Are all government workers fingerprinted? I know his DNA and fingerprints were checked for matches, but what if he was some type of aid worker that was in the south for the hurricanes and was presumed dead after he didn't return home?

This is interesting, from the first link in SS post 197:

People in the area noticed a man in a bass boat around 10:30 a.m. Only an hour later people in the area reported the vessel adrift with no one manning the vessel in the White Oak Creek area. Articles of clothing were also discovered along the creek

The name of the boater is not known at this time.

Red Cross and the Salvation Army search for missing people don't they? Benjaman should register his case with them, if he hasn't already.

Ooo, fancy, thanks SS!

Learned something new today.

Might be a stretch, but...
The charred remains of a life boat from the sunken tanker Bow Mariner floats off the coast of Virginia, Sunday Feb. 29, 2004. The 570-foot tanker exploded and sank 50 miles off the coast of Chincoteague, Va., Saturday evening. Three crewmembers were killed and six resuced 18 others are missing. The Coast Guard have called off the search for the remaining crew. (AP Photo/US Coast Guard, ho)

I like this one, but it is so far away from Richmond Hill. I don't know how he would have gotten that far with no clothing unless he just had shorts on. Would be a very long walk!

The man missing from Tybee Inlet would make more sense because with the rip tide...it could have washed him down towards Ossawba Island and carried him inland...but he would have been gone for three months.

Also, I ran across information on a 100 day heat wave in GA during that time. Could explain why he had on no clothes maybe.

Not a possibility, but it gives us HOPE for Mr. Kyle!!

Missing man turns up at hospital

A Highland man reported missing on June 22 resurfaced Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland with no memory of where he had been or why he had left town, authorities said. By Tuesday evening, James E. Schauster, 53, had been released from the hospital and stood outside his house pondering where he had been for the last two weeks.
Schauster said he remembered bumping his head on a water pipe in his basement on June 19 as he worked to fix a leak.
The next thing...

I remember this. I think the missing were all Hispanic and there was some question as to the immigration status.

Also a stretch... this is from Oklahoma:
Driver missing after truck plunges into lake

I'm searching the words missing presumed dead in Google News for all articles appearing in 2004. Unfortunately between the tsumanis, some major disaster in Haiti, and what seems like a TON of missing mountain climbers, it's a lot to weed through. There are 2100 articles though, maybe something will come up.

he was attacked who is to say they didn't steal his clothes along with everything else? Maybe he was down there under false pretenses for a business deal and the person thought he was dead when they dumped him behind the dumpster. Did they check the dumpster when they found him for any clues? Check hotels in the area?(do they make copies of ID's at all hotels?maybe left luggage behind and didn't check out)

Sorry just thinking out loud.

I have to take off for the weekend, but I was searching these words missing presumed dead on Google News from 2004. I got through page 50. If someone is bored and wants to pick up where I left off, you can have at it! :D

Have a good weekend, and here's to hoping Mr. Kyle has an identity when I get back! ;)

how long do they think he was where they found him?
I also found 4 hotels on 17 does anyone know if there are more?

Missing 37-year-old man from Virginia Beach, VA from cruise ship July 23, 2004:

http://www.piersystem.com/go/doc/586/43709/

This man's name was Christopher Caldwell. Despite the fact he appeared very intoxicated a crew member ignored his condition and left him outside on the aft deck rather than escorting him back to his cabin. Give his level of intoxication I think he probably drowned.

I feel like I opened up a can of worms! Humans can get themselved into the darndest situations. I can really see now how easily Benjaman got into the situation he is in. Outside of CNN posting the video interview, where does the national exposure stand? That really has to be the best option right now.

I'm almost done checking Utah now. I didn't think I would find anything there. But at least we can cross that one off the list.

I have done a very limited amount of searching here in Indiana. If anyone else would like to help with Indiana I would appreciate it. I think Indy should be looked at very closley since he seems to have some memories of Indy and maybe the sourrounding states to Indiana, It seems like every other person in Indiana came from Kentucky and the were born and raised there but grew up and moved to Indiana looking for better jobs.

Also, I dont know if it would be worth all the extra work to search states far away from Georgia for a presumed drowning, and then have him turn up on the other side of the country still naked doesnt seem likely but who knows

I can help with Indiana. I've been sending out friend requests on MySpace to people in Indiana, Colorado, and/or restaurant-related pages. I'll do some other Indiana related searches as well.

We also need to keep in mind though that any memory BK thinks he has may not be accurate. Jeffrey Ingram, who turned up in Denver with amnesia last year, thought he was from New York and that his wife Penny and 2 kids had died in a car accident. Turns out he was originally from Canada, living in Seattle with his (very much alive) fiancee Penny and no kids. IOW he got the name Penny right but everything else was inaccurate. Luckily he went on national TV and someone recognized him :D

I thought about the water angle as well. The Ogeechee River appears to run through Richamond Hill leading to the Ossabaw Sound & Atlantic Ocean. Wonder what types of activities and/or industry are most prevalent along the river?

I think the presumed drowned or presumed deceased angle is very possible. I looked at Richmond Hill on Mapquest and was amazed at how close it is to the water. This would explain why no one seems to be looking for him.

What about a no body murder case?

Check this case out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Asher

Police said Asher confessed she and her boyfriend chopped up Lord's body in the bathtub and dumped it behind a Maine restaurant, but DNA testing of her bathtub revealed none of Lord's DNA or any evidence of cleaning agents.
~snip~
Lord, 53, a retired telephone company worker from North Hampton, New Hampshire, died in 2000 while strapped to a replica of a medieval torture device in Asher's condominium, according to police. His body was never found, and no proof of his death every appeared.
