Isn't it early for tornados? I have a feeling this is going to be a bad weather year.

Yeah it is unusual for January but yesterday was an incredibly warm and stormy day (tornado weather, temps in the high seventies and high winds).

We lost power for 6 hours, fortunately I was so busy trying to get the generator to start (unsuccessfully) that I didn't have time to worry about tornadoes.

I'm a severe weather spotter for the NWS and we learned that tornadoes can, and have, happened in every month on the calender, and also in every state in the U.S.

Weather alert radio just posted alert for tornadoes, hail and other severe weather. Be safe all!

We really need a Weather Forum. So much going on at once, ice storms, blizzards, severe weather and tornadoes.

The Tallahassee area and coastal area south and west was under a tornado warning yesterday and flood warnings....Tally floods easily with all the hills and low areas...The tornado passed along the coast about 10 miles below me and didn't come on land here, thank goodness!

Here is a link showing the rainfall in the area:

Good luck down south!

My local observation. It is pouring rain at my house...lol. In Ga the CSRA area

Wjbf.com local news just reported live that North Augusta SC received 6.20 inches of rain in one hour last night, Grove Apartments where flooded, residents did evacuate.
Also Reeds Creek on Fury's Ferry Rd area in Martinez, Ga. also overflowed and flooded some areas. I knew it is was a hard rain, but I went to sleep and slept like a baby.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA AND
CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL ONCE AGAIN BE POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT
THE DAY. HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN ISSUES
WITH THE STORMS.
http://forecast.weather.gov/showsig...oduct1=Hazardous+Weather+Outlook#.Uazdz0CsjTo

Tropical weather moving my way.. I am gonna get wet for 3 days

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
EVEN THOUGH A SURFACE BOUNDARY WILL STILL BE OFF TO THE SOUTH OF
THE AREA...MUCH OF THE CWA WILL STILL BE IN A MOIST AIRMASS.
EXPECT TO HAVE SOME LINGERING SHOWER/STORM ACTIVITY EARLY TONIGHT
BEFORE DISSIPATING. BEST CHANCE SHOULD BE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
COUNTIES. BY THURSDAY THE SURFACE LOW THAT IS IN THE GULF OF
MEXICO WILL BE MOVING NORTHWARD TOWARDS THE GULF COAST. AS AN
UPPER LEVEL TROUGH BEGINS TO APPROACH THE AREA...MOISTURE WILL BE
FLOWING NORTHWARD IN ADVANCE OF THE SURFACE LOW. PW VALUES WILL
ONCE AGAIN BE BACK ABOVE 2 INCHES THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY...WHICH
WILL LEAD TO HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND FLOODING CONCERNS WITH ANY SLOWER
MOVING STORMS.
SYSTEM WILL MOVE TOWARDS AND THROUGH THE REGION
FROM THURSDAY NIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY. THERE REMAINS TIMING AND
MOVEMENT ISSUES...SO CONFIDENCE NOT HIGH REGARDING OVERALL TRACK
OF THE LOW. HOWEVER RAINFALL CHANCES WILL INCREASE THURSDAY AND
FRIDAY INTO THE LIKELY TO CATEGORICAL RANGE. THE LOW SHOULD BE
MOVING NORTHEAST OF THE AREA BY FRIDAY NIGHT...WHICH WILL CAUSE
THE CHANCE FOR RAINFALL TO DECREASE. AS FOR TEMPS...GUIDANCE IS
COMING IN A LITTLE COOLER FOR BOTH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HIGHS
SHOULD STILL REACH THE 80S...BUT TRENDING MORE TOWARDS THE LOWER
80S.

BBM, I don't like this some areas here got 10 inches of rain Sunday night.. We already had flooding this week
