Authorities with the Apopka Police Department confirmed Tuesday afternoon that they found human remains in an area where they once searched for Christopher George.

"Human remains have been found at Lake Carter," Apopka Police Department spokesman Steve Popp said.

Police said they could not confirm if the bones belonged to a man or woman or if the find only constituted one set of remains.

The remains were found just yards from where George's truck was found abandoned two years ago.

Rachel George was at the scene of the search for her son, but she said she won't let herself imagine any outcome until she has proof.

The bones recovered were confirmed to be the remains of Christopher George.

James Hataway expected in court

The man considered the prime suspect in one of Central Florida's most high-profile missing persons case is expected back in court today.

Lawyers are expected to go over evidence in the case against James Hataway.

Hataway is pushing for a new trial, after being found guilty of trying to kill a woman back in 2008.

In February a judge granted Hataway's motion for a new lawyer.

Hataway is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio.
