 4 yr wait per "Krowdkat" post is fine with me, than let him be found guilty. I hope he does not get any special treatment. I also hope the officials take their time gathering evidence to prove without a doubt that this is indeed guilty.
***
In the meantime, the FBI can finalize the extortion case and he can be charged with that too!
***
Justice for Natalee, Justice for Stephany!

And in Peru, only need a preponderance of evidence to convict.

Just an observation ... ... orange doesn't work well as a disguise!

this is a post from thread #2 - I don't recall seeing this anywhere else - BeyondBelief - you can link the article??

sorry I just started reading THIS thread so don't know if this has been answered yet!!

One thing I did get from the Dateline show was a better translation/understanding of what her father supposed had said about Stephany sacrificing herself to bring Joran to justice.

It sounded to me that he was taking comfort in his faith, and that he believed that God took her for a reason, and that by her death there would be justice for Natalee and that no other woman would have to suffer because of Joran. I think he is trying to make sense out of this senseless brutality and it gives him comfort to think that her death will not be in vain.

It was on Dateline? I better check that recording also. Oh my ............

This is one thing about the internet that gets me everytime. We get the play by play, mixed messages, but boy it is exciting, like we are there. Just makes us thirsty to know it ALL...NOW!

just had to quote Carolina Girl - Right on!!

thank you for the photo. She does not have a jacket on in this photo. Are you able to tell if this was taken in the casino?

no offense taken. According to Mark F, the ME did theorize that she may have been based against the wooden bed frame, and said that he thought her injuries were more severe than from just falling.

It could also be true that some type of wooden weapon, like a bat, was also used - but Mark didn't mention that there was a bat or another wooden weapon.

I remember from past cases that sometime Mark doesn't always immediately share everything he learns. Sometimes he waits to get further confirmation, or maybe because he has promised a source that he will keep something confidential. I don't know if that is the case here or not.

I agree with whoever said that we have to remember than early in a case, there are always conflicting reports. It will sort itself out at some point. I'm heading to bed; maybe we'll have more and better information tomorrow.

 Good night all...

See you in the morning....
